I'm in nap jail and I'm looking at old pics of DS when he was DD's age. Man, that kid had all this play time and all these baby toys and tummy time with toys all set up for him to look at and he started going in the sit me up a little bit around this time and a bigger, seated swing..... Poor DD! She hasn't gotten nearly that experience being #2! I need to step up my Mom game for her.

tbirdlove same for me. I have so many videos, pictures, etc. Of dd1 and did everything I felt like I was "supposed to" with tummy time, napping, keeping track of feedings, etc. And dd2 just goes along for the ride of crazy dd1. I go days with no pictures, only have a few videos, and tummy time happens a lot in random places wherever dd1 happens to be.

brenna I hope you are feeling ok! tbirdlove I ordered some zen sacks out of desperation. I haven’t gotten a chance to try them yet because our mail was delayed because of the earthquake. We are on our trip in Minnesota. The girls did such a great job traveling. I got quite a few compliments on the plane, so that was nice. My sleep schedule is all messed up because of the 3 hour time change, sharing a bed with M and having P in a pack and play in the same room. It’s worth it because my grandma is sooo excited.

Well, I'm over here tearing up packing away some newborn stuff 😢 I did the same packing up our 3M clothes yesterday. With DS1 it was NBD because we planned for a second. I'm having a hard time with this time being the last time even though we always planned for 2 kids.

With DS1 I spent so many days just cuddling on the couch. With only 1 kid I took care of the baby and MH did everything else.
With DS2 I feel like I need to be doing stuff around the house since MH has been helping out a lot with DS1 so I haven't been spending those days just cuddling. This Wednesday was 4 weeks until I go back to work. I plan on doing nothing around the house most days the next 4 weeks and soaking up the baby cuddles.

Bananas. This got me in the feels BIG TIME ❤️ 😭 so true! As dd2 grows out of clothes and meets different milestones I'm excited but also sad because now DH and I are pretty much 100% sure we don't want any more kids so everything is the last time.

I know for many of you this isn't a big deal, but I did bedtime successfully tonight by myself. Bedtime always brings anxiety for me so it was a relief to get both girls down with minimal tears from all of us.

Why is my 6 week old biting my nipples?!? He's got a serious bite! 💀 DD has been doing that to me the last few weeks! It doesn't feel good! Most of the time she does it when she's done and I'm like, child just let go you don't have to smash my nipple and pull it as hard as possible!

brennaI remember DD doing it when she was way older and when she was teething or would fall asleep on the boob too but never this young. I'm struggling to get him to unlatch too!!!

Anyone else have a shitty day?!? My 3 year old pushed me too far today and it's just been down hill since his morning. Ugh! Early bedtime for us all. Man, I wish I had some alcohol right now.

pixiepink24 not today, but I definitely have them too. Usually when I'm too tired, and thus far too impatient, to deal with all the toddler non-sense tantrums and boundary pushing. Hope you can get some rest tonight. Tomorrow is another day 😊

We're getting so many packages with Christmas gifts for the kids from family out of state. Some years the stuff is already wrapped. This year most of it is not. I don't mind wrapping a few things, but I seriously have a pile of gifts to wrap that are gifts TO us! And most people haven't given a very good heads up that a gift is coming, and they're coming directly from vendors, so I'm getting all these packages that I have to go digging through to find the gift receipt/note so that I know who they're from and I'm inadvertently seeing the (unwrapped) gifts. I feel like it's kinda spoiling the fun.
ETA : And I can't very well going throwing dirty, unwrapped shipping boxes under the tree!!

tbirdlove - Yea... I'm appreciative of people giving gifts, but I'm not going to wrap them for them. That sounds so annoying!

I mean, I get it. It's expensive to pay for gift wrapping! Doesn't Amazon charge $3-4 per gift? I'm gonna have their stuff sent to them without gift wrapping too, so I guess maybe it all evens out?! 😉 I still don't like the surprise being ruined though. Most of the stuff is for the kids, but still! ETA Tag: Nymeria

tbirdlove - Ah, I forgot you said some of it was coming right from the stores. I can get why that stuff isn't all wrapped. Still annoying to have to find time to do it, but makes more sense.

Dd2 was sleeping so well for like a week, she was sleeping like 10+ hours straight at night and I was so happy to finally feel like we were getting in a good groove until last night hit. I was up with her 5 or 6 times (I'm too tired to actually remember) and if course her wakings were spaced out just enough where I couldn't fall back asleep or barely slept in between each wake up. She's 15 weeks tomorrow but 12 weeks from her due date so maybe it's the third leap?

brenna I feel you. I had some good nights in a row including a few with her first stretch in her crib, then last night was back to crap. What is making me even more frustrated is that when I get her back down, without her immediately crying, I have a hard time falling asleep because I feel like I'm just waiting for her to start crying. And even worse, during that time when I'm struggling to fall asleep, MH keeps f-ing snoring and waking me up 😵 I think we (MH and I) need to find different sleeping arrangements for this phase. One of us needs to sleep somewhere else.

DH and I didn't sleep in the same place for probably the first two months because I suck at sleeping and it just didn't work for us to both be in the same room. Now a lot of times I end up in the couch in the middle of the night because I just lay in bed for hours sometimes trying to sleep and failing miserably.

I've been sleeping on the couch since 2 weeks old. I did it the first few months with DS1 too. I hadn't planned to do it this time but turns out it's just easier. With DS1 we transitioned from pack 'n play to crib around this time because he started sleeping through the night just after 3 months, but DS2 is still only doing 3-4 hour stretches overnight so I'm still on the couch and he's still in the pack 'n play.

I don't know if it fell off on its own or DS2 knocked it off, but my Haakaa just fell off and dumped 2-3oz all over the couch. Thankfully we cover the couch with a blanket at all times because of the dog so I could just toss it in the wash, but I'm pissed I just lost that milk.
