Morning! It's the second day of March and the second day in a row of snow, so those warm days aren't feeling so close. Last year we got big snow storms weekly and lost power repeatedly for days at a time, so I'm prepared for the worst.
I dreamt about work all night long. Nothing really qualified as a nightmare, so I guess that's good? Haha.
We were going to take the boys to the trampoline park but it's closed because of the snow. They need haircuts and maybe we'll do lunch out afterwards.

We got the most snow we have had all year. We have 8 houses to look at today but it’s only raining there so we will still go. DH and DS are shoveling and T is having a snowball fight with the dog. I’m making breakfast. I had a nightmare that we found the perfect house but the beach it was on was gross.

Morning! Yesterday was so busy that i didn’t don’t read anything until this morning. So I’ll put my thoughts in the weekend’s thread. tgrimes, I hope M is feeling better! Good luck on the offer, lahdeedah! That all sounds really promising, joelies. Will it be a position you’ll have to apply and interview for or just a internal promotion? Hugs to you, inthekitty! DL sounds like the perfect distraction. lfig, if you went year round would it be the position that is close to home or the one that requires an hour commute?

Part of my errands included picking up paint and wax at the Home Depot. Here’s what I ended up with: I’m hoping to get started today since it snowed overnight and I think we’re expecting more. Hopefully it’s a good day for a diy project!

Morning time. I was up til 12:30 working on my paper. Lounging around and straightening up for some friends stopping by. Then heading to my dad's house to celebrate my SM's birthday. Tomorrow we may finally buy microwave, we gave done pretty well without one, but I think it's time. I found a small countertop one at WS and I have a gift card from our wedding...I did intend for these to be used for house stuff, but didn't realize I'd be waiting 8 years to use them!

guster - Oh it's alllll mine. My manager (my new one) said last night that they'd look for another resource but it would be someone I'd need to mentor. My industry is equity comp and for some reason, everyone thinks the financial reporting side is so impossibly hard that no one learns it. So there's really no one who can just step in. It may be easier to just go it alone until our workload regulates (in another year or so)... Who knows, but I have a ton to do.

When we lived in the townhouse, we didn’t have one until last year when we bought a countertop one. I still didn’t really use it. Here, it’s built-in above the oven, so I sometimes warm my tea up in it, occasionally defrost a bagel, but mostly it houses whatever fresh baked goods we have in the house. A gloried bread box.

guster - It's mainly the same work for the most part, just 2 people's worth. To be fair, he was definitely considered a senior product manager and often took the lead with clients and leadership. It's nothing I can't do, just given our styles and strengths, that stuff was a more natural fit for him. I was more the one keeping things organized and moving in the background. We worked really well together and selfishly I'm going to miss having him to vent to and bounce ideas off of.

Good morning. We also got snow overnight and more to come Sunday to Monday. I am expecting a snow day Monday based on the current forecasts but we will see.
The roads here are a mess so we probably won’t go anywhere until it’s over late afternoon. Then I am hoping for a Target run and out to dinner. Until then it’s tv, board games and probably a nap later.

LO seems to think weekends are when you get up even earlier then week days. He normally wakes all 3 of us with his I’m hungry announcement so today we had muffins, cereal bar and Cheerios waiting for him. He woke me up to open the muffins and cereal bar. So no sleeping in for me. Luckily E is still asleep.
It’s raining here (So Cal’s version of snow) so I’m trying to figure out how to keep LO busy without going insane myself.

Ha, it is interesting how quickly we have gotten used to not having one. The kids rarely eat nuggets since it takes forever in the oven. We broil leftovers and do veggies on the stove (which is healthier). We did just stop making oatmeal all together though since we do two types which is a pain on the stove/don't have time for that in the am.

We were forecast to get 1-3in of snow tomorrow then they changed it to 4-6 and now it's down to 1in. We are still sending SD home tonight so we don't have to worry about her driving in freezing rain. I was really hoping for 4in though.
I have been thinking about pulling everything out if the kitchen cabinets and reorganizing where things are. We have roll out shelves for the lower cabinets but I wish there was a good place for the big things like the IP and a future air fryer.

