robinanne I personally never want my 2.5 yo to stop napping so I would vote short nap. I need that time for me! I’m going to do the “quiet time” when he is actually done w naps.

I would probably keep with the short nap for now robinanne but agree with quiet time when she does drop the nap. DS dropped his nap around 2.5-3 but he fought it every day and the battle just wasn’t worth it.

I got my summer semester nursing school schedule and I'm freaking out 😭 they will be very accommodating of my pregnancy, I am just nervous about everything else. It doesn't help that I lost my childcare. My daycare provider kicked my 3 kids out that I send FT in favor of a FT infant and a kid who goes one day a week. I'm so frustrated and stressed. I sent an application to a nanny agency, so I have everything crossed that works out! Sorry for the daycare woes peachesncream. I hope the nanny works out ASAP for you guys. And good luck with your nursing school this summer!

robinanne My DD stopped napping pretty early on so I vote no nap. If she needs it you can always move her bed time up. But I have a kid who if she falls asleep for even 10 minutes in the car is awake for like 5 extra hours at night:/

My DS only dropped naps this late fall right before he turned 3. DS2 naps on me/we nap together on the recliner. I have no idea how I'm going to keep this up when baby gets here though!!

I have a drug test this morning for school and I didn't pee enough so now I am stuck in the lobby chugging water. I AM MORTIFIED.

I once got called for a random at work, chugged water, arrived at the testing place, there was a huge line, couldn’t hold it, had to pee then chug more water while waiting again. Anecdote.

I had a sweet tooth craving tonight but we had no eggs so I made a recipe I found online for vegan brownies. Oh my God they were so bad. Blech.

I’m trying to stay active in this pregnancy but I’m starting to have way more aches and pains. How in the world do I still have 18 weeks to go?! I’m worrying a little about the summer.

I have this weird thing happening this pg where if I’ve been sitting too long and then I stand up the ligaments(?) in my pelvis feel like they haven’t moved in years! I feel like I’m a 90 yo woman standing up. Those first few steps are painful until I get moving for a bit!

+1 to the pain and discomfort. 11 weeks to go...not sure how I'm going to manage at work for that much longer:/ This week all the female staff washrooms were out of order and I had to use student washrooms. Not my idea of fun.

Along with the RNP study that was released there apparently was an article that came out from a (*cough* MALE *cough*) pediatrician at Johns Hopkins or something saying that newborns should not go out in public for the first 2-3 months. I have a lot of rage at this 😂 if you love being a homebody and wouldn't mind being stuck at home for 2-3 months then I am happy for you but I do not live that life! If I go a day or two without leaving I get antsy. I think the fact that my last baby was born in January contributed majorly to my PPD, I am excited to have this summer baby and be able to get outside after s/he comes. And grocery shopping with my whole troupe is just kind of my life, it doesn't bother me to be out running errands right after baby comes!

I feel you peachesncream. I lasted at home for 9 days with my first before I broke down sobbing begging to go to Costco! Cabin a fever and I do not mix! I am careful about where I take a newborn prior to their first shots though.

I rolled my eyes so hard peachesncream. Lord no to being cooped up for 2-3 months! I too am excited for a summer baby and have maternity leave in late summer/ fall. I plan to be out running errands, taking walks, enjoying the outside as much as I can.

cookswithwine I am not usually too wary about taking a newborn in public, I do a lot of babywearing so people don't touch my baby. With all of these outbreaks happening though I am paranoid, if there was one in my area I would think about forcing myself into seclusion as sucky as that would be. I figure my big kids are just as likely to bring stuff home from school though. It's such a hard balance!!

Do any of you feel hiccups yet or is it too early? I never felt them in 2 of my 3 previous pregnancies but I swear I feel them already this time.

One of the pediatricians at our office told me not to take DD out until she was 2 months. As a first time mom I was kind of speechless. Like, thanks for the extra guilt piled on top of my fragile well being. And also MH could only take two weeks off so who the hell was going go run necessary errands during the week? I still get pissed when I think about it. She's an October baby so I understood it was about to be cold and flu season...but like how about just saying don't let anyone get close (duh) and wash your hands a lot and keep hand sanitizer in the diaper bag.

Omg. I. Could. not. I took DS2 out to eat the day we got out of the hospital. DS1 I took him out at 4 days old, to IHOP and then target. I ran into my OB there too 😂 she was like "well look at you!"

It's so crazy to me that we're moving into 6 months pregnant, and that babies that will be born in Jan 2020 are being concieved RIGHT NOW! Wow!!!

We focused on being home with as little guests as possible for the first month. However her first outing was he grocery store at 1w. 🤷🏻♀️ I also recommend babywearing because it’s much harder for random people to touch the baby.

You will need to share it if it was any good because the one that I found definitely was not! 🤣🤣 Some friends told me after the fact that Ree Drummond's mug cake doesn't need eggs so that will have to be my new go-to.

Speaking of this pg speeding along, I’m really feeling my to do list pile up. The nursery is not where I would like it to be right now... I like to have it done early bc the larger I get the harder it is to do certain things.
