Congrats to everyone who had races this weekend!
We did a family hike on Saturday and DS2 crushed it! He's not really an "outside" kid, so I was expecting a lot of whining/complaining and had a plan B in mind for turning back early, but he did great! The total mileage was almost 7 miles and 2000 feet of climbing.

Yesterday I did get out for 2 miles. My pace was faster than expected, but it was a struggle. Today was 20 min strength for runners and I’ll get a walk with MH after dinner. Tomorrow is an office day so I am up in the air on what to do (having a hard time getting up with the early alarm)

I took a “rest” day yesterday (that still included walking 5 miles and doing some heavy lifting).
This morning I did Tunde’s most recent intervals and arms. Hard in the best way.

Morning.
I picked up 10k to a 60 minute run with Mariana and followed it up with a 10 minute stretch. I loved the structure of that class and will absolutely bookmark it and take it again.
I need to fire up the grill to make some chicken, but I just don't wanna.

I don’t think I’ve checked in in a while but I’m still trucking along. Did a mile time trial last week with run club. I’ve only ever done them on treadmills before so this was an experience at the track. Hit 8:40 but I think I could have pushed harder.
Then spent the weekend walking around San Francisco (beautiful! Hilly!), then yesterday had my first session with a trainer for strength work, finished it up with a progressive approx 6km last night. I’m sore today haha.
3 weeks til my half!

Yesterday, 20 minutes of yoga, and some short walks (I started my new job!) Today, 20 minute glutes/legs, 30 minute slow walk/run (working on running with my mouth closed and only breathing through my nose, and it's hard!), and a 25 minute walk during a meeting

After that I need to be able to breathe through my mouth to keep my breathing in check. I'm a decent runner, so I'm not put out by my lack of ability to nose only breathe at faster speeds or harder efforts.

I'm deep in myofunctional therapy to help correct teeth grinding, ect., and this is a specific challenge from my running buddy/myo therapist, along with other tongue and lip exercises. I certainly have to keep my heart rate VERY low to make it managable, but I'm able to nose-only breathe for most yoga and strength.

I almost entirely nose breathe during yoga since I'm a slower nose breather and I try to keep my breaths per minute as low as possible. Strength, I guess I do a combo. Big exhales are mouth, but the rest of the time I nose breathe. So many repeating words, oh my gosh, lol.

An absolutely awful, hot and humid 5 miles for me. I better be so fast in the fall.

Took the foster dog out for a shake out run and I haven’t been exercising her as much lately and she definitely quit on me halfway through. Whoops.
10 min warm up walk with Jess Sims 20 min hip hop run with Joslyn (excellent throw back play list) 20 min yoga for runners with Kristen
I also had my weekly massage/torture session for my back and shoulders. I finally felt like there was progress. I still have a ton of knots but they are moving up my back and smaller. The lady says a little bit better. I’m stretching, foam rolling, and doing mobility stuff multiple times per day in between sessions. I just let it get really bad. I do actually feel like it’s getting better.

I did Wilpers’ 30 minute PZ Max from last week. It was only 4 intervals (3 minute zone 5, 2 minute zone 6, with rests in between, repeat) but those zone 6’s were killer. Followed it with a post ride stretch and then PT.

Got 3 miles on the tread this AM. Still needs to be serviced, but I couldn’t drag myself up to run before it got hot… but it’s done.

I swear I posted this morning? Now I'm curious if I never did or if I accidentally posted it to a wrong thread somewhere. Hmm.
20 minute pop punk ride with Ally 30 minute PT endurance run with Becs 5 minute core with Callie 5 minute stretch with Camila
Yoga tonight.
That ride was delightful. The playlist was amazing! And I even enjoyed the run. I normally find endurance runs on the treadmill boring, but using the pace targets made it feel more like a real, programmed workout instead of just a steady state slog.

I got out for a 10 min warm up walk with Kirsten and a 20 min interval run with Marcel. Then a 3 mile walk with friends. So lots of steps today.
Peloton finally added a search bar to the app and I think this will save me years of my life. I spend so much time searching for classes because their filters suck so much.

I've had a search bar for forever in my app? Are you Android or IOS?

I’ve never had it OR I completely missed it (I really don’t think so, BUT….) it seemed new because it was like “try” and then had examples of things to search for.

I have Android. I know some times they're weird about rolling out some features first for iOS versus Android and visa versa.

Heat and humidity are killing my motivation right now. I have another week before I need to get “serious” about training so …. If I can squeeze in a treadmill run tomorrow I’m still ahead. We have so many parties and events and soccer starting up so time is suddenly scarce.
