Sadly no. My dr thinks I’m about 50% healed right now. I have a stress reaction on both sides of my pubic bone and a labral hip tear. It’s definitely improving though. Oh yikes. How did the injury come about and how long have you been out of commission?

lupincat thank you! Good seeing you! Has our bmb died? I looked there yesterday and hasn’t been a post in ages. Sadly yes. I have been trying to keep up with this board at least and there are a bunch of people here from our BMB but I do miss it.

piratecat I don’t think there was any one instance for my stress reaction. My theory is that I didn’t have enough core/hip/glute strength for the amount of running I was doing so overtime it got worse. I definitely slack in my weights/cross training. My hip started hurting after my trail race in January. I ran through both things until my last half marathon in the end of February and finally saw a Dr and got an MRI to confirm.

I don't post too often, usually in the Royals thread and in Special Needs. I can't believe we're all closing in on first birthdays!

@starzia I know you're around here somewhere! Has your LO started solids yet? Hi! Yes we started solids at 6 months. I was doing purees and she was spitting them out and making funny faces for a while. Then this week she loves food. She eats purees if they are mixed with better thicker things. but she loves puffs and biscuits. Been cutting up fruits and veggies into tiny pieces. Did strawberries the last 4 days On Wednesday will do either eggs pr peanut butter. Will get them both done soon. Yay, sounds like you guys are doing great! It's fun watching them learn to eat. Come by more often!

My chiropractor/sports medicine dr is having me start walking this week and next and then maybe start running after that. I’m doing stretches and weight training right now. So maybe 2 more weeks of not running as long as my walking is relatively pain free.

My LO is 13 months now, but I'm still checking here. If folks ever wanted to move to the Toddler board, I'd be happy to swap with you! My BMB is on Facebook (and I'm not).

He's wicked fast at crawling though. I am not ready to have a walker but it would also be nice not having to carry him everywhere. Maybe.

What brands and types of yogurt do you ladies give? I just found it yogurt is safe (dh was all nothing with cows milk!) so now I’m intrigued to give him some yogurt. (N is 7.5mo) DD likes the Happy Baby plain yogurt best. I think she likes how thin/watery it is, and I haven't found a regular yogurt with the same texture. If I give her YoBaby, she'll only eat half the container even if I get the flavored ones. The smaller containers are good for sending to daycare and taking with us as a snack on weekends. For at home, I usually get Brown Cow plain yogurt.

It's better taking DD out with us now that she can walk. She's entertained walking around. In unfamiliar spaces she won't stray too far from us, but at the library and some other places we go a lot I do end up just following her around.

Does she not like being carried now that she can walk? Do they fall a lot when they start to walk? A lot of crying? I'm not prepared.

We take public transit to work/daycare, so she's in a baby carrier for 45 min each way and she's still fine with that (lots to look at on the bus/train). But if we just have her in our arms when we're out, she will go limp and try to get down. She was pretty quick to figure out the best way to fall and got very good at falling back to land on her bum. She's only toppled over and bonked her head a few times. She hasn't cried much - if she's tired and feeling dramatic, she'll put on a show but is easily distracted.

J can be quite dramatic but is usually pretty good about not crying for minor head bonks. I should probably start a walking thread! Maybe I should start a walking thread!

DS1 was more than happy to let me carry him when he started. He was one of those that didn’t take practice steps or walk with you. He just stood up one day and walked across the room

Lentil pasta is much better than the black bean stuff. Taste is milder and it is not as brittle. J loved it with spinach and pea pesto.

DS1 didn't mind too much being carried after he started walking, he did hate riding in carts when he could be walking instead though. For us, it wasn't the walking that came with a lot of falling, it was the RUNNING. Once he realized he could go faster, then he started tripping and slamming into stuff. H asked me one day why I let him fall so much, get so many bruises/cuts (cue rage from me) and within 20 seconds of that asshole comment, DS1 tripped and busted his lip on the coffee table right in front of H. 😂

Ugh, so much food being thrown on the floor. Intentionally. Whatever he doesn’t want to eat, which can be a lot, depending on his mood and what we are eating. Will it ever stop?

Because no...it doesn't end until like...2? 3 maybe? I forget. But damn if our old dog didn't resume his position directly under the high chair the second I got it out for DS2 😂 He most certainly remembers the spoils of the solid food.

I need to get one. My cat used to love human food and I thought he’d make a good substitute but he hasn’t helped. He’ll occasionally eat a cheerio or two.
