king26 we probably only do 10 minutes of Playmat time--he's not a big fan. We do alot of him sitting on my belly with me holding his hands. He loves that and coos and gnaws on my knuckles Are you sitting or lying down when he sits on you? I wish he would chill more but he doesn't. Oh well [b Lying down with my knees up. I pull him into a seating position letting him hold my hands and then let him rest on my knees if he gets tired. He gives me the biggest smiles in this position. I think it's bc the distance to my face is just right for him to focus.

I'm worried about j. He has been waking up, eating for 20 minutes, then going right back to sleep. He's been doing this since 6am. Usually he is up for 1 to 2 hours in between naps. He doesn't have a fever but I'm concerned because it's a lot of sleep. Like since 6am He s been sleeping 5 out of 7 hours . Normally he has slept 3 or less. Agree with what others have said--mine appears to do this during a growth spurt. It is a bit freaky though when their schedule suddenly changes.

When you do tummy time what do you do? Do you put them on a blanket or mat? Have toys? Put them on a pillow? Just looking for ideas. Any way to promote rolling? Right now we do it on a blanket with a toy

Today was my first day back to work. It went ok, except I couldn’t log onto my computer for six hours.

I forget who asked about clothes but Carter's will take them if you have a receipt even if tags are gone.

king26 I just put R on the carpet on her belly most of the time. Sometimes on a blanket. Sometimes I put a toy near her. I also use her arms to pull her to a sitting position when ever I can to help her build neck strength. But, in all reality, babies go at different paces. R has shown good head control and strength from the beginning. I have a feeling she will reach gross motor milestones earlier than T did.

I put him on a blanket to work on head control and focus on looking straight out / up at me or me with a toy or just focus on the toy or to work on rolling. I also started using the boppy today for sitting and for propping him up on his tummy. Time wise it all varies on his mood. Can be as short as 2min or long like 10. Same for on his back on the play mat. He’s actually been so entertained we’ve been able to eat dinner QUICKLY but together while he plays on it on his back and sometimes he’s like ABSOLUTELY DONE after a few minutes. 🤷🏻♀️

We have so few 6mo footies I would love to be able to exchange them for the right size. But now I wonder if I should just size up to 9mo and let him hang in oversized clothing. Bc who knows how long he will last in these!!

Right now we do it on a blanket with a toy I do a little bit of everything. I put him on his mat, no props. I put him on this piano thing my aunt got him or this water filled thing with fish in it. I have a tummy time pillow we also use. Sometimes I'll prop him on his tummy after changing his diaper on changing table. I don't usually put him directly on the floor. (We have a german Shepherd and no matter how clean the house is, there is always hair!) I try to use mirror or toys, sometimes it's a hit and sometimes he could car less.

I'm so worried that baby H isn't going to take his bottle well at daycare. He takes the bottle fine from dh but not from me. We use an in home daycare, so it will be someone he's never met before. Dh wants to send formula in case he refuses breast milk.
I think I have an issue with excessive lipase in my milk, so the two oz or so of frozen milk I'm sending may have a slightly off taste since I didn't know about the lipase when I froze it and didn't scald it. I know fed is best and preach that all the time, but I'm just bummed if he takes formula bc I've been losing 40 min of sleep motn so I can pump to build up a freezer stash. Also, he's been ebf for two months now. He refuses the boob sometimes if he's upset, so I'm afraid he'll refuse the breast milk bottle just bc of fussiness and she'll go straight to formula. On the other hand, I don't want him to starve!! I know I'm being silly getting so worked up about this. I'm going to have dh tell our provider again that I would really prefer him to just drink the breast milk.

I decided to dip our toes into sleep training. A is 4 months next week. I don't want to CIO since she's so young. So I did a lil Ferber. Last night she cried for 3 mins and stopped. Tonight after 3 mins I went in and rubbed her and sang for a minute. She was quiet for a few, cried for a minute or 2 and fell asleep.

I feel like I have no clue how to get a bedtime routine going especially since she isn’t sleeping in the crib in her own room. She falls asleep with me on the couch and I transfer her like an hour later in my room so yeah that is not great.
What’s everyone’s routine? Is your LO’s still in your room with you?

We do bedtime routine. After his last nap we feed him but not as much as normal so usually 3 oz instead of 4. Then we play or whatever until he starts looking drowsy. Then most nights we do a bath, go into his room and get him in his swaddle, then I feed him 2 oz. While swaddled. 95% of the time he passes out. Routine is the same, minus bath, sometimes. I think the swaddle then bottle single bed to him. He is still in our room. He falls asleep in me on the couch, dh gets ready for bed, then I carry j into our room, put him down, and we all sleep. I usuallt hold him for 15 minutes after he falls asleep to make sure hes sleeping and it gives dh time to get ready for bed.

