HOW is it July already?
The carnival is here this week- it's the place to be for all the middle schoolers (DS is going with his girlfriend tonight!) so my evenings will be spent riding the ferris wheel and eating sub par ice cream. I'm not mad about it.

I can’t believe it’s July already
This is going to be a slow week at work so I have books ready and I’ll get ahead on some training because after this it’s going to be super busy until probably September

angelashly, nice to have a calm week before a busy time! Summer is my busy time at work which always bums me out because I want to do all the things. I took Friday off so I'm looking forward to a long weekend but we don't really have plans yet, and H has to work Saturday. Our schedules are not really lining up this month which stinks. DS and I will have to have an adventure.

This summer has been hard because I usually have vacation time. I’ve started to accrue but also I’m still in my 6 months so I haven’t been able to do anything.
If it was just me at home I wouldn’t care because I had 6 months off basically but I do feel bad for dd. She says she is fine though she gets to sleep in and do things at home

Summer is flying by now that we have a pool 🤣 I didn't want it that much but now I'm really glad we have it. The upkeep hasn't been as bad as I expected either so far

My mom is visiting and her and I sat on the patio late last night talking. A bunch of teenagers was running around my neighbors yard hiding behind their cars and stuff, yelling (bad) stuff about the girl that lives up the street. Idk if it was a prank thing or if they really were being mean to her. I stood up and yelled at them and they ran through a ton of yards. I could hear them still farther down the street for awhile
The house with the girl in question has so much drama in general. The mom got divorced and literally just lets her kids run wild now cuz she has a new boyfriend. It's not the greatest situation 😬

I have a fence and cameras so they didn't mess with my yard but omg I'm gonna be so annoyed if this is gonna start being an ongoing thing

I just thought I lost my debit card- I stopped for coffee this morning and then couldn't find it at lunch time. I ripped everything apart, called to report it lost, and then promptly found it sitting in the middle of my desk. WTF, brain?

Our AC died at some point in the middle of the night and I woke up to an 85 degree bedroom. Thankfully it was a minor problem and the temps are finally dropping into the 70s in here as it cools down.

Oh, and it's my first day of WFH for the month, so I had no escape by going into the office.

Glad it was a quick fix bobyn! Our AC blew a few years ago during a heat wave and we had to replace the whole thing. Still paying for it!

I feel so dumb! I've had a few kind of spacey moments lately and I'm afraid this is the beginning of, ahem, some hormonal shifts I got together with a friend I've had since 2nd grade over the weekend and our conversation turned to how often we space out or forget what we're doing. We had this conversation while standing under the a/c vent in the antiques store we were at because we were both overheated. I'm not ready for this.

I would sell my left tit for a pool, and that's the best one. I'm so over schlepping these kids to the aquatic center, and there's so much summer ahead of us.
But years of saving have paid off, my new fridge arrives on Friday and I seriously might cry when it goes in. I HATE the one we have so much; it belongs with the house so we are moving out to the garage as a drinks fridge. Which feels like we've really arrived, lol.

I just said yesterday my greatest regret is not buying a house with a pool. I was not meant to be dry in the summer. ETA also congrats on the fridge! A garage fridge is another thing I covet.

Ours is a soft side above ground and I love it more than I thought I would. Is that an option? Eta it's an Intex rectangular 12x24 and there's so much space

I know my kiddo would love a pool, but I don't want an actual factual pool, and this seems like a decent (and not $$$$ compromise). Does it stay up year-round, or do you take it down after the summer?

Does it stay up year-round, or do you take it down after the summer? This is the first year. I've done some reading and people do leave soft sided pools up all year long. Pretty sure that's what we are gonna do. I've heard it's a nightmare storing soft side if you take them down because they have to be completely dried out before storing. We plan to just hire someone to winterize and see how it goes! It also took like 3 days to fill from the hose so I cannot imagine dumping the water and refilling yearly 🤣

ponyhairs once it was filled we let the kids swim for a day or two before we added chemicals because they were so excited. We took a sample and got a starter kit from a pool store which was kinda pricey. But we are maintaining with chlorine from Walmart. We have two floaters with chlorine tabs and shock about once a week or week and a half and that's it so far. It comes with a sand pump which is nice. We cover it nightly which helps immensely and then we only have to run the pump like 6 hours a day instead of 24/7. Were still new and learning but so far so good!

Garage fridges rock!
I'm SO OVER my job. This year I just wanted ONE THING to be stable and I am working with a bunch of sociopaths. Private equity companies are greedy and evil.
Luckily it's a short week. This weekend I'm going to a pool party, a local blues fest, and then camping for one night on the coast with my cousins. It's going to be really hot here!

I am in my week between jobs, and it’s great. I don’t think it has sunk in yet, because I was at my last job for almost 18 years.
We are trying to figure out insurance, though, since I carried everyone for so long. Ugh, I hate all this paperwork stuff.
Therapy tonight, and I don’t wanna! I mean, I should and I will, but I hate going and talking about emotions. I am not good at deep emotions (and yes, that’s something I am working on…in therapy).
