Well his assignment didnt come today. I'll be stalking the mail tomorrow.. How do people plan for childcare if you don’t know am/pm? When I was a kid, we went half the year am and then it switched to pm the second half or vice versa. I guess back then no ones mom worked though so it didn’t matter. When I was a kid it was split by town kids and bus kids. I moved in the middle of the year so I ended up with the bus kids even though I lived in town because the other class was full. I can’t remember which was which for am/pm though. |

First day of kindergarten is sept 4, last day June 3. 8:35-3:15. We just got our bus info in the mail. Bus picks up at our stop 8:08 and and drops off at 3:47. I emailed the principle this morning. We had the option of putting in requests if you *dont’t* want your child in class with someone, but can’t request being put with someone. My sister and I talked and were just going to leave it to chance even though we don’t really N and my nephew to be together. Well, I changed my mind and requested they not be together because I don’t want them to be dependent on each other. I think it will be best for everyone and the principle agreed it is a good idea. I think that's wise. If J and my nephew were the same grade I would do that too. They would end up only playing with each other and being hateful to everyone else. |

I purposely mailed something through our mailbox so I could tell if it ran, since we dont get mail every day. It still didnt come!!! The school is 2 minutes from us. Why couldn't they just have us pick them up??? Lord. I'm dying to know here.

But if it doesnt come tomorrow, I'm going to give it a shot. |

I just saw a post from the school on Facebook, they will have open house on the 20th...which is my day to work. So I plan to get there right at 5, do what we need to do, and get home in time for me to leave for work.

So we have Meet the Teacher on the morning of the 16th to drop off supplies and meet the teacher(obviously), then 2 weeks later we have Back to School Night, where we learn about how their classroom functions and all that. I emailed the principal at melaniesue's advice to request I not get a particular teacher for Cadence. She responded yesterday saying how she couldn't "technically" take requests, and that while they aren't done setting up the class rosters she could tell me that Cadence wasn't currently in this teacher's class, nor would she be. So that's good. Now I'm excited to see who she gets. I'm also VERY excited because in 2 weeks I make my last ever daycare payment. WOOHOO!!! |

klong11 WTF to 2:57. That's so weird! Yeah, the bell rings at 2:57, then I guess they split into car riders, after care, or whatever. Parent's can pick up their kids in the classroom at 3, if you don't want them waiting for the car line, but by 3:05 you have to pick them up in the office. Idk, it's odd. Luckily, she will have extend-a-care most days, so I don't have to deal with all of that. The funky time is because now they measure how many minutes kids need to be at school vs. days. This way they tack on minutes every day so they don’t have to take on extra days. A few years ago the parents voted on if we wanted to extend the day or start earlier. Thank god ending later won. Hi melaniesue! Come back and join us! How awesome that you and klong11's girls will be in school together!! So my school has a FB page for parents so I went on it and scoured last year's posts to see when class assignments went out and when the meet the teachers was last year. Looks like assignemnts go out the 3rd week in August and the meet the teacher is the afternoon before school starts. So I have a few more weeks to wait  |

I'll be doing aftercare through the elementary. It is significantly cheaper than dc. Ours just started it this year but pick up is at 5. So annoying. Pick up here is 6 or 6:30, she won't stay that whole time, but I'm glad she stays on campus. Still need to figure out if FIL is going to pick her up on Mondays to take her to dance or if I'll need to rearrange my work schedule. |

So they have after school care but I really want to avoid using it. We kept him in the private school we will be paying more then we did for DC. However work is suppose to be doing a dc/after school assistance program so we will see.
