This - but first do a social media sweep to confirm she's not part of a MLM scheme. I know, I'm a cynic but it's hard to weed out if someone is legit going to be a decent person, is just going to ask me to cart their children places for them, has a secret plot to murder me and steal my identity, or will try to sell me weight loss shakes. I blame Lifetime TV and TikTok. Touché. I'd probably also want to weed out any MAGA because I don't have the time or energy to deal with that fuckery. Oh yes. It's hard to spot stupid, but the hats make it easier. (or the FB profile frames)

Have a great trip!! I think not bring here is the correct call. I don’t want to do another power outage event. Like we just did this a few weeks ago!! How are you guys doing? We are at my mom’s since she has a generator. Pictures from the neighborhood aren’t great. Trees and fences down everywhere. I’m nervous about our roof. Home power hung on until 11 but just went out. Guess we will be staying put for awhile. My gosh. So over this.

We've identified some good potential friends in the area but we haven't had the time to reach out to hang out and I desperately would like to.

jaygee, we went to SF on Friday to escape the valley heat wave. It was our first time to Candlestick Point, and I'm just now learning the cool history of that area! I don't follow baseball enough to know Candlestick Park was demolished years ago. I thought the Giants still played there like in my youth when Tony Gwynn was on the Padres 🤦♀️ I still look for it every time I pass that area on the freeway. I oddly miss it even though I know it was a dump. It was our dump. That’s a good spot to beat the heat in though. Hopefully nature’s air conditioning (the bay winds) treated you well. That's going to be me if San Diego ever demolishes Jack Murphy/Qualcomm/whatever it is now stadium. We were in San Diego most of last week so your bay winds were a welcome relief after one night in the valley

We are on vacation and my H has lost the key to the rental car. He also somehow left his phone on the plane. It somehow fell of his pocket. Luckily, he realized it pretty soon after we de-planed and tracked it. They had found it and we went back to gate and they had it at the desk. But seriously, let’s get it together.

29 years ago, H and I had our first date. How can it seem like yesterday, but also so long ago.
DD2 slept until 10:10 this morning. But she was real tired after waking up at 4:15 yesterday morning. I used the quiet time to walk on the treadmill and work on some laundry. Going to spend some time gathering more stuff to donate from my basement then hitting the pool for a few hours.

Man we landed home from our Alaska trip a week ago and I caught covid or something on the plane home and still feel like crap a week later. Obviously glad it didn't happen while I was there but I would like this to go away now please.

Feel better spicysalmonrollI'm not sure what I've got but felt exhausted yesterday, sounded like my voice was going when I was in a meeting, and felt winded walking to the car when I left work. This morning I felt like crap so called in sick - which I was afraid to do since it's my midyear review today but thankfully my boss was quick to agree that I should say home and said he's thinking he caught something over the holiday too.

Day two of my new job. I really like it more today. Yesterday I just felt so awkward meeting new people. It was that whole “I don’t know what to do with my hands” feeling all day. 😂
And man, I had forgotten how fast crawlers are. And there are eight of them!

I avoided Covid for almost 4 years and now have it for the 2nd time in 7months. I don’t feel that bad at all. The timing this time is horrendous with my work schedule but 🤷🏼♀️

It is July 10th and people are STILL shooting off fireworks. Tonight being the worst since the fourth, but it has been every night. I am hoping the volume tonight means they are using what they had left.

I'm chicken-sitting and I was talking to my 3YO about the eggs I got from our friends' chickens and he said "chickens give us eggs AND chicken nuggets" and I was like well, they are a little different........

We're getting our other house ready to rent and apparently insurance companies won't write a policy unless we remove the wood stove. The wood stove is inside of an existing fireplace so removing it will give the tenants access to the fireplace which I would think is less safe. So dumb.

So dumb. weird that does seem dumb Apparently they're fine with the fireplace. 🤷🏻♀️ I've been less than impressed with our insurance agency lately though so I'm shopping around. They claimed they couldn't find a carrier to issue a policy for our new house because it's old and the only option they came up with was astronomically expensive and State Farm issued us a policy without any issues. I just contacted our agent there and they said they don't have any problems with wood stoves. I always thought working with an insurance agency with access to multiple carriers would give me better choices but that has not been the case with them so I think it's time we moved on.

I was shocked they still exist AND they are still expensive. 🤣🤦♀️

H still uses his from high school as a civil engineer...so I'm assuming it's still pretty standard.
