Happy Eclipse Day! I love this kind of thing, so I'm excited. Also, no school for any of us. Make me feel better and tell me what people have been saying to you during this (or previous) pregnancy. I've had some doozies.

I've have some doozies. All from last time: "You have a VERY anterior cervix, did you know that?" - My GP doing a first tri pap smear. "Wow, your veins are very juicy. That makes my job easy." - Phlebotomist during blood collection. "Well, there's no way you're going to make it to 36 weeks." - Nurse at my OB's office. Everyone has been much more normal this time around.

So I'm super sick. Ellie was up a bunch last night and is now also clearly coming down with the same crap I have. And I essentially start a new job tomorrow. It's a whole lot if crappiest case scenario.

Feel better cnf! I've had quite a few this time ... "When are you due? It seems like you just get bigger everyday!" "Are you waddling already?" (This was at 6 months, and no, my shoes hurt) "Twins?! How are you going to manage that?" - and many other similarly disparaging comments about managing a 2.5 year old and twins.

At dinner the other night, a lady said, "Oh, you must be overdue." When I told her that it was twins, she said, "Are you sure there aren't three in there?"
The next day at lunch, a woman walked up to us at our table and asked, "Are you getting ready for number three?" I said that it would be three and four as they're twins. The woman then hollered to her friend a few tables away, "You were right! It's twins!" She then explained she and her friend had a bet about it.
Clearly I just shouldn't go out in public anymore.

That's got to be one of the worst things you can say to a pregnant woman.

At the store the other day a woman saw all my boys and said "wow, is this one a girl?" I said no, it's a boy. And she said "well lucky you, don't get pregnant again though or it'll be a girl" 😒

H and I have just spent the whole morning/afternoon gutting this house. It's great feeling that nothing needs to be done and everything is clean. I just need to put the dreaded clothes away that are next to our wardrobe... I might ask H to come help me lol.
Made homemade meatballs that are marinating in the fridge, and GOT is on tonight. Today has been a good day!

I feel lucky to have not had any stupid/rude comments yet. Then again I don't really socialise with people other than my family and friends 😂 my BFF's always tell me I'm massive but that's because they both carry small. My BFF had a baby a year ago, and when she give birth you could barely tell she was pregnant so to her I am massive lol.
Then again I don't have a very approachable face to make comments to, I have 'resting bitch face syndrome' and it works in my favour lol.
I got the twins comment a couple times from H's family (wanker uncles) with DS's pregnancy even though they knew it was only one

Brunch with my friends yesterday was lovely. It was tea party themed and just so thoughtful.
I finished touching up DS's room. Now we just have to hang art and curtains.
But, of course, the day couldn't be all smiles. Our dryer broke with a load of damp laundry in it and another in the washer. It's been dying for awhile, but I was really hoping it could hold out until next year. Thankfully, my ILs offered to help pitch in for a new one in lieu of a baby gift and it should be here today or tomorrow.

Odd pregnancy comments: when I went to get my two hour glucose test done, the normal phlebotomist wasn't there and the woman filling in didn't listen when I said that I had bad veins. After she realized I was correct, she kept commenting on how bad they were and finally I said "Well after 42 years on this earth, I'm well aware of how bad they are, hence why I told you as soon as I sat down" and her response was "Well good for you for having a baby at your age." ... from a phlebotomist...in my OB's office.

I am at a loss on some of these comments. Jeez, people are ridiculous. I think I have good RBF too because people don't really say much to me. I never really had any random belly grabs either thankfully. The first one who did that to me last time was my stupid brother at my baby shower. The only comments that stick out to me are from my H. He is just a very blunt person so it usually doesn't get me down too much. He mentioned one day meeting a woman who was as far along as I was but a lot smaller. Thanks for that H.

" you didn't get this big with the last one" " you know the older you are the harder it is to lose the weight"
and the lady at the sandwich shop asked if she could touch my stomach the other day. She leaned over the counter to touch it... awkward. How do you say no to that without sounding bitchy? lol

Very thoughtful of them!

OMG, some of those comments you guys! Yeesh. I've been pretty lucky, most people have been pretty nice. I don't offend easily, which probably helps. I'm just mostly surprised by all the strangers who acknowledge it! Mostly people just want to talk about it and I don't really have anything to say which is awkward. cnf, so sorry you're sick and watching Trolls, I hope they both end soon As for me, not much of note really, I took today off b/c why not? DH decided to take today off to recover from his bike race. It didn't exactly go as planned, he got stung by a hornet at the start line and then blew a tire for one of the first times ever (I think). I have a MW appt later this morning though so it'll be nice for him to join. He started a new job that's no longer 5 minutes away from the MW office, so harder for him to get the time to join me. Hopefully he'll be able to make it one more time in October.
