R has a rash on her left cheek. I think it’s due to formula, since it’s the way she leans when eating. H thinks she’s getting a tooth. H wants her to have a tooth so bad, despite T not getting on until like 8 months. But, since he knows someone who has a baby that got one super early, he thinks R is teething. DD1 didn’t get her first tooth till 7 months but M is drooling and blowing raspberries a ton and I wondered if teeth but I hope not at 3 months!! She also had a rash on 1 cheek too, weird!

I had to finish my shit w amazon then take N and put him to bed. And DH is mad that I didn’t tell him what to do bc he was asking for help. But I did suggest some things. And like, isn’t it common sense to try to go into a dark quiet room and rock a baby? Like no one told me how to be a mom and do shit, I’m figuring it out as I go. Why can’t he figure it out?? Why does he need step by step directions? This makes me so frustrated and nervous for when I go back to work at night...

Like 6 weeks.. so we have a bit of time, still, but his schedule is pretty heavy so idk how to make this work. And kid slept terribly last night. Sigh. I’m so tired and frustrated and my lower back is killing me from sitting slanted in bed to have him lay on my chest to get some sleep. Sigh.

So I went to work for a half day. It went well. The kids missed me and I missed them. 4 teachers called me out in the hall for consults which is funny because I wasn't really working, I just came in to observe but I answered all their questions. It was good to be there and DH was with j for 4 hours and it was fine. I know it'll be 8 hours normally and 5 days a week but I feel better about it now.

Oh man. So last week DHs car had a flashing check engine light- uh oh! We had to tow it and it ended up costing like $700 to fix. We figured that was cheaper than getting a new car and the mechanic said it was all fixed and otherwise she looked good - she’s a 2002 Nissan Altima. Well today DH came home for lunch and five min after he left he calls and says he’s coming back home and needs to take my car back to work bc the check engine light is flashing AGAIN. like wtf. Ugh. I have a bad feelings about this, and it’s going to suck hardcore bc we JUST dropped $700 on it!!
And we had a person come out to check the windows / insulation on the condo- yeah. Quoted us like $7k to fix all the issues since this building has shit for insulation. He measured the temp in the master bedroom by the windows - it was 54* by the windows, 65* by the ceiling- when we have the thermostat set to 71!
Being an adult sucks sometimes. Owning a home sucks. Owning cars suck. Ughhhhh

addymac, that suuuucks!! Seems like it is always something. I hope at least the car issue turns out to be NBD. I'd get another estimate on the windows, that seems ridiculously high!

Tmi alert: I feel like I stink all the time. Like I have an odor. I also am usually freezing in winter and now I sweat at night and random times during the day. Anyone else?
Worst of all is I feel like I'm leaking "down there" not pee though that happens but like I'm wet a lot of the time and it has a sweat odor. Dh says he can't smell it but I can smell mysekf. Is this normal? What is it? I'm hoping when I get my period everything will regulate but right now I feel gross and smelly

king26- I feel like my BO has increased significantly since giving birth. Like I never used to smell even if I forgot to put deodorant on and now I’m like hell no to ever forgetting it. I do get the concept of thinking you smell down there but others (DH) doesn’t smell it. I’ve been spotting since my iud last month so I’m no help in what’s the norm for down there right now but I imagine it’s probably all within a normal range 🤷🏻♀️ Unless you’re like itchy and it’s green, I think you’re prob ok, even if it is not what your normal used to be. Idk though. muscari congrats on surviving the day AND on getting to the next round!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Go rest. We’re not *that* important 😂😭

What did you end up doing about pumping and D? Also I know the snoring thing. Dh is often snoring on one side of me and j is rolling around making noise on the other side then I lay wide awake lol

addymac that like was for commiseration. I totally get it. We went through the whole car thing when P was 2 weeks old - we dropped almost $1500 into H’s car only for it to die 3 days later and we had to buy a new one anyway 😣 And I hear you with the house repairs too. I love and hate being a homeowner at the same time.

I sweat all the time, including night sweats. It’s the worst. I also had discharge like you’re describing and then got my period shortly thereafter.

P had another appt with the urologist today. They did a cystogram and it showed that she has bilateral reflux (meaning the swelling in her kidneys is being caused by a backflow of urine from the bladder). So long story short, we have to start her on a low-dose antibiotic to prevent UTIs at least until she’s potty trained, and she has to have routine ultrasounds to monitor her kidneys. And any time she gets a fever of 101.5 or higher, we have to take her in to the pedi (or urgent care if after hours) so they can do a urine test to rule out a UTI. NOT the news we were hoping for today 😔

Oh no jexxa, that stinks and I’m sorry. Does she need to be on antibiotics constantly? Do they know what causes this? Is it just her anatomy?

Oh no jexxa, that stinks and I’m sorry. Does she need to be on antibiotics constantly? Do they know what causes this? Is it just her anatomy? Yep, it’s a once-a-day antibiotic. There’s a valve in the ureters that’s supposed to only allow urine to flow from the kidney to the bladder. If that valve isn’t formed properly, it can malfunction and cause urine to flow from the bladder back up into the kidneys. P’s case is bilateral which means both of her valves are malformed (so both kidneys are affected). Her left kidney is mild-moderate and her right kidney is moderate-severe.

She had a mild fever from her 2 month shots but that’s been it. Although I said to H earlier that watch, within a week she’ll suddenly spike a fever and we’ll have to bring her in 😒 A lot of the cases correct on their own. The urologist told us that P’s specific grade has a 50% chance of resolving itself by age 5. If it doesn’t, they start looking at surgery. They did tell us though that they only like to do the surgery if there’s a history of recurrent UTIs, so if P’s case doesn’t resolve but she doesn’t have recurrent UTIs then we can probably skip the surgery.

jexxa, oof. I'm sorry to hear that the news was not what you guys wanted to hear. I'm hoping she ends up with it self-resolving and not having UTIs. I'm sorry, that really stinks, to add another layer of worry to motherhood. sending hugs.