I don’t know how y’all do the no-microwave life. FWP alert, but going for a few days without one was torture 😂 I don’t cook like, meals in it, but reheating leftovers, frozen veggies, things for the kids, grits/oatmeal in the morning...all way easier in the microwave.

guster the one that’s guaranteed year round right now is the temp job I’m doing that’s an hour commute and less flexibility. 😞. But there is good sounding potential for my “real” job to go year round with a grade increase. It has more flexibility, freedom, and is a 10 min commute. So I’m leaning toward sticking with it and hoping that the talks of the positive changes come through. tallb I can’t believe you still had gift cards from 7 years ago 😂. Those things burn a whole in my pocket and I usually use gift cards within a month of getting them. I’m like a kid with candy! Lol. Plus in 7 years I would probably lose them!

Agreed! My parents fancy schmancy microwave quit and it took them 3 months to replace it because they just didn’t use it much. But it made me crazy on visits because just about everything S eats needs microwaved (mother of the year here! And culinary genius 🤣 obviously).

Morning!
Had so much fun at girls’ night last night. Food and wine were great.
B’s team doesn’t have a game this morning, so just b-ball practice at 11.
Tonight DH and I are going out to a French restaurant we’ve been wanting to try to celebrate his birthday, which is tomorrow (FFSC: I have to triple-check the date every year bc I can never remember if it’s the 2nd or the 3rd). He said no gifts bc he’s buying some new flying gear, but I do need to go out and get cards at some point. I think I’ll order a cookie cake for tmrw, too, bc apparently we’re 8.

We are supposed to get 3-6” of snow overnight into the morning so I am headed the store to pick up some groceries because my cabinets are bare and probably some cookie baking stuff. I’ve got a craving!
I have not showered yet, or put on any makeup so I am sure this will be the time I run into 10 people I know at the store. I seldom leave the house like that but I’m just not feeling it this morning. I will shower when I get home and then put my comfy clothes back on and lounge with the kid all day.

Morning!
I haven’t left the bed yet. Kids are up playing and leaving me alone for a change. Not sure what all is on the agenda today. I need to do some tidying and cleaning. I think my ILs want to take the kids out somewhere. Depending on where, I may stay back to have some time to myself.
The sellers have until 7pm tonight to get back to us, so I will be impatiently waiting to hear from them.

Morning everyone. I am still in a bit of a rough place over here, so H is taking me out to breakfast and I am going to spend the night with my BFF today. Still have not responded to my Mom and I am not sure how I am going to handle it, so trying to take my mind off it for now. I know I can't avoid it forever.
Thanks for all the thoughts and love, I am way behind on the haps around here, but will be back soon to check in. Much love.

Morning. We got home so late last night and the kids were up at their normal times. I see a nap in our future.
Our plane was delayed and landed just before 10. But then took 20 minutes to get to the gate. We had stayed at a hotel nearby and shuttled there so had to wait for the shuttle. It finally came and filled up before we could get on. The line for taxis was insane. Then a very nice man came up and offered to share his Uber that was on the way since he saw we had kids. Finally got to our car and had to clear 6” of snow of it, the roads weren’t great, and got home at 1:30 to a beeping smoke detector in our bedroom that wouldn’t stop after 2 battery changes. Haha quite the night but I’m glad to be home.

I'm still in bed. Mh took Cadence to gymnastics so I could sleep in, but they came in here to get ready, so I was awake and didn't go back to sleep. My cough left me alone for about two days and is now back. Trying to decide if I just continue to home treat or go see someone about it.

I'm dumbfounded that people don't use microwaves on the regular. I would guess ours is used at least once a day. Like, how do you heat a cup of water for hot tea? Make easy mac? Popcorn? Melt butter?
I'm so damn lazy...
