Intriguing. Does it work for mosquito bites? Even ones that are a couple days old?
My personal experience so far is only with fresh mosquito bites which it has worked GREAT on, but the reviews seem to indicate that people do get at least some relief even on older bites!
I will +1 this- we love this thing and it works on fresh bites.

I bought myself a shoulder brace with heat and vibration to help some of the pain issues. Tried it out this morning, not too shabby. We'll see how it helps long term while I'm lightening my weights for a while and doing some home rehab.

Today was 6 easy miles for me. I’m struggling with the Garmin’s heart rate detection. I feel like my Apple Watch did a better job. The Garmin keeps getting stuck or something. Like it will get to a number and then stay there even if I very obviously slow down. I’ve never felt like I needed a chest strap until now. And I’m very grumbly and annoyed at having to buy another thing for my watch to be useful.

Hi! I had run club Monday and ran about 4.5 miles Wednesday night was another run club and I was able to get over 3.5 miles in. Also fit in a 20 min yoga for runners yesterday. Gonna try to do more yoga today.

I am so tired. Final push for the summer semester at work and I am moving my own personal art studio, so any bit of free time I’m frantically packing. I slept in a little, but got up in time to do a 20 minute low impact ride with Denis.

Howdy.
I took the dog for a half mile walk this morning then DS and I did 2.5 miles in the stroller through my parent's neighborhood. I skipped yoga last night because the lack of sleep caught me and I passed out, so yoga tonight.

Did a *little* bit of swimming yesterday, but it was in an outdoor 50 meter pool so that was fun! 😅 (srsly how do Olympic swimmers go so fast?!!?)
Today I found a local gym to drop in and did 40 min on the bike followed by modified squat workout. (Would have done squats but there was one rack being used by dude-bro so I swapped for goblet squats). Shockingly my Z-press wasn’t as awful as I expected.
Overall still impressed with myself for working out when away from home and finding ways to just get it done. Go me. 🤣

It’s a rest day for me. But going off my last post…does anyone here have the garmin heart rate monitor that clips to your sports bra? I’m trying to decide if I want to get that or just a regular chest strap. I like the idea of it just attaching where I already have something but Idk how it would work if you were wearing a long line sports bra. Because I wear those a decent amount now that I’m team “suns out, tums out” 🤣 If anyone has one I’d love to hear your opinion on it.

I have not tried it, but I've owned (and still own) my fair share of chest straps. I mostly use an arm band style one since my usual running watch is pre-built in HRM. I'm surprised yours is being so twitchy. My Garmin VA4 has no issues. Have you reached out to Garmin? They may just send you a new one if it's a legit issue. They replaced my 920XT when it took in water and died, since it's meant to be swam in.

I’m going to mess around with it a little bit over my next couple of runs too because I know with the Apple Watch the results would be weird sometimes if it was too tight or too loose on your wrist.

bunnyfungo, I have the regular Garmin Pro chest strap, I looked into the clip when I had to replace my last strap but I was like you, I wasn't confident it would get the same read. I love it, I get really good data from it. The battery is super easy to replace, it's just a CR2032.

40 min on the treadmill today for an easy run. Of course one of those magic unicorn runs that felt amazing the entire time, like I could have kept going and going. Sigh. I did not keep going because I have a brick tomorrow.

Just did 1 mile tonight. Tomorrow morning is my 5K with DD3 so I didn’t want her to run too much since there was no way she wasn’t going to run at all. I always let her set the pace when we run together and it was 11:43 for the mile. She rated it a 4 out of 10 for how hard she ran. Her goal is 35 minutes and I think she can hit it because she was actively chatting away with me at that pace. Luckily, I can still be her pacer for her goal, but y’all, my 8 year old is going to be faster than me real real soon 😅

I’ve been spending all my posting time with politics because, well you know. lol.
But I’ve been plugging along. After three weeks of head neck and shoulder massages I found my lord and savior in a small, older lady named Pat who absolutely savaged the knots in my back with her elbows and forearms. I had cupping like bruising after but my shoulders are in the best shape they’ve been in forever. So I’m booked to repeat a session with her next week. And I’ve been doing lots of shoulder stretching and mobility work.
I also got a PR by 6 points on a 30 minute ride today which was a bit of a surprise. It was on a Hannah C country happy hour ride that I was just doing to get some movement in. But I was close to my PR the whole ride so just kicked it up a notch the last 3rd and did it.

