I find it ironic that this is the thread that I start posting in, but I love love love beer! I'll drink almost anything but lean toward IPAs and pale ales. Also love anything on nitro. Favorite breweries are Founders and Shorts and fav all time beer is bells 2 hearted. Shorts brewery is also owned by my family so I'm partial (it's mostly just in MI and some of the Midwest for now). Can't wait to drink a bunch this weekend!!

My husband loves Founders' beers. When KBS gets released each ear, he spends and entire day driving from distributor to distributor, since most here put limits on how many you can purchase. I just tried kbs for the first time Mother's Day weekend. I think imperial stouts are too sweet for me. That beer was like drinking a piece of cake! I personally think KBS is over-rated.

We're driving past 3 Floyds this summer so that's on the list. It's been a few years since I was there.

Brooklyn EIPA - I haven't had it in a while but it was my go to beer at. LocAl restaurant. Black market brewery (Temecula, CA)- all their beers are great but I'm a lover of all IPAs so I recommend Aftermath. I don't think they are distributed to stores but if your ever in the area I recommend checking it out. Weins brewer (temecula, CA)- bonus is they have a winery and the wine and beer is excellent. Again, probably couldn't find in local store. Evolution craft brewing company (MD)- I haven't been to heir actual location but had the pine'hop'le IPA. It is delicious and perfect for drinking in the summer. I've seen their beers sold in stores around me. I'm going to a beer festival in 2ish weeks so I shall return with more recommendations! I love seeing Evolution on your list. They're based in my college town; it's nice to see them doing well and getting recognition outside of the immediate area. That's awesome! I was just on their site since I couldn't remember the exact name of the beer I liked and the tasting room and restaurant looks like a fun place to go.

My favorite lately has been split shot by Elysian. Espresso milk stout. I don't think I like IPAs? I didn't drink beer until December. I stumbled on a local microbrewery and fell in love. I've been trying everything they put in front of me since. I have tended towards stouts and porters, but I like a lot of other things too. Are you in the PNW? Or is Elysian just really spread out now? I'm not coffee, but I'm in SoCal and we have it here. I love their IPA! But I can't remember the name of it. Stardust or something like that? I initially bought it bc IPA and the box/bottles have a trippy looking hoppy face blowing stardust shit all swirly like.

I've found my people. I'm mostly an IPA girl but I love blonde and red ales too.
DH and I just found a local brewery, 4 Sons. We're going to their tasting room for the first time this weekend. I like their blood orange IPA and The Great One that's 10%. Ballast point Sculpin IPA and Bear Republic's Racer 5 are favs too. BJ's Jeremiah Red is is tasty.
I'm trying to talk my sister into getting married at Stone Brewery.

I'm glad so many get to experience Elysian beers!
Now that I think about it, it makes sense that they're spread out now because Anheuser bought them a few years ago.
Still good beer!

billyhorrible She's thinking March or April '18. That's good to know, thanks! If she doesn't get married there then we're thinking bachelorette or bridal shower. I'll make it there one way or another!

If you like sour beers, I really liked the ones at Wicked Weed in Asheville. I wish I would have noted what I tried. I need to be better about using Untapped. I'm bitter about them selling out to AB.

mapleme, Anchor Steam is my all time favorite. I had a brewery tour scheduled a few years ago, but then I went and got myself KU'd, so it didn't work out. I really love when Anchor releases holiday beer. Their brewery tour is hands down the best brewery tour that I've ever been on. I highly recommend it.

Didn't they buy Goose Island too? Or was that Miller? AB owns Goose Island. Is that why it's not as good anymore? I had it in Chicago a million years ago and thought it was delicious, but now that is available in New England, I don't find it nearly as good. I wasn't sure if my beer tastes are more refined now or if the formula was changed.

I wasn't sure if my beer tastes are more refined now or if the formula was changed. Their head brewmaster left when they were purchased so perhaps that could be it. I was recently at their tap room and had some good beers, but they were ones that aren't largely distributed.

Also, hi. You are all my people.
I prefer ales. Any kind of ale, but especially IPAs. A juicy, cloudy IPA is my favorite. I also like stouts and porters and I'm just starting to get into sours and saisons, but they're new territory for me. Do not like lagers unless I'm on vacation/at a party and they're the only choice.

I'm bitter about them selling out to AB. I know. I was shocked when I heard that. I know people roll their eyes about it but it's a bigger problem than just selling out to the big guys. People will probably lose their jobs when they move the brewery while the owners make off with actual billions of dollars. Along with AB blocking small brewers from shelf space and the use of hops.

I didn't realize the beer talk moved. reposting this: If anyone ever sees this. Buy it immediately: I'm super intrigued by this. Besides the spice, what are the other flavors? Is it like a lemony summer ale with a touch of Old Bay?

So I'm happy to support the 20 other local brewers but Wicked Weed can kiss my ass.
I'm probably more bitter because it's right down the road and the community feels betrayed

The quality has gone way down. It is a shame. BP was the first craft brewer on the island.