I'm trying to establish a better routine too. Usually it's diaper, pjs, sleep sack, nurse to sleep in my bed. He sleeps in the pack and play in my room right now. He gets a bath twice a week and I'll do that first. I think I need to add a book in there too. Obviously my child isn't a sleeper so I tried to nurse first and then the other things. But he cried until I nursed him to sleep. I've created a monster. 😝

thinkchocolate05 the first week back is so so hard. E still hates taking a bottle and will only drink at most 2 oz for anyone. She was at daycare 4 days last week. Our pedi wasn't concerned by her low intake and she was only up more a couple of those nights to make up the calories.

Generally we do eat/floor time in either order, then sit on the rocker while singing or playing white noise. Then she gets in her Merlin suit and we say goodnight and she goes into the crib in her room. I want to add bath, making it progressively darker and some part of it in her room but don't know how since the rocker is in the living rm

We’ve got nothing as far as routine. He’s so all over the place withtimes for naps that every day it’s different times. yoshijo thoughts on the Merlin? I was considering getting one to see if it helps with sleep but it’s a bit $

I am also curious about the merlin. Would it be a good transition after a swaddle? We are thinking of getting one.
We have no real naptime routine except when he starts getting tired and fussy I sit with him in the rocker, give him his binky, and rock him. If he cries more then 2 or 3 minutes he's not ready and we go do something for 10 minutes then try again. He goes down the second time almost every time.

addymac king26 I'm happy with it. It is on the more $$ side but worth it. A was furiously trying to free her hands from the sleep sack so it was bunching over her face. The Merlin stays far away from her face. She looks like the kid from A Christmas Story who was so bundled up he couldn't put his arms down lol. She can't eat her hands in it but it doesn't bother her. Helps with the startle reflex too. We tried the swaddle up but she was waking up too much. Once she starts rolling we need to transition out of the suit though.

Haven't read the rest of the thread sorry, but just wanted to update on little D's weight status. We had our check-up this afternoon and she weights 4335grams now which is up 325gr/11.5oz since last week!! Woot! This makes momma happy.
The plan now is to continue the extra bottle at every feed for another week, then drop a morning bottle, then another, and so on till we're back to EFB. That is, if I can get my supply back up to par. On Monday I'm meeting with a LC who will hopefully help me with that. She's given me some advice and tips to work with already as well. If in the end it happens that due to supply issues or whatever I can't EFB then I'm totally fine with combining BF with formula but at least I'll know I've tried all to make it work.
Also, tomorrow I'm seeing my GP to discuss my mental wellbeing (or unwellbeing rather I guess lol). MH&I have talked quite a bit over the past days and I've tried to give him more insight into how I'm feeling etc.. I've been struggling so much, had a ton of (near-)anxiety attacks this past week and sleep brought me nightmares, it's been rough and there have been so many tears. He's really stepped up helping me out with things around the house, has been giving me random hugs and also gives me space to be anxious or sad or angry or upset etc which is really helpful. And keeps telling me I'm an amazing mom and wife and that he loves me and won't stop doing so just because I'm having it rough. Sounds stupid but this is just what I need to hear you know. ♥ He doesn't go back to work till the 20th (except for 2 afternoons next week) and I'm really enjoying having him home now.
Hope you all are doing okay, and that the babies are eating, growing, playing and sleeping as well as they can! I know several of you have returned to work by now or are returning soon, best of luck!! I am officially an unemployed SAHM as per November 2nd (which is the date work decided to use to fire my ass, yup still fighting this through the union but it's such a hassle and ongoing saga...) and while I hate the circumstances I am honestly glad I don't have to worry about going to work just yet (even if it means no €€ heh). *hugs* to all!

yoshijo thanks! Is it very warm? N hates being warm. Example- last night he slept in a T-shirt onesie with socks no pants bc he freaked out when I put him in a long sleeve footie and tried to swaddle him in his crib. Screamed until he was clammy from sweat and screamed until I took all his clothes off and then he calmed down enough to be in a T-shirt onesieand a swaddle blanket until his first wake up (then it was on my chest the rest of the night.) and I was in a long sleeve and sweatpants all night but he was so happy. Here I am worrying he’s too cold and he’s actually mad in a cotton footie pj 😕 ETA: oh and we are in Chicago- it’s not warm here. I have the heat set to 71 but we have air leaks and shitty insulation apparently (ugh!) so the condo is cooler than 71.

addymac it is pretty thick. I have A in fleece pjs under it and she's fine so not too warm. Maybe you would just put N in it in a diaper? The snuggle up wasn't warm and I was worried A was too cold.

We have a bedtime routine, but I need to change he location. After dinner, we play, then bath and feed. Right now he gets his bath in our bathroom and I bring him downstairs since my DH and DS1 are usually watching an episode of something in my bed. I want to change everyone's routine up. My new routine for DS1 will bath and change, then he will lay in his bed. My DH usually reads to him and then a quick video of whatever. This way he isn't in our bed and is already in his. Baby -- same bath/ change routine. However, I want to change him in his room and nurse. So hopefully switching everything up won't be too much of a disaster.
