Hello.
I never checked in yesterday. I had PD all day and the way the timing worked out with both H and I wanting to run, I had less than half an hour to workout. I did a 30 minute run with Adrian and barely made it out the door on time, which made me immensely pissy. When I go back to work in two weeks he will be working around me, not the other way around. I've been doing 4am for a decade, so I rule that roost. Shove off, H! I did a 30 minute yoga last night too.
This morning I got in a longer run. I did a half marathon paced interval run with Becs and a sloppy, slow mile to an extra 10 run with Susie for a total of 7.2 miles. I did a 10 minute stretch with Robin and will do yoga again tonight. Food will be on track.

Bench yesterday and a bike ride didn’t happen.
Run today. Slow but not entirely zone 2. Want to increase mileage so went a tiny bit farther for 3.5 miles.

Monday's workout tried to kill me. Apparently he was being nice with the last month and now is when I die. Sets of 10 on squat. Lovely. Plus some bench. Plus accessory stuff.
Last night started ok with bench, then went downhill. I've been going to a different gym, but I hate their chains and their benches aren't great, so I went to my "normal" gym for the night. I don't like being there by myself. When something goes wrong I spiral off way too far. I take way too long between sets and end up there way later than I need to be Plus only half of the lights work, so it's dark by the time I leave. The other gym I have been going to always has someone there, or someone could always show up. So. Back to there I go.
Food has been ok. Well last night I was too pissy and we had taco pizza.

Hi, I haven't been checking in but I'm keeping up with the HCOF calendar. I haven't really felt like running since the marathon in the end of April, I've only done 20-30 minute runs on the Tread a few days a week for cardio, but I'm starting to get the fall race FOMO so I'm ramping my training back up and starting to plan longer runs. I did 4.5 miles yesterday and it's the longest I have run in 4 months.

Evening workout ✅
I had the option of a rest or a short run for my 5k plan so I chose the run.
- 20 min Walk + Run with RK - IT Band Routine - 5 min Post-Run Stretch with Alex

Today was speed work day and I was so not excited lol. Workout was 10 min warm up, 3 x 6 minutes at 9:15 pace with 2 min recovery, 10 min cooldown. My actual pace for the intervals ended up being 9:26 but I’ll take it because I decided not to take the shortcut on my loop to avoid hills. I think I got like 3.8 miles in total.
Also I noticed during that run that my shoes felt pretty dead. I looked on Strava when I got back and my Rides are at 350 miles. Damn. Those miles come at you fast when you train for 5 races over the summer.

I'm always like "but hoooowww?" when Garmin alerts me that I've hit 400 miles on my shoes.

But I guess I was feeling spicy today. I blame it on listening to Chappell Roan 😅

Been absent a few days. Fighting a stomach bug or something. Went for a walk today just to move because my anxiety started ramping up yesterday with the lack of movement Hoping to run again Sunday.

Morning.
75 minute PZE ride with Wilpers 5 minute core with Tunde 5 minute stretch with Emma
Yoga tonight. My left IT band where it attaches at my knee has been aching. It only bothers me when I'm sedentary and my muscles are tight. If I'm moving around or working out it feels fine, I assume because the muscles around it are warm and looser. I should probably take some ibuprofen and ice it since it hasn't magically gotten better on its own over the last few weeks since it started.

coldcoffee, I hope you start to feel better soon! bunnyfungo, cnf, I don't know if I rotate between too many shoes (a cushy one for long runs, a less cushy one for regular runs, and a harder pair for speed workouts, plus dedicated trail shoes) but I feel like it takes forever to get to 400 miles! Or maybe I just want new shoes too quickly!

Speaking of runs, I missed a couple of days of low temps but I got out yesterday when it was still dark and only 68(f) for two miles. This morning is wfh day so I didn't have to get up early so I got to enjoy 5k in sun and only 60 degrees. Last week I wasn't ready for summer to end (or at least the idea of it) now I'm like bring on the crisp mornings and chili and sweatshirts with shorts!

sewfi2, I'm with you on so many shoes. I think I have maybe one pair that is getting close to being tossed. And ITA about it being so much nicer to run in cooler temps.

It’s probably because my whole life seems to be a black hole for time. Like how are we already back to school?!

Another 39 min base run for 3.4 miles. Tomorrow is long run day and I need to run out and grab some gels or it’s going to be a mess. I should really start ordering them online. Especially because I’m picky about flavors.

Brick today. 40 min on the bike and a 20 min run. Arms felt better on the bike with the saddle adjustment which is a relief. Run was supposed to be “first 5 min fast” and 😮💨😮💨 I was! Apple Watch is dumb and wouldn’t let me do a segment for the 5 min. But I saw sub-10 pace when I checked HR/time so. 💪🏻🤣

This morning, while the temps were so nice, I did my first 5k of my 5k race plan, accompanied by Matty’s 45 min Walk + Run, and I’m focusing feeling pretty good during and after and not my tortoise pace.
After, I added on:
- 10 min Post-Run Stretch with Andy - 10 min Full Body Foam Rolling with RK - 10 min Quads & Hamstrings Foam Rolling with HC

Definitely got my butt kicked the rest of the week with training, but it was good butt kicking. Still struggling with keeping food on track, but not gaining now so progress!

Also I got a call today and there might be an option for an airfare and hotel paid trip to a meet in Australia. Need to work out if it works with my schedule, but might be happening.

Morning.
10 minute warmup ride with Dr. Charlotte 30 minute 90s ride with Mila Extra 10 ride with Robin 5 minute core with Tunde 5 minute stretch with Emma
Yoga tonight is non-negotiable. I'm grilling chicken now so I actually can food prep. Yesterday I just scavenged and ate trash food. I need to tighten back up.

So much cracking and even a little pop now and then (hello hips and knees) and note to self: “Stop sleeping on yoga!”
My whole body feels so much better.

Yeah it works for me if I’ve selected a run or walk, but for some reason I can’t ever get it to work if I’m tracking under “multisport”.

Interval run again this morning. Whew it got hot again 🥵 Sprints felt pretty good but I was definitely dehydrated by the third interval. Backed off some after that.

Morning.
20 minute interval run with Matty 20 minute interval run with Jess Sims 15 minutes upper body strength with Ben 5 minute stretch with Camila
Yoga tonight.
DD2 has dance company intensive all week and I cut it pretty close with that hour to getting us out the door on time. I work tomorrow though, so I set my 4am alarm so I can get in a nice, early workout.
