My hormones are getting the better of me. My patience with my kids is so short and I wince every time I feel myself snapping at them because I know it's my fault and not theirs. I am lashing out at my husband too and I feel like such an ass for it. Calm down, hormones!!!

Well, I have *such* an important question for you. I was choosing some maternity things to order from old navy this weekend. Do you think those models are really pregnant? Because my whole body has expanded and gotten lumpy, and there they are with their skinny arms, legs, and faces. They can’t really look like that, can they?! 🤣

I’m getting frustrated taking care of my kids too, but it’s mostly because I can’t physically move as well. Like I get annoyed at them getting dressed or putting shoes on because it requires me to get on the ground to help. Just like you said, my fault not theirs!

robinanne no... I’ve always thought those were fake bumps! Plus they all have the same low, out-in-front bump.

DS just threw an epic tantrum for like the past hour. I’m hiding in the bath shedding a few tears and he’s finally quiet in front of scooby doo. Sometimes parenting is so hard.

Are you feeling tired? I’ve actually been getting very good sleep, but I still feel tired a lot of the day. 😴😴😴

robinanne yes!!! I need a nap just about every day. I had considered the possibility of being anemic, but my labs all came back normal, actually better numbers than my pregnancy with DS, so I’m just chalking it up to being 4 years older this time around.

I tend to be OTT on vaccination related matters, but the first cases of measles just creeped into my state and I'm having some anxiety over having a newborn in the midst of a potential outbreak. I'm thinking of asking DH to get his titers checked. We were both born before 1989, and when I had mine checked for nursing school last year I found I had lost immunity to mumps and needed another booster. Anyone else doing this or considering it?

We have a measles outbreak in MI. I got my youngest vaccinated early but I hadn’t thought about myself. I’ll have to ask about it too.

peachesncream I hadn’t thought of it but I think they would consider our boosters recent enough since we’re still in our 20s. Still sounds like a good idea though. My sister has been stressed to high heaven about the measles in a nearby city since she knows someone at her church doesn’t vaccinate & My nephew is only 4m.

I read an article about that. I'm not sure why but my office doesn't do the 4-5 year old shots until the 5 year appointment, if measles is still spreading when my middle kiddo turns 4 in March I will probably ask if she can get her shots at 4. My oldest will turn 5 a few weeks after this baby comes thank goodness. I work in a hospital and I am a little worried about exposure there, too. It is soooooo freaking contagious! Ugh.

I think your generation had an extra booster shot added to the schedule that us older people didn't have, so you should be good! They say for people born before 1989 they should be 95% covered, but anecdotally a lot of people I know who have gotten titers drawn had lost immunity to at least one of the three diseases so I'm not sure how true that is. Thankfully measles is still far away from us but I am trying to prepare. Your poor sister, that must be so stressful :-(

peachesncream My youngest is 2.5, and she wouldn’t usually get it until 4 at our pediatrician’s office. We were in for an ear infection, so I asked about the vaccine. We got MMRV for her second dose of measles.

I’m starting to experience so much more forgetfulness and spacing out. I feel like my brain just isn’t clicking at full capacity. I won’t remember this starting this early last time around. This ought to make work interesting over the next few months!

peachesncream: I think you're right about the booster! Yeah, thankfully it's 1.5h away and the measles seemed to have been contained.

Ok I had to buy rain boots last minute to wear on my kid’s field trip. The weather is supposed to be very wet. I ran out to Walmart and got these... are they embarrassing? (To be clear, they’re for me not my DD 😀)
