I’m trying to finalize the menu for C’s party. We are doing a brunch. I’m thinking Costco quiche, flapjacks with butter and syrup (messy, I know, but I feel like it’s a must for a Lumberjack party), donut holes, fruit, a make-your-own yogurt parfait bar, and cupcakes. Drinks will be bottled water, apple juice, orange juice, and coffee with all the fixings. Does that sound like enough? I’m also struggling to think of an activity for the kids. Obviously the babies won’t really be able to participate, but otherwise there will be a wide age range of kids from like 1-10. Any ideas?

Outdoor: "axe" throwing (bean bags with pics of axes on them, stand up a piece of cardboard painted like tree with a couple holes in it).

I love the bird feeder idea, thank you! Google suggests pin the beard on the lumberjack and a scavanger hunt as well. You could do log cabin building with whatever blocks you have too.

pootsen, that food sounds great! I'm just thinking about it too. It's an afternoon party. Mini quiche, sandwiches (ham and cheese, cucumber and cream cheese), quinoa salad, fruit platter, cranberry brie bites, cheese tray, veggie straws, chips, rice krispie squares, cake made by me. Everything is okay at room temperature 👍 Beer, prosecco and sparkling water (bubble theme remember!) There will be about eleventy hundred people here, so if there's not enough food and they leave that's for the best 😂

pootsen Costco makes quiche? I need to check this out. As for activity I was thinking of cookie decorating and/or scavenger hunt before we booked the planetarium. Also I saw someone who did a stack of pancakes for 1st bday photos instead of a smash cake so cute.

That’s adorable @lauren927. I was planning on getting a buffalo check flannel shirt for C to wear but now I must get a cute hat with ear flaps too!

Soooo the party is on Sunday and I’m finally planning. Going to order pizza, get applesauce pouches, bottled water, and order a cake. Does anyone know if wegmans does smash cakes?
I decided our activity/favor will be a pull string piñata. I’ll have white gift bags for the kids to decorate then they can fill them with piñata droppings (lol, what do you call that? Prizes?). What should I put inside that won’t be a safety hazard as it falls? I’m looking for stuff that will appeal to kids age 1-8. I’ll put in our leftover Halloween candy but would like to add some non food items.

LOL @ pinate droppings 🤣🤣 doxiemama I agree with these things plus maybe some plastic gold coins. Ds3 got a bunch from a pinata at the last party he went to and they were a hit. Also, yes Wegmans can do smash cakes. At least the one by me does

Poor C is getting such a second kid syndrome birthday. I just made a FB event, no real invites. We're having it at my brother's restaurant so no real need for decorations. We are ordering her cake today though.
E had a catered party with decorations and a photographer at our house. Sorry second kid 🙃

I really just want to do cake and appetizers and veggies and stuff. But my f15 moms group says they would expect a real meal or at least pizza. I really don’t want to. lol

I really don’t want to. lol At 3-6 if there's not dinner I'd at least have enough apps and heavy enough apps to fill people up. C's party also starts at 3 and we're providing lots of apps and non-alcoholic beverages; that's it. But we'll be at my brother's restaurant so people are free to order anything else they want on their own dime. I figured that seemed like a compromise. If his restaurant opened earlier we'd do it earlier, but they don't. I can very easily fill myself up on apps, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I think I'm doing quiche (2 kinds), breakfast potatoes, a warm fruit bake, regular kielbasa and vegetarian kielbasa (my sister and nieces are vegetarians), baked french toast, yogurt with toppings, and the hot chocolate/coffee bar.
Gingerbread and vanilla cupcakes
Decorate your own gingerbread cookie for the kids

We are finally getting around to planning Bs party. I think we’re doing 12-2 and I’m going to do lunch and cake.
The party will mostly be adults (sticking to family) so do I need to have kids activities? Like I’m guessing there will be 2-3 kids other than B. I do have some cousins who are high school and would maybe do something like cookie decorating.

Help me pic an invitation. Would it be embarrassingly extra to do a two sided invitation, same design but with one of the twin’s names on each side LOL? I feel bad on the invitation designs that only have one character. But then I also think that little elf is adorable! Twin mom guilt? Here starts the life of sharing everything 😬

belle0720 I don't think it's extra, but I probably wouldn't spend the extra $ to do it lol. I think #5 is super adorable.

cnf, quinn-- she is our first and I didn't think of doing a proper invitation for a second! I told in person /phoned and texted. But we're only having my BFF and her family, H's BFF and his wife and my colleague whose kid is a month older. We finally decided to have quiches and cake with coffee and bubbles the day before her birthday as otherwise we had to wait almost 3 weeks to do it, which just seemed sad.

belle0720 I think it's a cute idea to have it 2-sided! I like #4 Waffle I only invited my mom, my dad, ILs, and the nanny. So I figured a group text would suffice lol

Thanks guys! I'm going to go ahead and do it double-sided. I've always printed on both sides of our invitations anyways so it won't cost anymore than I planned on spending anyways.
