I just finished an oldie by Rebecca Yarros called The Last Letter. It was really good. Sad. Check your trigger warnings. 5⭐️

I paused P&P about 15% in I think because even listening to it, I was bored. Am I kicked out? 😂 I am trying to read/listen to classics, but I couldn’t get into it. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood. The narration was good. I don’t even attempt classics

That might help you visualize the story/add context/make it seem less dry if that is your issue.

It was… okay. I liked To Kill a Mockingbird. But that’s a lot more recent. Animal Farm was okay and it was short at least lol. I think I do tend to have trouble with the older language from the early to mid 1800s so that’s likely part of it.

I need dragons, fairies, murder, or some sort of beach gossip to escape into books thanks. There ARE a few classics I enjoyed in school but only a few. I’m not seeking them out now.

I finished Funny Story by Emily Henry. I enjoyed it, not my favorite of hers but it was still a good time. On to Yours Truly, plus also listening to The Flatshare on audio.

I borrowed Pride and Prejudice on audio from Libby, because I LOVE the movie (I walked down the aisle to one of the songs from the Kiera Knightly version). I am having a hard time getting into it. It has taken almost an hour to get as far as it took the movie to do in three minutes. I just feel it dragging, and I love the story too much to start resenting it, so I might return it early.

I loved Pride and Prejudice when I read it a few years ago but it did take a long time to get into. I think once I fully adapted to the language and got immersed in the world it really picked up

I think once I fully adapted to the language and got immersed in the world it really picked up I’m the same. I’ve read Pride and Prejudice a few times and I absolutely love it but it always takes me a bit to get into the flow. I also don’t think I could listen to it, though.

I just finished The Return of Ellie Black and it was a solid 4.5 stars. It took some unexpected turns that separated it from other thrillers with similar plot lines. It looks like this may be the authors only thriller. Hopefully they will write more.

I just finished my 3rd Abby Jimenez book “Just for the summer”.
I give it a ⭐️⭐️ I had high hopes since it took 2 months on hold at the library for it to finally get to me, but I found it to be pretty boring especially considering the characters were in their late 20’s. Cute parts to it but overall meh

I finished Husbands and Lovers yesterday and really liked it. It was my first Beatriz Williams book. I need to go back and read some of her older works.
Started Sandwich last night and I’m already like 35% into it. Will be a quick read.

I just ended up buying it. I was hold number 743 out of 50. It would have been November or December by the time I got it! It’s definitely summer read so I didn’t want to wait. So far it’s worth it but I think you have to be in a certain place in life to relate as well.

I hadn't heard of this book but just added it to my wish list. Boston and Cape Cod are my bucket list destinations in the US so I usually enjoy books based there.

I finished A Game of Gods yesterday. It was good but a little tedious. I like heh addition of Dionysus’ perspective. I have moved on to the last book, A Touch of Chaos. I am already a quarter of the way through it.

I finished The Unmaking of June Farrow a few days ago. I would say it is 3.5 stars, but I rounded down on Goodreads. I really liked the writing and the story, but there were some big holes and the time travel stuff didn't fully make sense

I read Bad Tourists and mostly enjoyed it. It was a quick read with many twists, most of which were on the ridiculous side, but I was entertained. 3.5 stars.
I also read Don’t Believe It by Charlie Donlea. It’s my first book by him and I really liked it, so I’m excited he has many others. He has a tendency to get a bit wordy which slows the pace a bit but otherwise I thought it was a fun thriller. 4 stars
I’m reading All the Colors of the Dark now and I have high hopes for this one. 🤞

I finished Yours Truly yesterday - I loved it, even more than Part of Your World. I have Just for the Summer on hold but it's going to be a long wait lol.
Hopefully swinging by the library today to pick up the latest Veronica Speedwell and one of Ruth Ware's books (Turn of the Key).

I went to the library with the kids yesterday to get books for DD1, but saw they had the new Ruth Ware, so yay.
I’m now 76% of the way through Covenant of Water, so I’m almost there lol.
I will probably finish Swan Song today. It’s been pretty good. I have realized that I don’t think I like Hilderbrand’s writing style that much, lol. I like her books, but the jumping around from different views and especially the “we” perspective is a little grating.
The Merriest Misters is very cute so far, and I wish I were reading it during the holidays. But that’s what I get for picking it up as an ARC. 😂 I also found the third Ex Hex book (The Wedding Witch) on NetGalley and grabbed that, so I will read it prior to spooky season.

I read The Rom-Commers yesterday, mostly during our 7 hour drive. It was so good! Sweet and sad and charming. Just what I needed. I really like Katherine Center.
