I had just seen a story on that the other night and realized I was so not paying attention to a next door neighbor that I didn't realize Trudeau was 'in trouble' lately.

I've been paying a little bit of attention since I have several Canadian friends on FB, but I didn't realize it was as close as it seems.

I had no idea until I watched Hasan Minhaj a couple of weeks ago. The dumpster fire in our own country takes enough of my mental bandwidth.
Did anyone else watch that episode of Patriot Act? I'd be interested in a more knowledgable opinion on Hasan's take of the situation there.

I'm legitimately terrified. Why do so many Liberals demand perfection? Trudeau hasn't been perfect so let's vote for the other guy, regardless of how terrible the other guy is. I'd roll my eyes if it wasn't so serious.

This is going to be the first time i'm eligible to vote in a federal election so i'm pretty excited. However, getting any kind of information about parties and candidates has been a lot more difficult than expected.
I know more about the US democratic candidates than our own right now

I'd roll my eyes if it wasn't so serious. i basically have this argument with myself a lot. Like there are so many good things about Trudeau and the Liberals but then SCANDAL... SNC LAVALIN blah blah blah. I recently met some maritime dairy farmers that are pretty upset with him right now though

emma please explain "maritime dairy farmers". Is maritime a place or are Canadians dairy farming on the high seas?

I really feel like we need a change from the usual PC/Liberal merry go round.. I really do like Jagmeet Singh & the NDP (I really wish Jack Layton was still alive ) but 2 issues, a) I don't thing the country as a whole is ready to have a PM who wears a turban (there are some really raciest af people around.. ) and b) his refusal to call the Air India bombers as terrorists..

danib, wickedcandy, i feel the same. I strongly align with most NDP policies but I'm on the fence with Jagmeet Singh. He's local to me and i don't see any great achievements or overwhelming support from his current riding. I'm also very concerned about a conservative backlash and those assholes getting in again. The prospect of Andrew Scheer is scary

I'm so stressed about this election. I live in a pretty conservative riding, but there has been a shift as there are more people moving out of the GTA. I had been planning to vote Green, but my riding doesn't have a Green candiate, nor an NDP, so my choice is made for me.

Yikes.. Not a great thing there JT.. I'm surprised it never came out in the last election. Out of all the other leader's responses, I do like how Jagmeet responded.

He was 29 in the photo that just came out. 29!!! Ugh.

Trudeau is going to have to step down. I don’t actually think he’s a great leader. I think he has done some great things and I absolutely don’t think anyone else would’ve handled Trump as well as he did. But this, coupled with other things, means he cannot continue to lead. But I feel like if he steps down now, it hands a win to Scheer. Who, is a fucking puppet of Harper. (Also, so is fucking Kenney and I cannot even talk about him). And that would be a long term disaster.
I’m not saying this shit should be ignored but the Liberal party needs to figure out their shit fast because Scheer terrifies me and fuck, Trudeau. I’ve given him a lot of grace over stuff but omg dude. What the fuck.
And I almost always line right up with the NDP but I think Singh lacks the passion Layton had and I’m not sure he’s even really taken seriously. I can’t imagine a world where the NDP are the federal government. I know it’s decided by the time It gets to Alberta but I do not trust my province to help Singh's bid at all.

I honestly don't think Singh can win, so I feel like voting for him would be helping the C's. I'm so disgusted, there really isn't enough time for the Liberals to put someone else forward is there?
