I haven't gotten too many comments. I got one "you must be having a big baby" when I was like ... 16 weeks pregnant. I blame the bloat and the fact that the individual has no filter. I get random belly rubs from volunteers at my work, which I prefer to comments.
I hate that people feel that they have the ability to comment on our bodies. Like pregnant bodies and bodies in general are not public entities to be commented on.

cnf I hope you feel better soon. Good luck tomorrow. bethers I have to actively keep myself from waddling. It's just so much easier lol No bad comments (except from my MIL) or random belly rubs yet. Now I'll definitely be on the lookout for wandering hands lol

Welp, just got a great comment right now. My coworker just told me that pregnant women should be wearing red and a safety pin (during the eclipse), otherwise the baby will have a cleft palate! Uh...

That's nuts!! I had someone on my FB feed ask whether pregnant women should look at the eclipse even with approved glasses. Seriously?

You are the second person today who has heard this. What the heck? I told her that we have multiple 3D pics from the OB and MFM. It's all good. Her daughter is due roughly 3 weeks after me and was wearing both red and the pin today.

You are the second person today who has heard this. What the heck? It's a superstition. www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2017/08/18/pregnant-during-eclipse-superstitions-say-could-harm-baby/579196001/ "Aztecs believed a lunar eclipse was a result of a bite being taken out of the moon. This idea translated into the Mexican superstition that if a pregnant woman viewed an eclipse, a bite would be taken out of her unborn child's face. Hindu text credits the eclipse to the head of the demon Rahu, who ate the moon or sun" Red and safety pin thing: "Do wear metal, and red underwear. Yup, this one goes against the previous idea. Mexican superstitions say wearing a safety pin (traditionally, a woman might have held a knife close to her belly) and red underwear offers protection against a cleft palette. While the cause of a cleft palate is unknown, there have been no proven links to eclipses during pregnancy. " This pregnant lady is about to go take the recyclables out so I can check out the eclipse. We are supposed to get 86% coverage (at 2:44pm EST) and I can tell it's already getting darker out.

PS. It's too cloudy here to see shit. It's dark like there's a bad storm rolling in ... that's about it.

quinn, Christmas cove is somewhat near Boothbay Harbor. It's hard to judge driving times between stuff because I was so young and we would go by boat to a lot of places. It's along the Atlantic, coastal side of Maine.

When I was pregnant with DS, one of DH's friends actually asked him if that was why we were getting married. FTR I got knocked up AFTER we were engaged. I still dislike her.

Hello! I am off today since I am working Saturday. DD and I just got back from target, where I had no self control and bought more infant outfits. Including a Halloween newborn one just in case...
I've gotten a lot of "wow, you're so big already!" Comments. But also eyeroll worthy is the high school friend on FB who said she doesn't understand when people say they "hate" pregnancy when there are people suffering from infertility. I commented and was like "uh yeah, well when I was sick for 16 weeks while working full time and caring for a toddler, and now dealing with painful SPD, I definitely said I hated it more than once, despite being very happy to be pregnant." She hasn't said anything lol.

Curious what/if she replies to you.

Had a comment at the pharmacy just now. The lady at the desk asked if those were all my kids and I said yes and she said "I have 3 boys and my 4th was a girl". I said "oh this one is a boy!" And the bitch actually replied with "aw I'm sorry" ....
I just looked at her and she tried backtracking but too late bitch.

We watched the eclipse at a friend's house. Our area was like 97% totality, I was underwhelmed.
We go to the hospital tonight for the sibling class. I'll scope it out and see if the eclipse caused a higher birth rate than normal, which I have heard people say is a thing, like the full moon.

You guys should all move to the south. Everyone just says nice things to me or is like, "bless your heart for being out in this heat."

Are they Italian? Sounds like something my MIL would say (about the red no the cleft palate). She's already told me more than once that I need to put a red ribbon on the babies crib, it has to do with keeping the evil eye away.

I fucked up the gd test. Nurse said she would be surprised if I passed. J had a big appointment so I have barely eaten anything due to nerves. I had a breakfast burrito for breakfast and then drank a can of Coke and a handful of goldfish for lunch. :-(

If you fail, would your doc let you redo it?

I was so busy at my appt talking about the pain and the fact I wanted a sick note for work, I forgot to ask about taking something for the heartburn. I'm dying here again. I've drank milk and water. Hoping something helps this evening.

Hoping something helps this evening. You can dissolve some baking soda into water if you get desperate and drink that. It's the only thing that works for me when I don't have Tums in the house.
