What do you need? Anything you want recommendations on, or to muse aloud about what might be your best buy?

I made a private registry on Amazon just to keep track of what needs we have/so I can buy things over the next few months to stretch out the hits to our budget. We are very minimalist but...babies are not.
So far my registry has: Bottle nipples Size 1 Bottle nipples Size 2 Baby nail clippers Pacifiers Burp cloths Baby wash Bottle drying rack Bottle brush Diapers Formula
For bigger gear items I need: - a living room item to keep him safe from his adoring sisters/ safe while I go help them with things... I’m thinking my best bet would be a PnP with a bassinet level, so I get use out of it when he’s mobile (my babies tend to be early movers 😩) - maybe a more portable chair/Rock n Play type thing to bring from room to room? Really not sure what would be easiest but I know for certain I’m having another c-section so it has to be light - debating the baby brezza... basically a keurig for formula. I am 100% about formula feeding. it’s pricy but MH’s cousins are raving about theirs and it looks pretty darn sweet when I see it in action. Any thoughts?

Tlex I really like the fridababy nail clippers. They took a little getting used to but I feel like I can cut my kid’s nails much more easily than traditional clippers.

I think I will need a double stroller. I’m debating between a sit and stand style or something like the city select. DD will be 3.5 when the baby arrives so I’m not sure how much I will need a stroller? She’s extremely strong willed so while she likes to walk, sometimes I really need the ability to strap her in for her own safety.

For the few months I needed mine it was invaluable - it was the difference between park/walk outings and being housebound with no car. I did end up getting the Britax double (due to our infant car seat already being Britax) and it was a beast/my kids didn’t love being in the bottom seat, so I don’t really recommend that one. My friend was super happy with her very simple sit and stand and used it for ages. I was sure I’d wear D2 all the time everywhere because I wore D1 like that, but then D2 haaaaated being worn/got super sweaty which was yuck for both of us, so ... best laid plans and all that.

I am looking at sit and stand strollers, but may end up also getting some sort of all terrain double stroller if I see a good deal (used probably). We have a single Bob and honestly didn’t use it that much, but when we did need it, it was awesome.

Tlex I’m 100% getting the baby brezza if we go with formula! Especially hearing a good review. I haaaaaated making formula bottles. I haven’t thought about the smaller things yet. Stroller - sit & stand / double jogger? New monitor with better monitoring of 2 rooms and no WiFi interference Snuggle me organic? I’m not sure if I need another baby holder. We have a RnP and PnP, but we now have 2 stories and I might want something else for our upstairs playroom. Since the first kid, a Buy Buy Baby has opened, so I’m excited to go browse!

What age group is good for a stander on the the sit and stand? My kid will be 3.5 when this guy is born.
I am buying a recliner to nurse in since I don't need to buy much else. I saved everything and bought gender neutral big stuff. I will buy minimal clothes. I loved the interchangeable sets of pants and onesies from target.

Yogurt My DD will be just over 3.5 too. The only time we really use a stroller now is at the zoo. I forgot about the recliner. I was planning on using the one from DD’s room, which I guess means buying a new chair for her room. She loves the chair, so I want to do it soon and make it exciting and not “I’m taking your chair away.”

My DD will be 4 when LO is due. I had bare minimum for her but im wondering if I will need like a swing or something this go around since I won’t be 100% available this time. We might get new monitors ours scan but I don’t love it so maybe if we find a good deal. Possibly a new rocker I’m not sure I can get myself to take the rocker out of DDs room. Basics bottle nipples brush. I want one of those drying rack things for bottles. New breast pump and bags. I feel like I don’t need anything but that’s seems crazy to me lol. ETA: things I loved hat we had for DD were the rock n play and sit me up. We also have a space saver high chair we used pretty early on since it reclines back.

New monitor I think, I'd love one that can pan the room and only switches between rooms when noise is made. I've done 0 research so I have no idea if these exist or how much it would be, but I think it would be the one thing I would be willing to spend $$$ on.
I'd like a new bouncer and swing, the bouncer was INVALUABLE with E and I know all kids are different but I don't want a rnp (if I can avoid it) and it's a light, easily portable containment device. I didn't love our swing either so I'd probably sell the old one to replace it.
Probably should invest in a few new bottles or nipples, but I might wait to see if he takes to the kinds we have before buying those.
Need to start stocking diapers. I need to keep an eye out for target's sale where you buy 2/3 boxes and get a $20 GC.
Dresser.
I'd like a new changing pad to match his room (also need to decide what color we're going to paint, he'll be in E's old room which is pink).
I have a Tula and other cheap carrier, but I'd like a wrap or sling to use when he's itty instead of getting the infant insert. I didn't use any with E, anyone have a recommendation?

