I finished Fate Inked in Blood. It was pretty good but a little predictable. I am glad I read it and I look forward to a second book coming out.

I just finished "The Road of Bones" by Demi Winters a Viking inspired romantic fantasy, with a bit more emphasis on the fantasy and I think those of you that liked The Serpent and the Wings of the Night series might enjoy it. It starts a tick slow but it picks up pace pretty quickly and I ended up really enjoying it. Apparently the second book is supposed to be even better.

I started Summer at the Saint last night. Seems promising! I was reading Summer Romance but was struggling to get into it. I think after years and years of rom-coms my brain is completely over and done with them. I’m reading it now. I got a chunk read yesterday so I’m interested now

So I was kind of surprised how good the audible sale is right now- audio books on par or less than kindle prices. After recent recs here I picked up Powerless, The Phoenix Crown, Savor It and the Road of Bones. I also have Not in Love downloaded and Ruse of Shadows (eek!) comes out next week.
I also have My Lover's Lover, A Week to be Wicked (have I actually read this before??), Our Wives Under the Sea, Red Rising, Angels Blood, Flowers From the Storm, and Olivia and the Masked Duke on my kindle. I need to buckle down and READ.
I'll finish up the last Maisie Dobbs today. It's been melancholy, definitely a good bye.

I gave Fourth Wing another shot - I'm halfway through and yeah, I get the hype. Totally not my normal genre but I'm loving it.

I finished Light Bringer which is book 6 of the Red Raising saga. I really like this series and I can’t believe I have to wait a year until the final book comes out.
I’m also about 1/3 of the way through Mistborn and it’s meh so far. People seem to rave about it so maybe it will pick up but so far I’m struggling to care

The Libby app recommended Nora Roberts Inheritance to me so I downloaded it. About four chapters in, I realized I thought it was a Nora Ephron book (I love her movies). I like Inheritance book though and may have discovered a new to me author to binge read! Edit: clarity

I just finished the audio version of Mysterious Affair at Styles, Agatha Christie's first Hercule Poirot book. I've never actually read them, so figured why not? It was good, the narration was solid but I did have trouble remembering who some of the characters were. But I'm looking forward to more. Luckily right as I finished that this morning, Everyone on this Train is a Suspect became available, so looking forward to starting that.
Still making my way through Will of the Many. I don't know what's up, I find the story interesting but I just am dragging on reading it.

Edit: clarity I'll admit that I grabbed Inheritance as a gift for MIL because I too was thinking Nora Ephron - but then was confused how she was still releasing books a decade after her death. But MIL loved the book and can't wait for the sequel so I'm thinking I need to check it out as well.

I got it for Christmas and we also bought it for my aunt for Christmas and she also loved it so I know what my Christmas present will be again 😂😂

I finally finished Still Life by Sarah Winman and overall it was...ok. Lovely descriptions of Florence, Italy and a few lovely characters, but too meandering for me overall. If it was 200 pages shorter it would have been an absolutely delightful read. But I just don't overall enjoy books where character study is more developed than the plot is; especially when some of the characters still feel very flat.
I'm picking up an indie romance called Always Mine by Laura Pavlov next for a quick read.

I got a huge chunk read last night so I have about 100 pages left and I’m so glad I stuck with it and can’t wait for work to be done

I read 15 books in May.
Currently listening to Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date by Ashley Herring Blake and reading Angels Before Man by rafael nicolás on my Kindle. Lots of LGBTQ+ books for Pride this month!
I’m trying to get as much reading in this summer as I can. I start a full time job in the fall so my reading time will be cut down by a lot 😫 (I am excited about the job though!)

I finished a few books recently.
Game of Lies was ok, kind of slow. I gave it 3 stars.
When We Were Silent and Summer Romance were both decent. I gave both 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. I almost quit Summer Romance at about 15% but ended up liking it.
I just finished The Final Act of Juliette Willoughby and really enjoyed it. The first half was slow and I did guess the twist pretty much immediately but other than that it was a great read.
I was planning on Not in Love and just read the intro in which Hazelwood says it’s less of a rom-com and more of an “erotic romance” and now I’m not sure if I want to continue lol. Her cringy sex scenes are my least favorite part of her books so I don’t know if I’m going to enjoy even more of that!

I finished Phantom by Jo Nesbo and immediately jumped into the next one, Police (#10). This series is not like the best thing ever, but I've slowly been making my way through it for years. It's one of those ones that you just get used to the characters and is easy to pick up. I think there are 13 of them, but the newest one just came out in the last year so I'm sure they'll keep coming.
I'm also deep into Off to the Races. I ordered the versions of that series with the new covers, and they only come out like one a month from July - November so I;ll probably read that series slowly. My mom got me the full Chestnut Springs series for my birthday so I am beyond excited for that one.

Yeah I decided to start The Rom-Commers instead, which is probably more my speed. I may come back to Not in Love, we’ll see, and I’ll let you know how terrible it is if I do lol.
