Is it too soon for this? I know I have one of the older babies in the group. Anyone have any ideas of what they are going to do?

I'm a thread AW this week. Ds2 will be one on 10/13 aka a little over two months. My thoughts right now are a bumblebee theme OR a pumpkin theme. I'll save the Halloween theme for his 2nd birthday I'm stuck on a bee themed activity for the older kids (most are 3.5-5) to do. Maybe making seed packets for a pollinator garden? Or if I go the pumpkin route, it would be painting pumpkins. But I kind of love the bumblebee theme. Both of my boys are busy bees so I think it fits! It's also good colorwise for the mid fall. Eta it will be brunch at our house.

We are celebrating DS' birthday at Thanksgiving on the 8th of Oct. along with MIL's, DH's, and mine. Shrug. We are lame. But also there's way too much in October, so we always just lump the birthdays together for family celebrations. We will probably have something for just us on his actual birthday.
We're not big "first birthday woooo!" party people. XD

I try to have a theme but eh. I love to see all the Pinterest stuff though.

Omg too soon!! How are our babies getting this big?! 😭😭😭 We don't actually have plans for a party. Both sets of grandparents are coming to town and we will go to lunch, but that is about it.

We are having a brunch on December 9th. We have a bunch of family planning on coming weather permitting. Since we are in the Christmas season I’m thinking of doing a gingerbread theme. I’ll have N and the cousins decorate gungerbread men to take home/eat for favors.

No plans yet but both girls will get their own celebrations since we like to do a big first birthday. Their birthdays are only 9 days apart though so in the future there will likely be joint parties.
Maybe a rainbow theme. I don't know. DD1 we did you are my sunshine for the theme, though we kept it very low key.

E is 10/30, so Halloween themed will be inevitable, I think. lol I am thinking maybe just pumpkin or fall colors/leaves for a theme this year. I’m not sure.
My biggest decision now is whether to have it at our house or rent a hall. Being her first bday, we’ll invite everyone, so that added up to a guest list of around 60 people. I’m sure only 30-40 will come, but that’s still a lot of people for an indoor party at our house. I wish we could guarantee decent weather so people could be outside.

I like planning birthdays. We’ve always done themed parties for ds1 so that probably won’t change for C.
His birthday is 11/11 which is a Sunday but there’s a Packer game that day (priorities lol) so we are celebrating on 11/10. I want to do a lumberjack themed brunch. Mostly because I want to eat pancakes and see C in a little red plaid shirt with suspenders. I reserved a park pavilion near some pretty woods and it has wooden beams and a beautiful stone fireplace so I think it will be perfect. I’ll have to think of a game/craft for the older kids.

Since N is 12/19, we need to start thinking about this because of Christmas travel. We will do something, but need to nail down a date first before I start thinking theme. I think people are probably expecting Star Wars or Snoopy so I’d actually like to try something else 😂 sarahandben108 I am definitely saving that gingerbread theme for when N is older. Cookie decorating is such a great idea!

bethkate I’m a big fan of renting a place. My house is kind of a weird configuration so people would be all spread out. Plus then I don’t have to worry about cleaning on top of all the other party prep. The park pavilion/shelters I use come with a full kitchen and all of the tables and chairs we would need too.

We're doing unicorns. I've already started gathering stuff. DD1's 2nd birthday is October 11th, so I've got both parties started in terms of theme. It's the same people coming to both. November is busy, MILs bday is the day after DD2s and my brother's birthday is the next day after that. And then DH's birthday is 12/11. Figured I'd start now.

I'm right smack in the middle of planning ds3 and ds2's huge joint birthday party that is next Friday. So AJ's party isn't on my radar right now
But I usually do a theme based in their nicknames. So he will have a teddy bear party

How do we have almost 1 year olds?? Also, I think i’m a little behind on planning since the girls are 10/15!!
I need to coordinate with my mom - my dad’s 70th is the week after the girls’ 1st birthday. We could do them the same weekend, but his dinner will be an hour from my house. So not sure if that’s actually helpful.
For DS we had family to the house. I did a huge photo collage in the shape of the number 1 and displayed his month photos on the mantle.

For DS1 we did a cars and trucks theme for 1 and then it’s been his choice, his party is at the end of August and is Octonaut themed this year 😊. DS2 is 12/2 and there is a winter “one”derland theme I’ve seen that’s cute but I think we will do woodland theme like his nursery.

I love the gingerbread theme! And I guess it wasn't too early to start this thread ha ha. We are planning on getting ds2 a matching my first anywhere chair from PBK for his birthday. And then I've made a book Wish list for people who want to get him a gift. I'll use the same list for ds1's birthday in January lol. Dnw anymore toys in my house. bethkate embrace the Halloween theme lol. I'm still surprised that we didn't have a Halloween baby in our group! quinn do you have a go to peanut free cake mix that you use?

Oh man, you have me on pinterest looking at themes now! L doesn't turn one until December 11th but with it being so close to allll the holidays it's a good idea to start at least thinking about it now! We did Where the Wild Things Are for E's first bday and it was the cutest!

I am not ready to start planning a first birthday party 😭
We’ll probably rent a place because our house can’t fit that many people and I don’t want to clean. We rented a gym for my 3 year old’s last two parties and that worked out well. Might just do that again.

I usually use funfetti cause it's my favorite lol. I'm making ds3 cake pops for his party next week, just an FYI for the future, the ones at starbucks are peanut free as well, it's a wonderful bribing tool 😉

What about “one”ce upon a time?
I want to avoid pumpkins this year because I know we will do pumpkin patch, etc I. Years to come. Also, my nickname for DS is pumpkin and I don’t think he’ll like it (in a few years, he’ll get it)

Ok, I think we are going to do a Lumberjack/flannel/bear theme. Chili for the main dish and then plan around it. We will have 40 people so chili will be easy and right in a nesco.

I'm stealing your idea 🤣
