Do those classes only work on the tread? Like I can’t use them on the app can I? You can, but you won't have the speed ranges based on the level you select. You could probably watch on and write down the speed ranges associated with each zone, then you could do it on any treadmill. I did like five of those classes, all at level 8, and I would never have remembered any of the speed ranges off the top of my head. Nothing a note wouldn't fix though. That’s apparently how Powerzones was originally— little post its for all with zone ranges. I definitely want to try this when I am cleared to run! … should of kept reading. No app access. Hopefully they’ll add them at some point!

60 minute PZ class with Wilpers this morning. Zones 4 and 5 focus. It was killer right from the start (7 spin ups in the warm up!) I dry heaved at one point. Got it done though.
Getting a haircut this afternoon and going to see Mike Birbiglia tonight!

Hopefully they’ll add them at some point! I think they will because apparently Wilpers made a comment at some point about having them on the app. I imagine it'll show speed ranges. When I beta tested it the ranges were on a bar with a little dot showing where in the range you were running at. Looks like they made some serious adjustments to the layout and metrics display since I tested it though, based on the images I'm seeing. I'm looking forward to doing a couple this week.

I got out for my morning camp run this morning and did 2.2 miles. I never run long or far when we camp and I always treat them as slooow runs. I hit up the rim trail above the lake and there were a few spots I had to really slow down, and even walk since I don't have a lot of technical trail running skills, or trail running shoes.
We plan to hike the lake loop later this evening, so another few miles on my feet there. I'll squeeze in a 5 minute core tonight too.

Race Day!! TL,DR I crushed it! (Sorry it’s really long but I’m putting it here anyway)
So this is the same race course I did last year too (sprint tri). My goal this year was just to beat my previous time.
I didn’t warm up for the swim today and was MUCH happier and warmer. Water temp was great with a wetsuit. I didn’t go quite as fast as last year but wasn’t off by much (less than a minute) and my arms felt SO much better. 💪🏻
It was chilly so I debated bundling up for the bike (ear band, jacket, leg warmers) but the sun really came up during the swim so by then I felt better (also see above I didn’t start cold lol) and just went with the ear band. Good choice. My bike was a few minutes faster this year (about a mile/hr faster on average) and also just felt WAY better overall. My watch was dumb and didn’t switch over until 1/4 of the way in… so not sure about HR at first. I could have maybe pushed harder, and there were times I was mentally kicking my brother (and bike guy) who assured me I’d “not need the big wheel” because I definitely could have used it today.
I’m most proud of my run. My zone 4-5 pace has been like mid 11 minutes and I just wanted to see what I could do today. A lot of times in the past, I think I really tried to sprint too hard. So about a mile in, I was feeling okay, legs were more tired than my HR/breathing, and that was encouraging. Guys. I RAN THE WHOLE WAY, no walk breaks and hit my all-time 5k PR of 35:28 for an 11:05 min/mile average. I cried lol. Exactly 5 minutes faster than my run last year.
Overall I was just a little over 7 minutes faster this year, in the top half for my age group, and well within top half of women overall. Anyway thanks to all of you ladies for support, encouragement and commiseration. 🫶🏻🏆

I got myself out of bed and over to the Y to swim this morning, only to have the lap swim session cancelled because the lifeguard couldn’t get there. (I love Pride, but it wreaks havoc on the subway and bus routes. So I walked back home, changed into workout clothes, and then went back to the Y and did a 5K on the Arc, and a weights circuit. Glad to have gotten it done even if it took longer than anticipated.

Awesome job getting a PR beepers! I did an 8k charity race today, which I had done a year ago. Much improved this time, I was 10 minutes faster! It’s also in a local park that is loops of half steep hills, and I felt great the whole time 💪 Feels really good after a disappointing race last Sunday!

30 minute intervals and arms with Cody and a 5 minute core with Robyn for me today. Follow-up appointment with my surgeon today and I’m tentatively scheduled for an injection. We’ll see. I’m hoping for a timeline of when I can start running again.

