Did my half today. I felt wayyyy better during and after than I did with my first one in Seattle. I feel like the course was longer than it was meant to be, or maybe I did a lot of weaving and dodging and taking wide corners. Official chip time is 2:30, watch says 2:27, Strava says 2:22. Lots of reports in the FB group of people of people saying the distance was underestimated.
Anyways, I wanted sub 2:30 so I’ll take it. Took 5 min of my PB. I feel I could have pushed more.
Great atmosphere, and the second half of the marathon was our half course so saw lots of familiar faces from run club. Had a great time!

Congratulations on your half!! Glad you had a great race!

Congrats on a great race! Way to get a new PB!
The distance you run in an official half marathon race will inevitably be more than the actual half distance. The official distance would be if you were running perfect tangents the whole way. But also, Strava, etc are usually not going to be completely accurate with measurements in race distances because there can be GPS drift or signal loss.
If you’re ever really concerned in a race about keeping a certain pace, then the best way to track is to set your watch to manual laps, and hit the lap button at every mile.
Ugh, I dislike my parent's treadmill immensely. I don't understand why it's so hard to run on!? It feels like running on sand covered concrete. I miss my tread. I tried to get out before the rain today and it was clear while I got ready. Opened the garage to leave to a complete downpour. Gross. I thought about it, but I ultimately went downstairs, begrudgingly.
Channeling my grateful feelings that they have a fairly extensive workout setup.
20 minute interval run with Kirsten 20 minute upper body strength with Ben
I need to do some yoga today. It's been like a good week since I did any.

I ran for the first time in about a year! A 30 minute walk and run with Matty for 2.1 miles— barefoot on the beach! Felt so good! Also did a 10 minute lower body barre with Hannah C, and there’s some SUP in my future.

We had an active weekend! Saturday: 15 minute pilates and just under 3 mile run Sunday: hike to the beach Today: 30 minute morning yoga, and a 1.5 mile walk with the kids. They go back Weds and I am so ready for routine again!
I got out for 5 miles this AM (after blowing off yesterday). It was long and difficult. I’m hoping once the humidity breaks I will start feeling more confident but as of right now, the half is looking too daunting.
Doing a pretty good job sticking to my run plan. Yesterday I ran 10 miles and felt pretty good the whole time. My half is a little less than a month away and I think I'm in pretty good shape.
I was looking at last year's results for my age bracket (40-44F) and the top placing woman finished in 1:20 which is like...less than 6'30" a mile. WTFFFFFFFF. I was hoping I would get in the top 3 but damn, there are some speedy bitches in my group!

We have some serious local speed demons in my age bracket too.
Hi all! In an attempt to dip my toes back into some fitness, I started a 75 soft challenge today. My main fitness goals are to use the stepper I brought to work every day and stand more at my desk during the day. I'm also going to be working on a better nighttime routine which includes either reading or doing cross-stitch before bed instead of watching TV or mindlessly scrolling TikTok and getting to bed by 10:00 pm every night. I woke up this morning and the first thought I had was how I couldn't wait for bed tonight , so I'm hoping to tackle my constant exhaustion that way.

It's SO rude!!! Stupid town with stupid fast runners!!!

Today was a 39 minute “base run” for 3.6 miles. I sped up at the end. I had a half mile long 7% grade hill up to the appropriately named High Bridge and after that my heart rate was shot. So why not just push it and make it a tempo run lol.
Deadlifts/bent over rows this morning followed by a swim this evening. My watch died during the swim (boo) but it felt pretty good. Weights feel better too and I’m not TOO sore.
Also did a bike ride on my mtn bike yesterday. Went a bit too far for the first ride on that bike. My arms were not happy but I adjusted my saddle some when we got home. I’m considering a gravel race next month.
Also TMI I had some weird skin issues (not chafing exactly but owwwww) “down there” during my bike portion of the tri last weekend, so also assessing that and making sure it was a one time thing. Very thankful it healed quickly.
20 minute glutes and legs with Adrian 5 minute core with Callie 10 minute stretch with Wilpers
I wish I could do more, but yeah, that's it. I'm good. I can't wait to be home tomorrow and get to use my tread. We'll get home really late though because we have the celebration of life for H's cousin tonight.

20 minute interval run (1 min on/off), and 20 minute pilates to hit 500 strength classes! I have a long string of meetings today, so that might be all I get to do, unless we ride bikes up to meet the teacher this afternoon.

Morning workout done and the low 50s temps were glorious.
- 15 min 90s Run with Kristen which I used to accompany W4/D3 of my 5k plan and another fartlek day; my running paces were in the low 13s and while keeping my heart rate in Zone 3 and I felt really good the whole time - 8 min Strength and Mobility (5k plan) - 5 min Post-Run Stretch with Matty
40 min run with intervals. I was a full minute/mile faster each interval than the last time I did this workout mid-summer. I also negative split my paces, except for one because that one was uphill. I love summer but I love this too.
Congrats on the race, cnf. I hope that wine was extra good in your new glass!
jaidit, if it could have reached, by jaw would have literally been on the ground seeing that pic, so beautiful! (the hilly run one; the beach is awesome too though) Also, happy birthday!
jorkzy, congrats on the race and pb! Shaving off 5 mins is a big deal!
I'm just sorta chugging along. Been better about avoiding foods that make my body sad. I haven't been on many runs, but they have been longer. Yesterday I did 7 miles with a few sprints in the middle. The weather was slightly cooler, it would have been even better if I had gotten out earlier. I'm so antsy for crisp fall mornings!

Today was a 50 minute base run for me. I had a really hard time staying in zone 2 for some reason. Which is surprising because it was like 65° out when I did my run and based on my pace I should have been easily in that zone. Bodies are dumb.
