Please set a good example for Western democracy today friends! ;-) There’s been a meme going around SM with Greta Thurnberg’s face, saying “This is what foreign interference in an election looks like” because she came here last week. I’m sure she planned her whole world tour to coincide with Canada’s election. 🙄 .

Also as an Albertan, please know I was dying DYING of the German embarrassment about the counter protest to Greta with the convoy of pickup trucks and semis driving up the Edmonton. My gosh.
Apparently they had posted on their Fb site that they wanted to show her that they didn’t want her to yell at them anymore.

Apparently they had posted on their Fb site that they wanted to show her that they didn’t want her to yell at them anymore. It’s so bad. And she’s not saying to get rid of oil this second FFS. She’s asking governments to acknowledge that it’s not sustainable and work towards greener options. Why is our govt insistent on putting all its resource eggs in the oil bucket? What about being a leader in solar or wind power? Couldnt the oil patch labourers retrain to other energy industries? But the fibreglass hull of her solar powered boat is made from products thanks to the O&G industry so she must be a huge hypocrite amirite.

I’m with H on a work trip (voted in advance polls). I’m in a hotel room, in pj’s, with wine, and the CBC.

Newfoundland and Labrador are currently looking liberal but it’s still early.

Haven’t been following this thread but have been following the election. Voted in the advance polls on Thanksgiving weekend, DD1 had fun putting my ballot in the box. I wish I could have got a picture.
Should be interesting tonight!

emma !!!!! Have you seen? Your old riding went Green! woow! I’m not surprised actually, they’ve been going that way for a while and all the NB NDP candidates switched to the Green Party a few months ago

But it’s nice to see them picking up more ridings. I just hate seeing them at the expense of the NDP.

I’m in one of the iffy 905 ridings. Hoping for a minority coalition thing because I think it might be better that way. I’m intrigued by the NDP values and I appreciate the Liberals for what they have accomplished, and perhaps together, they will a bigger force to the conservatives than a liberal majority govt.
I’m not well versed in political science and have only taken interest in the last 5-10 years. So I could very well be talking out of my ass.

Hoping for a minority coalition thing because I think it might be better that way. Honestly, a minority coalition would be good, I think. I was actually hoping the Cons might take SLIGHTLY more seats than the Liberals to force the Liberals to actually make a coalition rather than just forming a minority and hoping the NDP will prop them up. I was ready to see both Liberal and NDP MPs in cabinet - I think some great things could be accomplished that way.

A liberal minority doesn’t hurt my feelings. I can live with this.
And my petty petty, hateful heart hopes Scheer cries like a little bitch.

CBC just predicted a liberal government! I'm down with a Liberal minority as the second-best option here, but omfg if Trudeau gets a majority again... ugh. I think it's unlikely at this point, though. Hopefully. But still a chance.

Also, my cable keeps cutting out because apparently it’s 1983 in my house so I keep missing it but the NDP have lost a lot more than expected? Is that right

Especially after his "well whichever party wins the most seats should form government" bullshit from the last few days. Eat them, Scheer. Eat your words. You moron.
