klong11 WTF to 2:57. That's so weird! Yeah, the bell rings at 2:57, then I guess they split into car riders, after care, or whatever. Parent's can pick up their kids in the classroom at 3, if you don't want them waiting for the car line, but by 3:05 you have to pick them up in the office. Idk, it's odd. Luckily, she will have extend-a-care most days, so I don't have to deal with all of that.

Hmmm jersey is definitely later then all you people
Start: September 5 (it's a Thursday, and all camps around here end August 24 so that's fun) End: June 23 Drop off after 8:25 but before 8:35. ends 3:10 but we'll be doing aftercare at the school.
I am so thankful we don't start at 7:30. B is rarely out of his crib by then, so that would definitely negatively effect my family!

M starts Aug 7th and ends on May 22 I think.
Bell rings at 730am and they get out at 230 and have to be picked up by 245 I believe. He will go to aftercare the days I work.
For K, half the class goes wednesday, the other half the next day; and they all go together the Friday.

jewels I'm not looking forward to the 7:30 start time. We didn't even get out the door by 7:30 this morning. It was an epic fail.
She told me that I need to remember that she is tired in the morning and she had a pool day yesterday, so that's even more tiring.

My biggest problem is getting her to eat breakfast. Last year HISD had a grant for free breakfast and lunch. So I'm hoping they get that again so I can just wake her up, get her dressed, brush her teeth and fix her hair. Then I'll just drop her off on my way to work and she'll have enough time to eat breakfast at school. MH can be responsible for H.

I told her I would find out, but I'm really hoping she can just tell them her name and it's all they need. I don't think she could handle carrying money or a card around.

We have a website where login to prepay and can see what your child ate. I think they just give their name.

lahdeedah responding on this thread... The whole ES starts this late. They stagger the busses, so high school is like 7:15, middle is 8 something, and ES is latest. Which goes against science that teenagers need more sleep and little kids are up earlier🙄. I think the worry is after school sport schedules for high school? Regardless, it's a major pain and we are forced to pay for before care.

I think Maddie starts on 9/5. Kindergarteners start the week after Labor Day on 9/9.
8:25 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
School year will end mid-June.

Honestly I would probably do an eggo or bar or something in the car if they do not do breakfast at school. Hell no to getting the kids up and feed them and out the door that early every day.

At his other school in pre-k, the bell rang at 745. Most days he was still asleep on the way in to school. I was ok with no breakfast before school because I knew they had a snack break at 9. Not sure if they get snack in K. School opens at 7, so I can get him there early to get breakfast, but he is not a morning person. It will be hard on the both of us to get him there for 730.

The days he was awake in the car he ate mini muffins, a bar, or fruit. I guess my goal needs to be having him fully awake before we leave the house so he can grab his breakfast to eat on the way.

We currently leave the house at 7:30 for daycare. M is just so damn picky. The school is literally down the street from our house. She really wants to walk there...but I don't.

If so that’s how they did “lunch money” when I was in school.

825 start time here. K-8th grade. They are finished at 315. We start 8/29 for two half days ending at 11. Then the next 2 weeks or so end at 1. Then they’ll start full days after that. Barring no snow days they are finished June 12th.
Re: school lunch. We can put money into their account. We can see what they order, and if you want you can put restrictions on their account so they are limited to no ice cream or ice cream once a weeks, no snack, etc. We were told they have to memorize their number to give the cafeteria workers but it can also be looked up via last name.

We start September 4 and end around June 26th. DD and T go 8:50-3:20. DS1 and I are 7:40-2:50. The baby will be in an in home daycare and we haven’t decided if DH or I will take him, probably will depend on when he’s waking up. DH works 10-6 so he can drop off the middle two and then catch the bus to the city and then I’m done in time for pick up. DS1 got a bus last year but since I will be working in his school, he could ride with me, he hasn’t decided if the embarrassment of riding with me is better or worse than standing in the cold waiting for the bus.

H starts school on 8/22 and ends (tentatively, depends on snow days) 5/20. School day is from 8:10 - 2:55. I am going to try her on the bus, which picks up right by our house so hopefully I won’t have to wake her up too early. I like that she gets to go for 2 days and then has the weekend off, a good transition into school.
S starts the following Monday 8/26 and will go MWF from 9-11:30

Cadence isn't a breakfast person normally, but she's going to be waking up like 1-1.5 hours earlier than her norm and she'll need something to get through her morning.
Looks like lunch is around 10:50 and they only get 30 minutes to eat. Interesting.