Morning.
I didn't get up until 4:45 today, but I did get up, so that's the win. I did a 30 minute interval run with Susie, then got interrupted by DS and DD2 both crying and screeching, so I dealt with that then squeezed in a 5 minute core and a 5 minute stretch. Yoga tonight.
I'm going to let myself adhere to something is better than nothing between now and June 26th, my first day of summer break. God, it is still too far away.

Monday, again?
- 20 min PUTV 1, W2/D1 Lower Body Strength with JS (So far, I think I made the right call with with working through the PUTV collections as 3 days/week of strength is definitely enough for me with working on slowly increasing my running mileage again) - 5 min Core with Robin (my abs felt like they were in a vise the entire time so that's good, I guess) - 10 min Lower Body Stretch with Callie

Cortisoid injection done. My doctor said she did as little as possible because it degrades the tendon (and in the foot, that tendon, which was just repaired, is small), but hopefully it’s enough to finally kick the inflammation. If not, then we’re looking at another round of PRP. Sadly, this will not be the summer of running for me. It will be more PT and possibly PRP. I think that means the NYC marathon is definitely out, but I’m keeping focused on London in April. And I’m still going to keep up endurance with cycling and start to build up mileage on the arc.

Solid weekend - 2.5 mile run with the family (DD ran with us, which is really fun!) on Saturday, and a 5k+ hike on Sunday. There was a fresh Orange Juice and cookie stand on our way back from the hike, so we helped fund the little girl's trip to Disneyland. 20 minute power yoga live this morning, and a walk with my neighbor in a bit. Our (elderly) pup is not doing so well, and it's killing me to not have her able to go around the block with me. We have a trip later this month, and I'm planning to pick up a new running buddy when we get back!

Sunday was the 113th annual Dipsea race and I was on a volunteer crew starting at 6:30am, which was super fun! I clapped for so long during the race that my watch thought I was running, hah.
My desire to get a spot in this race next year has been renewed, it is such a cool event and very old-school and quirky the way they stagger the waves by age. And there are kids as young as 6 years old running by themselves, and men and women well into their 70s running. It's pretty cool. My volunteer location was on a downhill so I got a lot of smiling faces and "thanks for volunteering!"
Today I have the HCOF stack and a 20 minute HIIT ride with Hannah F queued up, plus the 30 minute walk back to the shop to collect my stupid van.

I finished the None 2 Run program today. Having C25k to compare it to, I will give the edge to N2R because with a 12 week program vs 8 weeks, it repeated some weeks twice so a beginner could get more confident in running longer and pushed the 20 minutes of straight running until much later in the program. I appreciated the "ease in" approach having taken a break from running for a few months. It also emphasizes running slowly so that the intervals are doable, which even I need a reminder as my tendency at times has been to almost sprint the running intervals, especially when they're shorter, and wonder why I'm not enjoying the workout all that much.
I've got my eye on their 5k racing program next so I can work on distance and speed but will likely do what I've been doing the last few weeks and pair with a Peloton run (or walk/run) of equal duration as I really do love the coaching aspect of Peloton.
- 32 min W12/D3 N2R paired with Matty's 30 min Kacey Musgrave Walk + Run - I saved the walking for the warm-up and a few minutes of cooldown after my 30 minutes were up. I loved his playlist and the conversation and just Matty in general so that's one I'm bookmarking for later.
- 5 min Post-Run Stretch with Wilpers - I have this one bookmarked as it's 80s hair music - mostly to Skid Row's "I Remember You" LOL.

Run club last night was 5k progression run, which felt good. I need to work on pushing paces - my default is slow/easy but I think I could have gone harder.
I was looking at my Garmin watch data last night, and since I got it in Jan, I’ve logged over 400km running (about 250 miles). Which is wild to me! It adds up!

Howdy.
I'm home today. I burned my unexplained use it or lose it personal day so I can go to DD1 track meet this afternoon. But I means I've been home alone all morning, which has been delightful.
120 minute PZE ride with Wilpers 5 minute core with Callie 10 minute stretch with Wilpers
Foam rolling tonight. I won't have time for yoga what with softball tonight for the girls, but my legs will need something. Gone are my days of being able to ride for 3 straight hours and still have energy afterwards. Woof. I'm tired now.
