Oh my goodness tbirdlove!! Hope it's not an infection, or if it is that it's a run of the mill UTI and not your uterus! Yay for your DD passing birth weight!

Day 1 of cutting out dairy to see if it helps w/ baby’s fussy episodes at night. Also have a request in for reflux meds w/ his pediatrician. For the last 2 nights my H has sat outside in the fresh air/cold to help calm baby down for an hour. I’m getting desperate, although my first was like this and I don’t really remember when it got better. And we never sat outside with him.

tbirdlove hopefully you start feeling better soon and you just have a UTI and nothing worse! mirabelle sorry you have to cut out dairy. Not going to lie it really sucks not being able to eat it. Watch out for hidden dairy in lots of things, I'm pretty good by now at knowing what products have hidden dairy, but sometimes I still get surprised.

I'm still in the ER. I've been poked, prodded and examined in very not fun ways. A speculum is not something you want to see 13 days postpartum with stitches from a second degree tear. DD is struggling with the formula/bottles at home. They gave me a manual pump and I sent some breast milk home with my FIL a little bit ago. It's really killing me right now being away from my baby 😢 Hopefully I'll get some test results back in an hour or so.

mirabelle I hope cutting dairy and/or some reflux meds help. I've heard that when cutting dairy it can take a while before it all gets out of your system and you see any difference in baby, so keep at it if you don't see results right away 😊

Thanks ladies - I am home now. Got discharged around 7pm. I have a bladder infection. I started a course of antibiotics tonight. I'm generally feeling ok. Still mostly just feeling the cold symptoms, but also a little tenderness down below from the OB exam and I'm having a little trouble fully emptying my bladder. I'm glad to be done with this day and I hope I can get some sleep tonight.

Glad it’s a bladder infection and not your uterus. Hopefully you can get some rest and the meds will allow you some comfort andante ghis pass quickly.

tbirdlove - As much as any infection sucks, seems like a bladder infection is "better" than if it was your uterus. Hope the abx work quickly and you feel better soon.

It’s nearly 7AM, I’ve been up with DS since 4, he’s been constantly nursing and super gassy. I suspect he’s using me for comfort at this point so we’re trying a pacifier. Fingers crossed it works and we both get a couple hours of sleep.

When do the post partum night sweats start? I had them with DS, but I thought I had them pretty soon after he was born. I've had them bad the last two nights, so I'm not sure if it's because I'm sick or if it's still post partum related. Either way yuck!

It’s so gross. I remember this with M but yuck I’m over it.

DD and the dogs know a change is coming soon. They won’t leave me alone. DD is climbing in our bed in the middle of the night and she sleeps a little too wild to be bedsharing.

I was kind of hoping the no dairy thing wouldn’t work so I could eat dairy but alas only 2 days in he’s like a different baby. Wtf. Maybe it’s a coincidence this soon.

I thought it took a week or so for dairy to fully leave your system. I'm torn between saying that's great you found something that's helping and hopefully it's just a coincidence because I can't imagine eliminating dairy from my diet!

Everything I read says it takes weeks so maybe it’s not dairy related. But the difference is 90 minutes of sleep verses 4+ over night and less inconsolability. I’ve made no other changes. Time will tell I suppose.

Hopefully dairy isn't the problem, I know how much it sucks to have to cut it out, but at least you'll know you'll get to have it again when you're done breastfeeding!

Still pregnant and the in laws are here! So glad that she didn’t surprise us and come before their scheduled visit to take care of DD and the pups. Taking a deep breath now that the plan we had in place will work.

My mood has been dwindling. I had hoped that by two weeks post partum that I would be ready to start leaving the house a little. But instead with being sick and the infection and all the poking around they did down there, I feel like I've gone backwards. My stitches are more tender again, my bleeding has increased and I have this heavy soreness when standing. Plus I'm still getting over my cold and the lack of any solid sleep at night is beginning to wear on me. Oh, and add to that that the weather here has been cold and dreary and rainy 😑 I'm so sensitive to dreary weather.
I've been cooped up for months with how uncomfortable my pregnancy was and I'm really disappointed to STILL be cooped up. I know I need to give myself time to heal, but I'm so ready to be functional again.

Big hugs tbirdlove. It's hard enough to recover without having to deal with illness and infection. I hope you can recover from those quickly and start to feel more like yourself after the fact.

I always have to remind myself when I'm feeling frustrated/sad/whatever that this phase is not forever and we will get in the groove of things eventually, and that soon it'll be easier to go places and do things.

Holy smokes. We must be having a two week growth spurt cause this girl is eating like every hour. She nursed 15 times yesterday and is on her 9th session already today and it's only 3:20. And the poo.... We've had two blowouts in the last hour and a half!
It might already be time to move up to size 1 diapers, but I just can't believe that!

As soon as DS2's umbilical stump fell off we moved up to Size 1's. The NB ones don't hold enough!

Her cord came off like a week ago but it's still bleeding a little bit on and off and I'm still having to fold down the NB diapers in front! I have a few more days or so worth of NB size left from this case so I'll at least use those. Then maybe I'll try the 1s. Or see if she'll fit in her cloth diapers.

After her feeding frenzy and poo-poo party, DD has been passed out for a while. I managed to do a little cleaning/tidying up upstairs and then gave myself a mini pedicure. It was so nice to be able to reach my feet again!! 😆