Morning.
I've also been spending a lot of time over on the politics board.
But, this morning I got out for 4.25 miles and my legs were cruising! Three out of my four miles were sub-9, which felt good too. Going home today though, so yoga tonight and then back to my bike tomorrow.
Olive Garden again today, ugh. But we're seeing H's aunt and uncle who we haven't seen in a while. Their son who's my age passed away a few weeks ago, so we need to see them.
I'm excited to sleep in my own bed tonight for the first time in over a week, but I will miss running outside everyday.

5K with DD is done. She didn’t make her goal but she did get second place in her age group. Poor thing was in first place for the whole race and in the last tenth of a mile a 9 year old zoomed past her and she didn’t have enough kick left to beat her. I feel like that’s worse than losing by a lot 🥴 She already wants to do another race so hopefully we’ll be doing some more running together.

Went out for my Brick today despite being REALLLLLY comfy in bed.
Legs are tired as expected after the last 2 days. My right lowe back/upper butt/hip weren’t feeling the best. The run was awful. Started to get some super sharp pain just above my inner knee (cramp? Idk) but I walked and it improved. Got a lot to do today but also focusing on recovery this afternoon. Looking forward to meatloaf and mashed potatoes 🤤

Second place in her age group is still an amazing accomplishment! How great that you can be running buddies!

Went to OTF yesterday, and it was a fun run/row and then “press and squat” theme on the floor.
Today I’m in the car for 8 hours so not doing too much. But I signed up for OTF near my MIL’s house next week.

My SIL mentioned wanting to do the half we did two years ago. We’re going to start the 12 week plan and see how it goes. We really need to get our treadmill fixed if I’m going to be able to make it work. Guess I start running tomorrow !

Checking in from vacation and countryside! I ran 4km 2 days ago and 7km this morning. It feels so so nice to be running in fields rather than busy streets.

I was moving my studio yesterday so I missed my usual Wilpers ride. (Also, I am pretty proud of myself for my studio move. I hired movers, but I have a lot of heavy equipment and I packed it all myself, took apart all my shelving myself, all this past week, and with no AC!)
But anyway, I did Wilpers’ ride today. It was so much fun! A 60 minute ride, all zone 2, all covers/re-mixes playlist. Highly recommend.

Morning.
I'm home and so happy to have slept in my own bed and reacquainted myself with my bike!
5 minute warm up ride with Dr. Charlotte 20 minute hard style EDM ride with Jess King 20 minute climb ride with Olivia 10 minute arms and shoulders with Andy 5 minute stretch with Emma
I just ordered groceries. I feel wildly puffy and gross from all the eating out and junk food this past week. I need a hard reset today.

I did my race this morning. It went pretty well considering how little I’ve been running lately. The hills wiped me out but I only had to take two short walking breaks to catch my breath after. The weather was perfect and I loved the huge crowd (16K runners) and all the bands that play in the sidelines. I’m so tired now and definitely need a nap.

Today was 2 easy miles with DD and then I wanted to keep going to get to 5 or 6 miles but the sky started to look like a scene out of Twisters so I booked it home for a little over a mile more. I made it just in time too because it started pouring as soon as I got in the house.
For anyone interested in my Zone 2 journey I thought I’d share that I just started week 5. When I started I had to run at like 13:30-14:00/mile just to keep my heart rate in zone 2. Tonight’s miles with DD were at a 12:30 pace and most of that was actually in Zone 1. So I still have to run my easy runs at a slooooow pace but it is getting better and taking less time than I anticipated. I was also able to run that extra mile tonight at 10:00/mile pace and I was at the low end of zone 4. Five weeks ago that would have been almost Zone 5. Just figured I’d share and be transparent about my numbers because I feel like people don’t always give all that when they talk about the benefits of Zone 2 training. I just wanted someone to tell me how long it took them to get faster by going slower 🤣 So far I would say it’s worth it and would recommend toughing out the few weeks where you feel like an absolute sloth.

Good morning! H and I ran a race this weekend. He came in 3rd overall for men in the 5k, I came in 3rd in my age group for the 10k. Pretty good for neither of us training for it. I haven't raced in a LONG time (I think my last was a half in 2022), but I'm thinking I'd like to get back into it. A fall half would be amazing, but I've done the Detroit International Half 3 times and am kind of over it. I need to look into something else that I can work toward. CF this morning was back squats and lunges which obviously isn't ideal on the day after a race, but I went easy and it felt good to loosen up my heavy legs a bit.
