I skipped run club mon and wed this week because of the heat (36C/110F at 6pm? No thank you) and also bc I’d have to bring my boys along and that didn’t sound like fun for anyone. Focused on foam rolling and the exercises the physio gave me for my knee.
Last night, I went paddleboarding down the river for a couple hours with my SIL and some friends and omg it was the best. Beautiful night, still hot but not stifling, no bugs, great views. I’ve lived here 30 years and never seen the city from that perspective. Loved it. Also the fire/rescue boat was out patrolling and stopped to take selfies with us 🤣
Then this morning was 1h easy run with the run club. Back at it!

I took a rest day yesterday, and did a 45 minute PZE this morning. I’m so tired and so over the heat.

Ugh. Really gross long run. It was supposed to be 8 miles with 2 at HMP. But I cut it at 6. It is so incredibly hot and humid. I should have known when I could barely keep it in zone 2 for the first 3 miles. When I pushed it to half marathon pace my heart rate jumped to zone 5 😬 For that pace I’m normally high end of zone 3. It took so much walking and shuffling to bring my HR back down after those 2 miles that I just decided to stop at 6. It didn’t seem worth it to go two more miles when I barely felt like I was moving. I’ll try again next weekend.

I had a weekend away with my H, so took it pretty easy but we did do a 10k yesterday morning.

We hit up the canal this morning to go kayaking. We didn't go as far as we normally would because both girls were just whining and miserable.
Came home and did a 45 sweat steady ride. I grabbed a PR on the ride because woof, those sweat steady rides are brutal. Followed up with a 5 minute core and a 5 minute stretch. Yoga tonight.

I didn’t close my move ring every day this week but I did close my exercise and stand rings. I’ll take that as a win. Today I did a 30 minute Green Day ride. My daughter kind of “discovered” Green Day yesterday and I love that she loves it.

Still struggling but today I went for an hour-ish bike ride. CD1 too, giving me a 25 day cycle and no thank you to more of that. 😒😒. But I did it and planning a run tomorrow

Yesterday morning I was at my parents’ house, so I did a 30 minute barre and 10 minute light arms.
This morning it was hard to get up, but I managed a 30 minute intervals and arms with Camila.

Morning.
45 minute pop punk run with Becs 10 minute chest and back with Selena 5 minute stretch with Marcel D
I've skipped yoga the last two nights, so I need to get that in tonight. Also, the playlist for that run was fantastic! Highly recommend.

CF this morning. Lots of deadlifts and wall balls. It was MUGGY, even at 630. I've always gone to the gym in the mornings to beat the heat in the summer, but I don't ever remember it being this humid that early for so long. It's been weeks now.

I got up to catch a live yoga class this morning, but apparently it was raining inside PSNY, so I ended up doing a 20 minute on demand morning class, and then a 20 minute glutes and legs strength class. I got a 2.5 mile walk in after getting my kids where they needed to go.

well hello there my friends! oh how i missed all of you! I am not caught up in this thread nor will I be as I just don't have the time to do so. I hope everyone has been healthy and kicking ass. I just returned to work from vacation and it was not a dumpster fire so yea!! Work is still busier than ever and I discovered just how much stress it adds to my daily life. I am determined to reduce the stress. I've been running and canoeing and stretching.
Today is an interval run after work. Followed up with 20 mins of strength.
Food: B: high protein egg scramble burrito S: cherries L: grinder salad D: tacos with black beans and rice.

I've hardly been around this month, but I'm on the last week of the PZP challenge. I managed to finish all weeks on time despite getting sick the same week I started my new job. Such is life, right?
The next challenge starts August 12. I need to decide if I want to keep going, spend some time focusing on strength, or find a way to balance the two better than I have been.
SD has been using my Peloton app for pilates and arms classes to prep for her role on the drumline as marching cymbals. She's not used to holding her instrument, and I finally convinced her that she needs a little muscle on her bones. She accidentally scored my 300th strength class for me, but I clearly wasn't getting there very quickly on my own!

Hello.
20 minute 90s hip hop PT run with Adrian 30 minute interval run with Robin 5 minute core with Robin 5 minute stretch with Marcel M
Yoga tonight. Those pace target classes are so tough. Damn you for holding me accountable, Peloton! I wish they made them easier to find. Without them on the app I've barely been doing them because I hate wasting my precious workout time scrolling on my tread. I went through the OD library today and just bookmarked all the most recent ones since they don't add them to the collection either.

I'm kind of addicted to the C4 Skittles flavor now. I blame SO.

Ran home from work, a new challenge as Paris is a shitshow before the Olympics - lots of road closures etc to navigate.

Oh. Hi.
So I made weight on Sunday. 89.5kg, so only overshot by a 1lb instead of a whole kg like I usually do. And then had the most amazing peanut butter sandwich of my life (as I hadn't had starchy carbs in several days).
Squats- got 2 out of 3. Get credit for 225 kg (496). Lost my balance a little with 235kg (518) and couldn't recover. Bench- went 3 for 3. Last attempt of 152.5kg (336) was initially a no lift from the refs (called for up and down movement), was overturned by the jury Deadlift- went 3 for 3. Last was a weight I had done before but forced my competition to load up a 22 lb PR to attempt to beat me. She couldn't get it off the floor.
Total- 585 kg (1,290). 2.5kg total PR. Won my weight class in open and masters (my competition is in both, so it's all or nothing for us!). Ended up 5th place overall based on formula for the open, 2nd place overall in masters.
I am eating entirely too many carbs right now and taking a week off while I run a meet this weekend. Then going to cut a few more kilos so I can take out my teammate who decided to come over to my division and knock me off the top spot in masters. Pro series finals in December is next for me.

Hello from Denver! I got my new watch today and went on a run. I did 5K just for the badge 🤣 I ignored my heart rate and just went for what felt nice because I’m sure the elevation is messing with my heart rate anyway. I still don’t know how to do…basically anything on this thing lol. I keep pushing buttons and hoping for the best. I did notice that when the garmin syncs with Strava a bunch of extra charts come up that aren’t there with the Apple Watch. I’m going to spend some time playing with my new toy now!

Congratulations GhoatMonket!! I watched one of your lift videos you posted and it's just bananas how much weight you lift! It legitimately blows my mind. bunnyfungo which Garmin did you get? Once you figure it out you'll be hooked and never run with another watch. I got my first Garmin like 15 years ago and have never looked back.
