I love making our traditional pita and burek, and I have always made the dough by hand, but I recently saw an influencer using Kitchen Aid to do it and her dough turned out amazing and super stretchy. I think I've finally decided I should get a Kitchen Aid or something equivalent, but there are so many options.
So tell me, what do you have and like that's great for dough mixing?

My boss is going away for two weeks and returning right before our next board meeting. We just reviewed everything I have to do while she's gone and I am already wishing for her back.

Not to jinx what’s happening in my house but dd did her homework yesterday all on her own. I didn’t have to ask or remind or anything. It’s never happened before.
My son did this with his piano practice and I legit could not believe that he decided to just do it without any reminding.
It doesn't happen too often like that, but I was happy to hear it and see it lol.

It's such a tricky spot to be in because you want to praise them for their initiative, but if you call it out it may disrupt the universe and never happen again.

We have a family reunion this weekend and I am trying to decide whether I want to go or not. I haven’t seen most of my family since before Covid, and it has been so nice and relaxing. But I do miss certain people, and it’s supposed to be so nice at the lake. Maybe I can do an hour and then we can split. I just don’t want to hear any conservative talk from my uncle. I really don’t want another family fight.

So, this is as random as it gets for me. Spur of the moment...got a nose ring when I took my DD to get her second holes done.

lucilleaustero I got mine pierced in April as well as a conch in my right ear and I'm so excited to get a few more small ones in my ears. DH asked if this was my midlife crisis 😂

I am going to be 47 in 2 months and the words " midlife crisis" have come up a few times in the 5 days I have had this.

I always want a new piercing. Next week is Friday the 13th, so lots of shops will have specials. If anyone needs encouragement. 😉

I told myself when I lost fifty pounds I'd get one - just a few pounds to go. Granted, that's the fifty that I'd gained since making the original bargain so I'm still fifty away from the goal weight, but whatever.

H is going to coach soccer for the 7YO this year. Kid is generally not the best at taking instructions from us so I hope they’ll both have fun.

This is week 3 of school here. DS 2 started preteam at gymnastics this summer. He loves it but it is 3 hrs 2x a week. So now I'm taking DS 1 to tennis near the gym because of course he wants nothing to do with gymnastics. I'm fine with him doing the sport he is interested in and he likes tennis so far but it is a challenge logistically.

The deal was when you lost 50, which you've (nearly) done. Treat yo'self.

I'm also about to get some more piercings. Well, specifically, re-get them. I took them out for my wedding (20! years ago) and just never put them back in, but now I find myself missing my helix and rook.

I learned today that the guy who founded Chuck E. Cheese also invented the Atari. His name is Nolan Bushnell.

Ex husband's family has 23andMe drama and I am here for it. I guess ex-BIL found a "nephew", and after some social media stalking it seems like another BIL had a fling while in the Marines 16 years ago. He isn't denying it but also is saying he had a broken leg and was on pain meds so he doesn't remember for sure if he slept with anyone 🙄

I was living vicariously through every post. I don't know if I could have sat on a net above shark-infested waters, but one can dream... 😂 I’ve swam with them twice! Once on this trip and it happened organically. I was swimming in front of our room and saw a shark next to me. I was so excited, I ran back to tell my kids and MH was like, “ummmmm, maybe don’t tell them that.” So I went back in the water to look for more sharks. I understand something is wrong with me. omg you sound like my uncle. He lives in Mozambique and lives spearfishing and told me about a recent event where he was attacked by a small shark (he was not bitten and fine) but I replied so you'll stop spearfishing right? He guffawed and was like no you just have to punch a shark from time to time! 😶😶😶🫣

Is this where I tell you the other time I swam with them, we took a boat to the middle of the ocean, chummed the water and I jumped in? 🤣 lol yes, you and my uncle are the same person.

Are kids still haven't started school yet. One week for DS1 in 6th grade and the following week for DS2 and baby blurnette. We find out today who all the teachers are for the classes and next week we hopefully get supply lists. I normally am chill about past minute things but September is also the month of my anniversary and 2/3 kids birthdays and an old friend is coming to visit for a week. Sooooo I'm a little stressed!

DD1 had some highs and lows yesterday. She LOVED her STEM teacher-and loved that we had to sign a waiver letting her use chemicals and open flames in that class.
However not many kids she really knew are in her classes. I did know that none of her friends would be there because she is honors classes. Her lunch is also screwed up so no one she knew is at lunch with her.
She didn’t seem to have a great first impression of her ELA teacher. Apparently she is super sarcastic and DD1 felt not approachable because of that. However she is super sensitive (DD) and hates getting into trouble and has anxiety so I told her to give it a few days. (My email communication with the teacher was very different than her first impression). I think she was more pissed she got homework on the first day of school. 😂

Apparently sixth grade honors math just skips from 5th grade standards to 7th grade standards, so the kid got her first 70 on a quiz, but otherwise, she is good!
She wrote in her planner, “70% on quiz. Teacher said class average was 69 and for nobody to freak out or cry because there are a lot more grades to go. Totes fine!” So she took it well. lol.
There is a big shift in the amount of work in general, but I think she’s going to be ok.
