Tonight is night 2 of DH trying to put N to bed. I gave him some more suggestions and tips... am hoping tonight goes better - but kid woke up from a nap at 7 (only a 30min one) and should have been back down to sleep by 9 - I started getting him ready for bed around 8:30 while DH finished eating dinner, and then passed him off - and its already 9:15 and he's still awake. He did just start giving him another bottle, so hopefully this will help top him off and help him fall asleep. Sigh. We will see. FX. ETA: but man it is heartbreaking to hear him crying in there and not be able to run in and scoop him up and fix it.... ET #2: WOOO! N is down... hoping he stays down for at least 4+ hours... now i need to pump and go to bed! Oof! Don't mind me, I'm just talking to myself over here

E has been fussy about nursing all day. H finally got her to take a bottle at 9 tonight. I can't figure out if it's because of the thrush or a leap or just being fussy. I guess I'll see what she's like tomorrow and go from there. jexxa I'm sorry the news isn't what you were hoping for. I'll keep my FX that she doesn't have many UTIs and won't need surgery. ETA: do they end up changing the antibiotics every so often? I can't imagine she won't develop some sort of resistance to that one if she's going to be on it for years?

jexxa I'm sorry to hear about the kidneys I hope it ends up resolving itself. addymac I'm glad your H got him to sleep! We sometimes give j a half ounce topper to put him to sleep when we are having a hard time. It's a bad habit but it works.

I can't imagine she won't develop some sort of resistance to that one if she's going to be on it for years? We asked this too. Supposedly this particular antibiotic stays in the urinary tract so it doesn’t mess with her gut flora.

jexxa ahh I am so sorry that the drs visit didnt give better news. How stressful. Fx that she won't get any UTIs and that the issue will resolve itself over time.

Also, what do you use to get snot and boogers out of baby's nose? J has been so stuffy.

J keeps hitting the sides of his bassinet so we are trying him in the pnp tonight. I hope it works because it has so much more room and I want him comfortable and in our room for a few more months.. last time we tried it he woke up every 2 hours screaming which isn't how he normally wakes up at night.

king26 R hits the sides of the bassinet, too. I’m pretty sure it’s normal. Babies are noisy sleepers and they move around a lot. T did the same thing and I kept her in the bassinet until she was 5 months old, which is pretty much how big R is now. I have no plans of moving R until the bassinet seems unsafe for her.

bsouls king26Is the baby still asleep when they hit the sides or is it when they are waking up or? D. does this but I have a hard time sometimes figuring out whether she is awake but keeps her eyes closed still or is still asleep! Ditto for grunting and other noises. She started making loads of sounds motn a few days ago but usually doesn't seem to be awake.... but some times she is. Mama is confused!! But i also dont want to wake her up when I dont have to.

Welp, the first fall happened. I feel like the worse mom ever right now. I had him laying on the boppy lounger while on the glider ottoman like usual and just went to restart the washer. Heard a thump and he had flipped over onto the floor 😖. I feel horrible, but he seems fine. It wasn’t a far fall, should I just keep an eye on him or contact the pedi?

@easilyunamused oh no! You’re not the worst mom ever, ever! Idk. How did he fall? Face first? Onto his back? How far of a drop was it- like a foot? If he seems ok, idk. Maybe just call the pedi and see what they say? 😕 I’m sorry. I’d feel awful too but it’s okay. Accidents happen and if he seems fine, he probably is. Hugs

Thanks ladies, he sort of flipped backwards and landed on his belly, not his back. He seems completely fine and normal. It’s barely a foot drop and onto soft carpet.
Gone are the days of leaving him where ever though. I was already securing him on the changing table so I should’ve been more careful. It was literally seconds.

I wait until his eyes are open or he has been flailing for 10 minutes straight before getting him out.
