On the shuttle to get to work. It’s mostly firemen so they are all talking about some interesting things.

Morning ladies! Nothing exciting here. chrisy01 a shuttle full of firemen sounds like you have something good to look at on your ride...

Morning! Sorry I wasn’t around much yesterday. S had her first day of preschool. She had so much fun and couldn’t stop talking about it all afternoon. While she was there I ran some errands. During her afternoon nap I worked on doing a second coat of paint on the parts of the house I was working on that I hadn’t gotten to yet. I was keeping my eye on the time, stopped right before 3, set my stuff in the shade, turned to walk down the bus stop and H was almost to our house. Bus isn’t supposed to drop off till 3:05 so I guess they were running ahead. She did fine, the stop is only 5 houses down from ours and she doesn’t have to cross any streets. Would you let your kid do that walk alone after school every day? I think she would be fine doing it. Then I had work in the evening, which was pretty low key. Today I need to run to target. And I believe PSLs are available today ( klong11) so I probably need to get one of those.

If I knew all my neighbors and could see her, I'd be okay with her walking 5 houses. If there was a lot of traffic and lots of people out milling around, I'd meet her. But I'm paranoid and don't trust people.

Right now there’s a house being built directly across the street from the bus stop, so there’s more people around that normal. I can’t see from inside of my house but if I walked outside and stood at the end of the driveway I could.

I would definitely be leery of her walking by a construction site by herself, when I couldn't see her. Me, I'd stand at my driveway and watch her, or meet her part way when I saw the bus drop off. But again, I'm horribly paranoid, I watch too much true crime and read too much shit.

Do you know if your school has an app for tracking the buses? Ours sent home a paper about it last week, but I think the county has to join the program. I think it’s Durham something??

Not that I’m aware of. She’s the 2nd stop for dropping off so the bus doesn’t go far before getting to our stop.

Since it’s still early in the school year I’m planning to walk down and get her from the bus, but after a couple months maybe I’ll try and let her walk back on her own. I’m also a little paranoid but my lazy might win out, lol.

Morning.
Got a text asking me to work today, so I’m here. It’s still rainy and wet out, so traffic was not delightful this morning.

Morning time. My boss is cramping my week by scheduling a long meeting during the open house on Friday afternoon..right before a holiday, which normally is an early release. Not pleased. My coworker suggested another time, so hoping she reschedules.
N is loving being on the playground with j and cried when we picked her up early, so we had to go back out to the playground for a while.
And the doctor yesterday doubts I'll make it to my induction and I'm measuring 38 weeks. My next door neighbor saw today and is going to give me her cell if I need her to come over MOTN, which was sweet. Doc also about died when I told her about all the things I did over the weekend and said to quit walking so much..so now I'm on the shuttle to campus instead of my usual walk.

I'm at work. I tried driving closer to the school to walk M in and I ended up parking so far away that we should have just walked from the house again. I'm hoping after tomorrow I can just do the car drop off line.

trtlcrzy for drop-offs I'd want to see my kiddo actually got on the bus (even if it was just watching from my porch), but for pick-ups I wouldn't be concerned about walking home in that scenario. Our morning bus time is fairly consistent but the afternoon is all over the place.

I'm hoping after tomorrow I can just do the car drop off line. I had to call the school secretary for something this morning, and she told me to expect to park far if I want to hang out at the playground on Thursday morning because everybody has that idea on the first and it gets crazy, if you’re not super early. Hoping Friday it won’t be as bad!

Our morning bus time is fairly consistent but the afternoon is all over the place. Our bus route has very precise times for the morning but nothing for the afternoon. I guess it’s about waiting to get everybody settled on the bus so they can’t predict the time they’d arrive home?

Blah. At work. As if we don't have enough to do we have an additional meeting this morning. I think sometimes my boss just wants to show the higher-ups he's doing something. The TKD schedule is changing yet again next week. But this time it's mostly back to the old schedule. I think the owner got a lot of complaints. The new one will work much better with our schedule.

At school this morning I was noticing how many of us are totally helicoptering. I swear the playground is half parents. And those are grades 1-6.
Rough morning here. The boys got up early and disobeyed their okay to wake clock because they were excited to see Squeak. Which is fine, except I was upstairs in the shower and I still don’t want them unsupervised on the stairs and with the rabbit. He’s going to sleep in my room from now on.
Then X accidentally hit me in the face with a GIANT washer that was attached to the end of birthday balloons. Not sure if I need stitches but the gash is decent and it’s bruised and swollen.
He had a super rough time at drop-off this morning.
So far, Tuesday es no bueno.

Yikes. cagoldi Sorry for the rough morning. Apparently there have been quite a few parents still walking by their students to class(aka helicoptering) here because the principal let everyone know last night that that would end this week and they can handle it.

cagoldi, so many parents are still hovering right now! I took Cadence into the cafeteria this morning (I'm trying to convince her to do the drop off line, but she said we can only sometimes). I'm trying to get in and out and there are parents sticking around for like morning announcements and shit. no thanks!

inthekitty I’ll keep walking her to the bus in the morning for sure. She has to cross the street and I also want to make sure she gets to where she’s supposed to be. Ouch! cagoldi maybe they can just put a butterfly bandage on it instead of stitches.

trtlcrzy, if it makes you feel better, last year Madison insisted I don't meet her at the bus stop and wanted to walk home on her own. Worked better for me. Instead of just standing there for ~20 minutes, I could get on with dinner/cleaning/evening prep. cagoldi ouch! I hope you don't need stitches.
