Welp. That sucked. Half marathon time was 2:32:23 so no sub 2:30 but still a PR for me. It also started raining at mile 7, pouring at mile 8, hailing on us at mile 9 and that’s when they officially closed the course. But I guess that just means they take down the aid stations and you're on your own if you want to keep going? They had a van picking people up but they didn’t force us to leave. Like I'm 3 miles from the finish line I might as well try. But it was awful. Being pelted with hail is a fair enough reason to miss my goal time I guess. By the way, none of that was in the forecast 🤣 It was supposed to be sunny and humid. I would definitely try that race again because I think it would be a fast course if you weren’t running through ankle deep puddles lol.
::sigh::

bunnyfungo Congratulations on the race! It sucks that the weather turned, but fantastic job on finishing in those conditions!

30 min 90s rock ride today. Didn’t go hard, took it like a recovery. Today and tomorrow are scheduled rest days but I want to try out my new shoes tomorrow - we’ll see if I can get moving before it’s too warm

Congratulations bunnyfungo!! That sounds rough, but kudos to you for finishing, and with a PR! My last marathon was in freezing rain and a headwind for the first half of it and it was so miserable. Really have to dig deep for the motivation in shitty conditions. Great work!!!

Morning.
I did a 45 minute ride with Robin and a 5 minute stretch. I hit the ride a lot harder than I expected to be able to given that my legs are pretty fatigued and creaky today. Felt good.
Food prep this afternoon then yoga tonight.

Race day!!
My fam ended up doing 2 different relay teams. It was SO fun.
I did the sprint distance swim which was shorter than advertised but somehow felt harder than it should have. Anyway We both got 2nd (out of 3) so we got podium medals and swag 😎

I had to miss run club yesterday morning due to kid sport activities but did a 60 min easy run with Suzy today on the tread for 5 miles.
I saw my trainer last week (wed maybe? Thursday? No idea) and was pleased to be able to do modified push ups a bit more comfortably now. Push and pull movements are weird for me with all the surgeries and scarring etc. Def getting better though!

bunnyfungo, that sounds terrible for running conditions, way to stick it out and push thru. You definitely have to do that race again in good conditions!!!

i have had zero runs in days and i really need the outlet. C had a tourny all weekend. Yesterday was 10+ hours at the field. We came home wiht 2nd place.
sports tonight the same time as run club, thinking of dropping kiddos off 20 mins early so I can make it to run and then go pick them up. Idk if that will work though.

Morning.
I'm home with DD2 who said she wasn't feeling good at bedtime, then spiked a 101 fever this morning. Ugh. I did get to workout longer and later at least, but man, this house is so gross. I'm super boogery today too and I'm crabby about it.
30 minute interval run with Logan 15 minute pop run with Susie 20 minute upper body strength with Matty 5 minute stretch with Marcel M
Yoga tonight. Keeping food on point too.

I actually did all my workouts last week, so yay for that.
Still struggling a lot with food. My insurance will cover a dietician, so going to give that a try and see if even just having that accountability helps.

Got my standing desk set up. I'm going to HAAAAAAAAATE this for a while. What was the goal behind the suggestion? Is it going to be helpful for that? How long are you trying to use it for each time you get up? My assistant drove me nuts with hers because she was up and down every 10 minutes. And she fidgeted the entire time she stood. Which- productive for movement. Obnoxious for someone who has to look your general direction.

He thinks I'm dealing with derangement in my neck and a pinched nerve because of my posture, which admittedly was terrible while I was working at the kitchen table. So this should help keep my neck from dipping down. Starting only 30 min at a time for right now and I'll work up to around an hour at a time. I got an adjustable so I can sit at it too. I'm still WFH so I can fidget away. LOL

You work up to it. You need to raise your laptop or get another monitor. Looking down is a huge contributor. Your shitass employer should have fixed that eons ago.

Between taking care of my mom (I have to go back up there tomorrow for a few days), dealing with terrible allergies and the temp changes (although trust, I'm happy fall is here), and side effects from the flu/covid vaccines, I haven't done much of anything in days except a meditation before bed.
Le sigh.

bunnyfungo, that is so bad-ass! I remember bowing out for a measly 5k race as it was going to be in the pouring rain the entire time. Goldilocks, Party of One, right here. Great job, beepers!

I posted the set up on FB last night if you want to see it. Just didn't have the room to set it up until I got the desk, I put it off too long. My own fault, not my boss's.

I would really like it to stop raining so I could get out for a walk after my very short run this morning, but I don't think that's going to happen.
