I'm gonna try giving him a muslin blanket for naps when it cools down and see how he does with it but I have been thinking about getting that first sleep sack otherwise. He sleeps without anything right now and as much as he rolls all around he's never gotten anything stuck between the slats.
After posting here that weaning off the snooze feed was going well the first two days, the last couple have been awful. I was really hoping he would truly STTN until a reasonable time before we leave for a week at camp, where we have to share a room, which means he'll wake up at 5 and there's zero chance he'll go back to sleep.
Next week is also going to be my first time away from him overnight. I'm nervous about how he'll do but also kind of excited to have the house to myself.

My 2 year old is still in a sleep sack and in a crib. He likes it, and I don't want him to attempt to climb out, though after this long in a crib I doubt he'd ever try. I don't think we'll switch to blankets until he's in a toddler bed, maybe when he's around 2 and a half?

Ugh dinner time is still a struggle. On a good night he’ll eat for 5 or 10 minutes, and you know, close to zero veggies. Which is fine but he won’t play by himself (our dining room opens into the room all his toys are in) so we can finish eating. And then there are nights like tonight when he refuses to even sit down. Ugh. I think he was extra tired tonight and went to bed early. We’ll see what time that gets him up in the morning.

piratecat when we were on vacation I ended up bringing DD into bed with us at 3/4 am and it worked out. I thought she'd be too excited and wouldn't sleep (this is what she does at home) but she was fine going to sleep and actually slept later in bed with us than she ever does at home. If you're stuck in a room with him anyway, it might be worth a shot

It’s hit or miss with him - he also gets too excited to sleep - but it has worked a few times in the past. Luckily, my MIL is an early riser and always happy to babysit. 😉

I am 100% pro family dinner time, and we strive to all eat together, but on nights like that, DH will stop dinner and just start the bath/bed routine. (He's the bathtime guy in our house.)

We'll give DD playdough or stickers to while we finish up eating. I feel like stickers is my recent magical discovery. I buy stickers from Target, give her a sheet of paper, and let her peel off the stickers and put them on the paper. She loves it. And I pretend she's developing fine motor skills.

We bring toys to restaurants and stuff but he is never interested. But he does like stickers so maybe he would like that. I have one of those reusable sticker pads I've peeled off all the stickers off the sheet and he just keeps saying "more" and I just unpeel a sticker and hand it to him and he puts it someplace else (usually all on top of each other).

I have the fucking Word Party theme song stuck in my head. Thanks for the screen time suggestions. I don't even know what's popular anymore. It's just a constant stream of kids music on repeat in my head. DS1 and I figured out that Alexa will play "Everything is Awesome" from the Lego Movie so now he just yells EMMETT at her a hundred times a day to hear the song.

moutonrouge those are nice. I went ahead and purchased more sleepsacks. I just really miss the long sleeve fleece ones. 😢 lol! Yeah, I tried the blanket thing for one night and that was a no-go. It was kind of like when I agreed she could ride on a pony (kind of large sized pony) at the fair, but then I chickened out. 😂😂

My boss’s daughter is obsessed with Panic at the Disco. My only comment is “they were out when I was in high school. How are they still around??”

We stick to the radio in my car too and I like to sing along when I find something good. DS heartily objects to my singing every time--it used to be an angry whine and turned into "Stop singing, Mommy!" when he got more verbal.

I've been listening to the new Panic! at the Disco album (lol @ cmb 's comment about them) in the car. And DS loves the Hamilton soundtrack, likely because that's all I listened to while pregnant. We never did kid music with SD. I just tried to avoid heavy profanity during her parrot-like years.