I am dreading having to use a stroller again 😣 we haven't used ours since before E's second birthday, she's so good at walking everywhere and staying close. I hate lugging it around though. So definitely not getting a double, I'm considering getting a new single stroller that I might like more, but I'd need it to still be compatible with our bucket seat and I don't know how limiting that would be. That might be a see how I feel after he's here, too.

We also have a single bob and I agree - it’s great the times we’ve needed it but it’s so huge that it’s almost impossible to take indoors. I’ve been eyeing the Joovy caboose because you can add a second seat or make it sit and stand, but I’m not sure if the big kid area is too cramped.

Also, PSA - target is doing their car seat trade in event right now. You get a 20% off coupon that is good in stores or online until Oct 6th. It appears to have no brand restrictions and is for the big baby gear.

Since DD is only 18 months now, we'll reuse a lot of her stuff. I will need extra bottles/nipples because twins. Also buying a second formula pitcher. I make all formula either night before or morning of for the rest of the day- plus this way the bubbles settle before baby gets the bottle.
Obviously need two more cribs- picking up two free cribs today from my bestie's coworker. Getting two more monitors- one for twin room, one for play room so I can keep an eye on DD while she's playing up there. We already have 2 pnps from DD (were gifted two, so last time we used one in our room upstairs and one in living room. This time both will be on first floor.) Clothes, if one or both of them are boys. We already bought a swing, and have a manual rnp in basement. Also have a bouncer. Already have one infant seat and two bases, going to borrow second infant seat from a friend.

Ok, so obviously I (we FTMs) need a crib, dresser, changing table, and rocker in the nursery. I will also need a car seat and two bases. Should we get 2 car seats (one for each vehicle)? What do I need to look for in picking a good car seat?
We also need bottles, but how many? What kind of nipples do you get? Do I need a bottle warmer/sterilizer? What brand of bottles is best? I’m planning on nursing.
What kind of sleep clothes are the best? I’ve heard about sleep sacks. Are those better than a regular onesie and pants?
How many blankets and burp cloths and everything do I need?
What are essentials I can’t/shouldn’t live without? What is considered something important/essential that I don’t need?

How many blankets and burp cloths and everything do I need? What are essentials I can’t/shouldn’t live without? What is considered something important/essential that I don’t need? I would do one infant bucket seat, two bases (one for each car). As s/he gets older and moves to a convertible seat I would get 2 of those. All car seats should meet safety standards, but it's important to find one that fits in your car. BRU used to let you take models to your car to install and see if they fit, I think Buy Buy baby might too? I would check, that was helpful to us. Otherwise, picking one that is compatible with your stroller (infant seat will click onto) is another important factor. For E we bought a "travel system" that came with the car seat and stroller. I wouldn't stock up on too many bottles yet, babies are so picky and you never know what brand they'll like and use. Dr brown and medals medela have good kinds for bfing babies, we used tommee tippee (we nursed) because they were the first kind I tried and she liked them, lol. You can get a bottle warmer if you want but it's definitely not a NEED. I never used one (or a wipe warmer). Until she could roll we used swaddles for bedtime, so easy and keeps them cozy. Then we used sleep sacks, I preferred the kind with elastic on the bottom and were open, super easy for motn changes. Then we moved to zipper sleepers. E was a hot baby so we rarely used blankets, despite getting 3 million at my showers, lol. Receiving blankets are invaluable, use as blanket, laying on floor for baby to lie on, as a burp cloth, for them to chew.... everything. Buy a lot of these. Also, multiple sheets and waterproof covers for the crib mattress. The last thing you want to do at 2am with a poop blowout is have to wait to wash those. I would suggest 3 of each, for the occasional night it happens TWICE 🙄 a few changing pad covers for this reason too. As mentioned above, I recommend a lightweight/portable baby containment device like a bouncer or rnp. I am terrified of rnp's ONLY because almost every person I know who has used them has terrible sleepers, haha. A swing is great, but of course not all babies like them. A good floor gym for them to lie on and look up at toys/mirrors. We just put the changing pad on top of the dresser also, instead of getting a separate changing table. Breast pump, your insurance should give you one for free you just have to request one. There are several 3rd party companies that you can go through to get it too.

My DD hated being swaddled, so she wore halo sleepsacks starting in the hospital. She's still in them now at 18 months. I'm team sleep sack for life! (She wears them, typically cotton ones, over a cotton sleeper or two piece pjs or even just a diaper if it's hot. In the winter we have a fleece sleepsack. We try to keep two in each size just incase she's sick or a diaper blowout.) She also wears them for naps at home- at daycare she just stopped wearing them. But at home, it's her signal that it's sleep time, and she sleeps for longer when she wears it. I agree with pambee, only one infant carseat is needed. We actually only used one base for the first six months, because our chicco can be used with the base or with a seatbelt. Once I had a family friend ready to sell theirs for cheap, we got a second base. Oh, a longtime favorite playmat is the fisher price (I think) piano playmat. She still uses the piano part today to play music on!
