Our district doesn't require quarantine for household members Your health department doesnât require all close contacts to quarantine? Our health department is a very strict plane on this. Thereâs legal ramifications if you break quarantine. I lost where this conversation started, but I think you guys are talking about two different things. If student A has to stay home because they are a close contact, their siblings do not not have to quarentine as long as student A stays healthy. IF student A gets sick and has symptoms, then their siblings have to stay home. If we were quarentining second and third degree contacts we would never have students in school.

Yeah there's no quarantining here. You are expected at school unless you are covid positive. Same for both mine and DH's workplaces. I just got an email that there was a technical glitch and my enro order was cancelled đ« I placed 2 orders though so I'm hoping it's only one. It didn't specify. Yep. Here, too. Mom, dad, and brother can all be down with Covid but sister is expected to be at school unless/until they test positive. If they choose to quarantine anyways it's an unexcused absence. It's why Texas has the numbers they do and NY has the numbers they do.

This makes sense, but my brain also wants to explode thinking about it. D1âs friend was back today, vax parent is still symptomatic. I feel like I need a graphic to understand all of this, if I remember after dinner, I may try and see if it exists.

abs I guess what was confusing to me that our school and local district have been quarentining asymptomatic students since the first week. Then, as of today, they realized they actually can't do that and had to take back all their measures. The inconsistencies across ISDs plus charters is so frustrating.

No, Iâm specifically talking about mom and dad are both positive with COVID in the last few days but kids (under 12, not vaxxed) are in school. Which is apparently not apparently not a universal stay home situation for all schools.

Thereâs legal ramifications if you break quarantine. Our county health department says household members need to quarantine so I guess? I think what I was thinking of is that household members don't have to quarantine if there's an *exposure*, not a positive case

So, for example, if there was a positive case at my DD's lunch table she would have to stay home but the school would still tell me to send my other kids unless she tested positive, which I'm absolutely not fucking doing

Today's self-care act was spending the day going through and reporting comments on my county's health department Facebook page. It's been rampant with anti-vax, anti-mask misinformation.

The schools emailed earlier and theyâre requiring a school wide mask mandate. Iâm sure parents are going to be pissed. The email said theyâd seen a âsignificant increase in the number of positive cases and the virus is spreading quickly throughout our school.â They said this is the best hope of keeping kids in classrooms so weâll see if people follow the rules.

It boggles my mind that those who were so desperate to get kids back in school last year don't want to do what they need to to keep their kids in school.

But yeah 1/3 of parents opted out of the mask requirements. Im so very very angry right now

jkjacq Those numbers are no good. Have the kids been in school for two full weeks now? I want your districtâs tracker. I know of two cases for our school but because the kids never came to school on the first day, it doesnât count towards our school active cases. Itâs so shady.

Theyâve been in for four days. I can only imagine what itâs gonna look like at two weeks. Our district is also only counting cases acquired at school. Itâs so irresponsible and dumb.

3.5 weeks in with no mask mandate and the district is at 20% of the student population sick or in quarantine and adding approx 40 students a day sick and 500 students a day to quarantine.
Thereâs an emergency school board meeting tonight which FB generally agrees will result in us going to 100% virtual learning for an unknown period of time. Which is 100% the right thing to do in this time and place and I feel an immense sense of relief that my 11 YO will be âsafeâ for a bit but mentally Iâm headed back to the pit of despair.
And my FIL stopped over last night to see if H and I wanted tickets to a local symphony for our anniversary and was fluxomed when we declined.

There has been so much drama at our school between pro science parents, Anti science parents and administration. Anti parents hired a lawyer and now I feel like the school is retaliating. Today's hot topic is they changed classrooms to students all with masks or all without.
Obviously people are upset their kids are changing classes 3 weeks in, but their screams of segregation don't sit right at all. I have lots of mixed emotions right now.

There was a positive case in an elementary school and a middle school with the kids last being in the building on Monday. That was the first day of school.

I can't remember who posted the video of that guy talking about the woman selling fake vaccine cards on IG, but I think this is the same woman?
