We have L's two week old check today. Hoping to have them check his rash because I'm afraid it could be yeast now. He's still pooping constantly and seeming uncomfortable quite a bit. Fingers crossed all good news and he feels better soon.
Fx for a good check up and that you can figure out the rash situation!
Don't hate me when I say this: Lily went 11.5 hours last night without eating. She woke up once at 11 but went right back to sleep. I'm not sure if I should be waking her up to eat sooner than that or not.

That's awesome brenna! I'd think that as long as she's been gaining weight and eating well during the day then you shouldn't need to wake her. Just enjoy it! 😊

Enjoy it. DS has started sleeping from 8/9 PM-4:30 AM+. Last night it was 9:30-6:20. Roll with it!

haha she is a chunk so I'm sure she's doing good food wise. I of course woke up at like 4:30 thinking she'd be up soon and she didn't wake up until 6:45.
I'm back at work and I feel like I haven't checked in here in forever, my gosh.
Oh, I didn't know you'd gone back to work already! I hope everything has gone well transitioning back!
Yessssss. Today is my first day back. DS started daycare yesterday though. He seems to be doing well. I do wish I had used the full 12 weeks but I wasn't sure how everything would go this time. With DD I was ready to be back at 6 weeks.
I know it will probably just take time but I’m sooooo ready for longer stretches of sleep.
We switched to a preemie nipple for her bottle and bottled water as well to see if that helps with her gas. Last night I also ordered the dr Browns formula pitcher to see if that helps as well. So the air bubbles have time to settle.
My 6 week appointment is tomorrow (at almost 7 weeks). It feels like P was just born yesterday.
My mom thinks P has an umbilical Hernia. So we will see what the dr says at her 2 month appointment on the 27th.

akwild I hope you can find a solution for the gassiness. Gas has been our nemesis the past couple days too. And I hope everything checks out well at your appt tomorrow 😊
So, in the beginning I couldn't figure out the logistics of what to do with baby when putting DS to bed. Now I can't figure out what to do with the toddler while trying to figure out nap times and bed time for DD!!
Anyone doing crib naps? What do you do with your toddler when you're getting baby settled? Our house is a colonial and I don't really feel comfortable leaving DS downstairs alone for that long. But if I bring him up, he'll just be all noisy and I'll NEVER get her down!
The juggling of naptimes and bedtimes is going to be a real struggle 😕

I can't figure out how to do it so I literally wear DD for every nap. I'm basically just waiting it out until we can do a little sleep training where I won't have to rock and hold DD for her naps.

We're basically just getting broken cat naps here. She'll fall asleep nursing then I'll need to put her down. She'll either wake up when I put her down, or eventually DS wakes her with his stomping, jumping, roaring, shouting etc. 😑
It wasn't a big deal before, but I think she's getting irritable sometimes now because she's tired but keeps getting woken up.

I hope we can figure this out!
I think I've said a few four letter words every single day because dd1 is SO loud and wakes dd2 up at least once a day. It's so frustrating! "Wake up Lily!" Is yelled way too often in our house 😒

Oh yes, I use a lot of bad language! But I HAVE to try to control myself better because DS is starting to repeat everything. He said "piece of shit" clear as day the other day after I'd said it 🤦🏼♀️ And he's started calling the dog stupid.... Lol.

L is now 9lbs 13.5oz at 2weeks. So he's well above birth weight. Pediatrician gave RX for yeast cream and we are also thinking he has silent reflux. She wants me to just hold him upright for now and change diet a bit before going to meds. 🤷♀️

tbirdlove Like I mentioned before, I used to put the boy I nannied in the bouncer in the room with us when I put DD down. Now, I hold DS and nurse him to sleep while DD goes down. So far it's worked and we all end up napping at the same time or I put DS down after DD is asleep so I can get stuff done.

When DS is napping it's not a problem (except that lately she doesn't want to sleep at this time. Go figure.). I need to figure it out for when he's awake and running amok!
I'll probably end up trying to nurse her to sleep downstairs, and then carrying her upstairs asleep and putting her down.
O has been so fussy every night for about a week now. From about 6-11 if he's not nursing he's crying. Yesterday I skipped my morning coffee, and he went to bed easily with minimal fussing.
I guess coffee is out now. I feel terrible that he was that miserable because of me.

I woke up MOTN with a clogged duct 😞 I nursed DD on that side while massaging it, and then pumped while massaging it more. It's still sore this morning and I'm not sure if it's from still being clogged, or if it hurts from massaging the heck out of it. So between that and my sore nipples, I'm not having a great start to the day today.
A day late but even after I cleared clogs with DS1 the area would be tender for a day or 2.

That's great! As long as she's gaining ok I'd let her sleep!! She should just make up for any missed nighttime feedings during the day.

Good to hear cause I'm still kinda sore, but I've been thinking it might just be from all the massaging.

DS1 has an umbilical hernia. His was unusual in that it didn't appear until 6 months or so (IIRC), but they're generally not a big deal. As long as they're not hurting or causing problems, they look for them to close by 3-5 years old, otherwise they'll do surgery. He's 2 now and his is closing on its own. It's not complete yet but it's on its way so I'm confident he won't need surgery.
Let me know if you have any questions while you wait for the appt.
Thanks Nymeria I don’t think it’s hurting her. It just showed up in the last week or so. When my mom said something I was like “oh I just thought she had an outie”. But it does seem to bulge out more when she is crying, but I’m reading that’s normal.
I had my six week appointment today. I’m all cleared and I also got an iud placed. So I need to go back in a few weeks to get it checked.
Between me and P I feel like we’re going to the dr every 2 weeks.

killertofu I'm cutting back the coffee too and it sucks because with the reflux I'm holding him up at every feeding for 15-20 mins. He still eats a lot MOTN so I need that caffeine but pediatrician says that the caffeine can also effect his silent reflux. 😞 I'm so sad.
Does it take anyone else FOREVER to get their LO to sleep at night? We spend hours trying to get DD settled to where she actually sleeps for more than 5-10 minutes. It usually takes at least a half hour to initially get her to sleep, then she wakes up numerous times over the next few hours. We've tried just letting her hang out but she rarely goes back to sleep by herself. That along with dd1 having new freedom since she's out of the crib now is making bedtime absolutely horrible.
