Had to call in MIL for reinforcements. And my train is super delayed due to a police investigation this morning. NYC rolled out the red carpet for my first day back. Hope the conversation goes well with your boss! When is your surgery?

N has sized out length-wise of size 3mo clothing. I’m just floored bc DH is 5’8”- not a tall man. I am also 5’8” so I know I’m on the taller end for women but DH’s family genes are STRONG and they are all super short- DH is the second or third tallest man on his mom’s side. His dad and that side of family are tall but since neither DH nor his brother inherited their dad’s height I figured N was bound to be a shorty. I know it doesn’t really mean anything right now as to how tall he will be- but geez my baby is so long right now!
And this means the 3 brand new fleece winter footie pjs I bought him a few weeks ago don’t fit and he never wore them. Do you think carter’s would let me exchange them for a larger size if the tags have been taken off?? I am cringing at the idea that I spent $ on something that will literally never be worn.

happyfeet9 omg what a disaster of a return to work. I hope once you’re actually at work it is smooth sailing! 😕 jt2378 good luck with your convo w your boss! I’m sorry about having to take leave unpaid. I’ve been in major savings mode since the summer so the two weeks of unpaid leave I’m taking doesn’t hurt us TOO badly. jexxa good luck today!

addymac These kids - growing like weeds! I've never tried to exchange something without tags Why not just cut the feet off and wear them with socks? Do they still fit in the body?

How many times a day do you put your lo on the play mat? Do you have multiple play mats? I'm struggling to keep j moving and entertained. He eats, then will chill for 10 minutes or so then wants to go. I walk him around a bit, put him on playmate twice a day, tummy time once or twice, bouncy chair once or twice, but everything is 10 minutes or less except walking around and it's hard to walk around with him all day because I have bad shoulders and DH has a bad back.
I think I'm not cut out to be a sahm which I'm not going to be but I'm struggling. Dh is also struggling and he is staying hime. I need to get out of the house for more than 2 hours so he can see how it's really going to be.

happyfeet9 I miss NYC! king26 I need to be better about the mat, I just can't leave him with my toddler running around sometimes. But each time he is on it lately he rolls to one side! Both my kids are sick my 17 month old threw up on my 3 times Saturday night, haven't had that fun since being DD in college!

king26 I feel similarly but we have a routine that works better now. A will play on her piano gym 10-30 mins. I lay on the floor play patty cake or wheels on the bus or just talking for 10-15. She sits in her bouncy chair 5-10. 40 minute nap. Eats for 20 mins. And the cycle starts again lol

jexxa and happyfeet9 Good luck at work. I start tomorrow and am so not ready 😭. I need to do like five loads of laundry today so I can put the kids' clothes out for the week. Dh has to do morning drop off bc I'm out of the house by 4:55 AM, so I need breakfast and lunches packed, clothes lined up, and diaper bags packed the day before. I thought sending baby H to daycare would be easier since I've already done it with DS1, but it is so not. I don't want to leave my little squish. addymac. I get you on the clothes. Baby H is wearing some three months but more 3-6 or 6 months now. I would try returning the clothes. If you are a rewards member at Carter's they should be able to look up your purchase history by your phone number. I think it will depend on the person working the register at the time, whether they will do it. king26 we probably only do 10 minutes of Playmat time--he's not a big fan. We do alot of him sitting on my belly with me holding his hands. He loves that and coos and gnaws on my knuckles

Nooooo yoshijo about mastitis, I’m sorry. Hope you feel better soon. The surgery is for my ongoing ass saga, won’t get into the gory details again but my ass has been killing me since the end of July 😭

DS1 was always smaller and fit into sizes younger than he was. Jeez the kid is turning 3 in a month and still fits into size 2T which some are big on him. He swims in 3T and some of his Jammie's are 18months! 😳 He is healthy and perfect so I don't worry! This kiddo is the opposite, he is blowing thru sizes like crazy! Which makes me sad since I am unsure of baby #3!

I need to get out of the house for more than 2 hours so he can see how it's really going to be. I put H on the mat quite a few times. As soon as he is up for the day we go in his room, change and I put him on the mat in his room. We do back and tummy time. Sometimes for a good while and sometimes he hates it. I use the swing and mamaroo. It's hit or miss with both, but usually I get atleast 10-15 minutes if he is in good mood. I have been putting him down for naps in his PNP and today his crib. I usually put him down on his downstairs mat a few times a day, sometimes I sit with him and other times I am trying to get something done. I am crazy about tummy time so I constantly doing it. I love the sit me up chair. He has pretty good head control and he loves to sit up. I usually get 15-20 min out of that. I also find that when he is clingy and nothing works, I sit on the couch, pull recliner out and he lays between my legs. I grab a few toys and he loves it. It's keeps him entertained, although I don't get much done. I don't think there is a right way or wrong to keep him entertained. You do what you need to survive. I do carry him quite a bit, since he is fussy more times than not. It's rough becuase I am so sore by the end of the day! This age is just hard, they don't have huge attention spans and their interest change Day-to-day. I'm a SAHM and it is rough. Sometimes I get so much done and others I feel like I am stuck to the couch. It does get easier as they get older.

I haven’t read the thread yet but just want to hop on real quick and say thanks! So far it’s going well. My coworkers made me a little “welcome back” banner and decorated my office so that was sweet. I’m still catching up on emails - only 730ish to go 😣

I'm worried about j. He has been waking up, eating for 20 minutes, then going right back to sleep. He's been doing this since 6am. Usually he is up for 1 to 2 hours in between naps. He doesn't have a fever but I'm concerned because it's a lot of sleep. Like since 6am He s been sleeping 5 out of 7 hours . Normally he has slept 3 or less.

I know it’s hard not to worry but sometimes they just do this when going through a growth spurt or mental leap. If he has no other symptoms, I’m sure he is fine.

A whole day of just sleeping with barely any awake time. I was wigging out he was getting sick or something and then the next day he was back to his shitty sleeping. So, I’d try not to fret today and tomorrow. If it goes on for more than 2-3 days then maybe I’d shoot the dr a message but otherwise I think they’re just focusing their energy on growing!
