I started Wegovy in January and recently switched to Zepbound because I was having stomach pains/nausea. The first two weeks were ok but this week I want to eat everything. And then I feel like crap when I do. Urgh.

My cousin uses this and said it goes from eating scraps of food and feeling stuffed the first days after the shot to stuffing his face when he’s due for the next one. Is that the pattern you are seeing? |

jaygee DS said he wanted “long swoopy hair over one eye” back in the spring. We let him go with it and he lasted all summer until he was over it and at his back to school haircut asked for it “regular” 😅 his is stick straight though so it never got curly/wavy.

Is that the pattern you are seeing? Pretty much that's how it was on the Wegovy but the stuffing the face part seems to be starting sooner right now. I asked the dr. if we can up the dosage on the next refill. |

I got an email yesterday from my 11yo DD's agriculture teacher - she was drawing penises on her desk and notebook. Dude, could we not? She lost her phone for the evening and had to write an apology note to the teacher for defacing property.

I toured two daycares and I think we're going to pull the trigger. I feel bad for not having figured this out over the summer instead but better late than never I suppose. The new place seems great and similar to our old daycare that we loved. I'm hoping transition won't be too rough and he'll love it. It will also be nice to make some connections with families he'll be in school with.

I also met the mom of a new kid at the bus stop this morning and she seems super nice. They're also friends with another family we're getting to know and I just love living in town and meeting new people and finding out they're friends of friends. This is everything we've wanted in a neighborhood.

H was just in an interview for the restaurant for a national show. I can't say anything public yet, but it'll air sometime this fall. He was so nervous, but I thought he looked adorably professional.

It was back to school night at the middle school--I really really liked DD1's teachers--I felt that they are all super reasonable in terms of expectations. DD1 comes home from school so excited. They do block scheduling so it is a 90 minute class-and you can just see that the teachers are used to teaching in that time because they are super animated. I e-mailed them all at the beginning of the school year about her 504 plan, and they were super responsive. There are some teachers in the past that were fine---just TERRIBLE with communication. I really feel like this will be a good year for her.
But man am I exhausted---two hours of back to school night is not for the weak.

Had 3 back to school meetings for the kid yesterday. Normally they don't fall on the same day so it was ridiculous. MH did child care and I did the paperwork and sitting through the meetings. Both boys are happy because they both have their favorite teachers again.
Baby Blurnette is another story. We found out yesterday that her K teacher is still on extended medical leave. However she didn't inform the school in a timely fashion that she was extending it, so they are now scrambling to get a permanent sub. We won't have a teacher for at least 2 weeks and of course as the schools are all short staffed, they are asking us to keep her home if possible. It is for us so we will, but ughhhhhh. Not how I was hoping the school year would start.
Also they changed the school policy this year to allow for birthday cakes in school again, but only if it's a homemade "healthy cake". I know what they mean, but it's hilarious to me how different it is to the US. (Healthy cake means not traditional sheet cake and icing but instead typical Portuguese cakes that are filled with nuts and such). I'm going to fudge the rules and make zucchini bread with chocolate chip cupcakes for DS2.

It's Korean Thanksgiving next week and I splurged ordering Korean groceries. We were going to celebrate this weekend but I forgot a critical ingredient for making rice cakes so we might have to wait. :\

Omg. This made me chuckle so hard. My kiddo struggles with too many choices so it was on point. Like my gosh I am sorry I offered multiple options for breakfast 🙄 Last weekend we were on the beach and my kid was so mad at me because I didn't bring him his shoes to the water. I was like, did you ask me to bring your shoes? He said, NO BUT YOU ALWAYS DO IT WITHOUT ME ASKING! So... I think I need to stop being too nice or something? |

On my third day home with the sick kindergartener and praying we're done with the puking portion of this bug.
Mentally preparing myself to go homecoming dress shopping with DD this weekend. Fitting rooms, overcrowded stores, crabby teenagers...and we'll add in a judgmental friend & her judgmental mother to shop with. Maybe I should see if my nephew has anymore gummies he can share with me.

My 7YO had his first rec league soccer practice yesterday. There are already so many kids playing in multiple leagues and so much more serious about soccer and just generally more athletic than my kid. This is the first year they’re playing games in addition to practice and I just hope he has fun and doesn’t get discouraged. This is also the first time H is coaching and I did overhear a lot of parents saying good things about him.

I'm having my weekly door dashed First Watch pumpkin pancake 🥞 and getting laundry done.
MH and DS are going to a car show this morning and I'm heading to San Antonio soon. My uncle is having a chef come to his house to make a fancy meal for my grandma's 92nd birthday.
It's a lot of driving for one day just to have lunch but worth it for my grandma. I work tomorrow so I can't stay the night.
