What’s the latest info about getting a booster if you had the J&J shot? I thought you should get an mRNA booster but my sister is saying they don’t need it. I’m just curious. I believe there is more information coming this week. There is a meeting to discuss J&J boosters on either the 14th or 15th. I'm hoping they determine that a mRNA booster is effective for those of that got J&J. If it's determined you need J&J booster then that is fine, too, but either way we will know more soon. I do feel pretty good about my J&J shot. It definitely protected me during our terrible August/September. Still to eager to get formal guidance on next steps.

I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible headache and cold/hot flashes, but I was able to go back to sleep after a couple of hours and woke this morning feeling pretty much normal. My arm isn’t even really sore anymore.
All in all much better experience than I was expecting, and nothing compared to the side effects of the second shot.

I saw a study that people who got a second J&J got up to 96% immunity, closer to the mRNA level. If I see it again I’ll link it for you. ETA and we have been giving people who got AZ (a non mRNA) either a Phizer or Moderna dose and they’ve had the best immunity compared to everyone

My dad was able to get a booster at a cvs. Walgreens was being weird and he called me saying so. So I told him to go to a cvs instead. They gave it to him no questions asked. So I can breathe now. Was this with Moderna? They were strange about me last week too. They were like "this is for immunocompromised". Yep, what do you need me to sign. I signed a form and got my shot.

Some people are still changing their minds, just very, very, excruciatingly slowly. After finishing their “research”. 🙄 My MIL who is finally starting to feel better 14+days later mentioned getting it. And her anti-vax nurse friend also scheduled her 1st dose. APPARENTLY being so sick for so long where you want to give up living makes you realize that maybe, just maybe you should've gotten it in the first place.

Ah yes, that was our experience with our anti-vax relative. It turns out thinking you’re going to die alone on your basement floor is scarier than a well-studied shot. Who knew? 🤷♀️

But I got moderna and plan to do the same when I’m due for it.

I have woken up sometimes sweaty and sometimes cold the past two nights and thought maybe menopause, but vaccine side effects make a lot more sense.
