3 mile easy run is done. I was able to stay in Zone 2 for the whole run even when I ran up what little hills my neighborhood has lol. Feeling really good and it’s a beautiful day.
I do have one annoyance though. I’ve declared this the summer of giving no fucks and I’ve been running without a shirt, just my sports bra. Even got a bunch of cute ones to psych myself up (which is not the point but everyone should do this!) All of that and because of the angle of the sun and body position while I’m running, my stomach is still as white as the skin beneath my watch wristband 🤣 It’s so rude! I should probably be glad because the sun is bad, but my runner’s tan is ridiculous y’all.

Morning.
We powered through and drove the whole way home yesterday. It's an 11.5 hour drive, then factoring in the number of stops the children require, it took 13 hours, but it's worth it to not have to drive today.
20 minute interval run with Jeffrey 20 minute hard style EDM run with Jess King 5 minute core with Rad 10 minute stretch with Logan
Yoga tonight. The zero stretching I did all week has left me sore and creaky despite being wildly behind on mileage. I needed that stretch and I'm excited to do some yoga tonight.
We promised the kids Cracker Barrel for lunch today after we opted not to stop at one in Albany last night to sleep in the parking lot, otherwise it'll be grocery shopping and back to cleaning up my eating. I feel gross.

I skipped the last 2 days (family fun but no energy to wake up early 😅)
Went out for a brick today, 1 hr ride and 15 min run. My legs hurt. Gonna try and recover recover recover.

Got in 7.04 miles for the 4th and I was dying in the heat! This morning wasn't as bad- a little over 5 miles in a group run.
I have been so up and down about food and it is showing in my running (that 7 mile run was really awful) and my skin. Ugh. I think I've about bottomed out again so I should probably just get my shit together instead of waiting to actually hit bottom.

Our air conditioner appears to be on the fritz, so I didn’t sleep good and tried to nap when DS went down, but couldn’t, so I worked out instead.
25 min strength 30 min incline walk
I need to stretch tonight because I am so sore today.

I think I forgot to check in yesterday but I did 3 miles.
Today I did a 7 mile long run. In the morning! You guys should be so proud 🤣 Although early for me was still 7:30. I would die with those 4am wake ups some of y’all rock. Overall it was a nice run. I stayed in zone 2 for the whole thing except for the last half mile where I bumped up the pace a bit. I always get a little excited when I’m almost home.
Also, when does deer fly season end? Soon? Because I could really do without being chased and bit by flies. So over it.

3000 yd swim for me this morning. I’m taking a break from the bike today, but I may try to squeeze in a short strength workout later.

Morning.
30 minute PZE ride with Wilpers 20 minute recovery ride with Sam 10 minute stretch with Kendall
Yoga tonight. I skipped last night because the kids were up way too late.
My parents are visiting today so my food will likely be questionable.

Ugh we did a chip timed half marathon this morning with my run club and I DNF’d 😭 It was hot even though we started at 7am. My first 8km were good, good pace, felt solid, then the next 8km was like slogging through mud, and at 17km (11 miles? Idk) my knee started feeling wiggly and sore and I was like “welp we’re done here” So disappointing but I guess it’s good it wasn’t a “real” race?

17km is awesome jorkzy! While disappointing to not finish it’s more important that you didn’t injure yourself by pushing too hard.

I woke up earlier than usual to get in 4km before work. Seriously like 10,000 empty beer cans on the streets after last nights election results (💪💪)

Sorry you're unhappy with your DNF jorkzy. Remember though, 17k is still a far AF way to run, so you still really did crush a long, hard run.

Morning.
I picked up 7.3 much needed miles to a 60 minute run with Becs and an extra 10 run with JJ. I stretched and will do yoga tonight.
I have chicken marinading to toss on the grill tonight for salads and I'm so excited to eat vegetables, you guys. So much junk food lately, ugh.

jorkzy, I'm sorry about your DNF, but also knowing when to stop is a win regardless. And also 17km is no freaking joke!

I did a 20 minute summer recovery ride and 10 Minute cooldown with Sam Yo this morning. PT scheduled for the evening. I did that summer recovery ride yesterday, it's so good! I don't ride with Sam all that often but he's such a sweetie I always enjoy him.

That sucks jorkzy, but yes, knowing when to push and when to call it good is a good thing.

Listening to your body is how you don't end up with chronic hamstring tendinopathy, jorkzy. Awesome run all the same to the DNF.

I almost forgot it was a new month! I started my next Half Marathon plan today. I’m trying out Hal Higdon’s Intermediate 2 this go around because I want to have some speed work in there and the plan calls for races on weeks that almost perfectly aligns with my 5K and 10K races coming up this month and next, so I already have those factored into my training plan. I’m also reading 80/20 Running and trying to give that a true shot. I’m not super great about actually staying in Zone 2 for most of my runs. It probably only ends up being once a week or so if I’m being honest. So I want to attempt to actually stay in Zone 2 for all of my easy runs over the next 12 weeks. I figure I can’t get any slower 🤣 But man, I picked the wrong day to start. Because it’s 85° out and I am not at all acclimatized to the heat. Like it’s been in the 60s basically since spring. So I was sloooooow to stay in Zone 2. Got in 3 miles though. Tomorrow is my first speed session! I really need to read this book. My heartrate skyrockets when I run, even though I feel like I'm crawling. I checked my zone breakdown after my last run and it was in zones 4 & 5 the entire time.

I haven't checked in yet this month, but I managed 11 miles while we were on vacation last week over 3 days. Took Saturday and Sunday off, then back to CF this morning. I signed my kids up for the CF Kids program which is MWF. Their first class was today. No, I didn't give them a choice in whether they were signing up or not, and yes, they survived this morning. Today they had 5 rounds of 100m run, 10 elevated push ups, 10 sit ups, and 10 air squats. DD even said that it was fun.

I rarely hit zone 5 and if I'm zone 4 long enough it'll eventually run me down.

No formal exercise for me last week. We were in Tahoe so I was busy walking and swimming and playing ping pong. Lol. Also eating all the things. It was a good recharge. The lake was absolutely beautiful and I felt the best I have in awhile.
Yesterday I did a 20 min r&b walk to keep my peloton weekly streak alive.
Today I’m back to my schedule.
30 min Kacey Musgraves walk + run with Matty 10 min cool down walk with Kirstin 10 min core with Logan 10 min lower body stretch with Hannah C

Took a rest day yesterday and my gosh I needed it. DS and I both napped in excess of 2 hrs.
Today was a 40 min zone 2 run. Went on the treadmill because it’s just easier. Did some weights while DS was at swim. I wish I had an extra 15 min there, didn’t really get any accessory work done but deadlifts were moving today and I lifted more than I have since May. (Intentional between taper/race/reverse taper but the weight moved easier than I expected 🎉)

I woke up at 5:30 this morning and couldn’t fall back asleep so I actually got up and went for a run. I don’t even know who I am anymore. I got in a little less than 3 miles because I ran out of time at the end and had to cut it short in order to make it to work on time. I felt like absolute garbage. I was trying to figure out if it was because it was a morning run or because of my long run yesterday. But then I got my period and yeah. That would be it.
