We are driving out to Ontario to spend a week at the lake in a cottage.
We are driving through the States to get there so I may be a tiny bit excited for Target.

We’re headed to the Caymans this week. Then I spend July in the Jersey shore, August in the Hamptons. I told MH I was going to book something for our anniversary (September) and just surprise him at the airport, so I’m about to pull the trigger on an Aruba trip. I have a pretty big trip booked in October for Hawaii (hiiiiii, @winomite !). I’m in my H’e ear about something for November but that’s going to be a hard sell, especially since we’re planning on St. Lucia for New Years. Give me all the trips. Oh really??? Which island? And have you been to Oahu? Which part of the island is best to stay on? We only have a couple days there and want to go to Pearl Harbor and then obviously near good food. And where are you staying when you go to St. Lucia? Yes! We’re going to Maui and Oahu. We went to Oahu last trip for the first time. I love Ko Olina. They’re trying to develop it into a Wailea-type area, but if you want to be close to the sites and restaurants, you may want to stay in a more developed area. I find Ko Olina to be super chill and quiet. We drunkenly bought a trip to St Lucia at a charity auction last year. It’s at an AI and you know how I feel about those. 😬 So we decided we should just use it over New Years since rates are so crazy then.

We just got back from Sea Island, Ga for Memorial Day, we’re spending a week in Montana in the beginning of July, Charleston at the end of July, and possibly Aruba or some TBD beach resort in August before the baby starts school. I’m taking notes in this thread to hopefully get something planned Did you love Sea Island? We have taken a few family trips there and I think it’s magic.

Ohh, has anyone been to The Breakers? It’s on my short list but I’m not sure if I should wait until my kid is a little older to enjoy it more since it’s such a family place. She’ll be 1.5 when we’re looking at going

In a couple weeks my mom and I are doing an overnight in John Muir Lodge in Kings Canyon National Park. Could be a nice short mom-daughter trip....or I could kill her. We’ll see.
In July we do a week at Bass Lake outside the west gate of Yosemite with MH’s enormous extended family of like 40 people. Tons of kids, super fun.
The weekend we get back we do this hokey local community campout thing where everyone in town camps on the big field next to the community center. It’s just one night.
The last weekend before school starts up again in August we are doing three days in Capitola near Santa Cruz, we’ll do the Boardwalk one day and the beach the rest of the time.

Headed to NH in July for 5 days. Probably will go to the Cape a few times too but that's not really a vacation.

I would love to go back for another trip.

We are road tripping to Vancouver Island in early August for a family reunion, and hopefully stopping in the Okanagan/Shushwaps (BC wine and lake country) on the way back. The kids don't mind the drive and loooove the ferry, I'm looking forward to it! ARE YOU STOPPING IN VANCOUVER!?!!?!?

My husband cornered me on day three of Disney last year and made me promise we wouldn't return until the little one is 5 (so latter half of 2020). It was a moment of weakness because I was at the end of my Disney tolerance. I'm secretly plotting a February 2019 return.

Disney is our go to spot because they provide all your transportation and we don’t need to lug car seats. If that’s your reason for spending 11 days in the August Disney heat, I can provide some other places where you can arrange transportation and leave car seats at home. We also love Disney. This is our 4th trip is 3ish years. We have other places we want to go but we want until the girls are a bit older. We don’t have anyone who can keep them for more than a night or two so adult only trips won’t happen for us.

There are a million places I would rather go on vacation to than Disney. I'm not sure my kids even know what it is.

He keeps insisting DD has to be old enough to remember. WE CAN GO MORE THAN ONCE H! My youngest was 3 the first time we went and she remembers it. The best part for us was watching our girls interact with the characters at such a young age. Everything is so much more magical when they are little!

I'm hoping to visit Munich next summer with my two older boys adelbert. My brother lives there and I've never been to visit. I was there ten years ago and fell in love, I can't wait to go back.

I’m trying to figure out a way to sneak a weekend there in the next few months.

MH and I are going to Vegas next month without kids. I’m very excited to get time with him. I’ve also never been there.
Other than that I think we are mainly planning on long weekends at our family cabin. I wanted to do the beach too but I’m not sure if we can make it happen with his work schedule.
I am hoping to do a Washington DC trip for Ds1’s birthday because panda’s are his favorite animal and he will be so excited.

It’s geared to kids and it was so fun to watch him toddling around lighting up at the characters. My youngest was 9 months the first time and that was probably too young. It was cute to see him with characters but otherwise, meh. But I don’t buy in to the “they have to remember it” argument. I think if you get to remember it, it’s worth it.

8 of us are heading to Chicago to see Pearl Jam in August. Taking a couple extra days to tour around as well. I’ve only heard great things so I’m excited to go!

We are going to Grand Cayman in 11 days!! I am so excited. We went on our honeymoon almost 12 years ago. Then in July my boys are flying back to Texas to visit the grandparents. While they are there my husband and I are going to do a weekend trip to Chicago. In August we are going to Austin before the kids go back to school. It should be a great summer!

We are spending a night at cedar point right after Father’s Day.
We have a small camping trip planned with my brother and his family around the 4th of July. This is semi local to us (only 2 hours away).
Then at the end of July we will be getting married and going on our honeymoon to Michigan. We will be visiting several cities while there and I am looking forward to our child free time.
We go to visit family in Cincinnati over Labor Day weekend.
I’ll spend another weekend with BFF in Columbus at some point too.
We’ve got a lot of small trips planned so far this summer. I’m happy we’re getting to travel together even though none of these are very far for us.

jbm I would do the Caribbean! I don't know what airport you're flying out of but direct flights would be my first step. Our boys loved Jamaica but I know that all of the islands have good spots and are worth a visit. Where did you stay in Jamaica? I didn't love where we stayed but the next time we go we're going to rent a villa on the beach. There are so many villas to choose from some with private beach access, and I think that will give us the trip we want. We'll probably do one where chef and babysitters can come as requested instead of 24/7 because that is what we're most comfortable with but there are tons of options.
I haven't researched it very much yet but I think Linda Smith www.jamaicavillas.com/ is supposed to be considered a good rental agency but there are a ton and I have to look into it again.

We can only do trips with the boys during school holidays as it is illegal here to take the kids out so we're really looking forward to the summer holidays which last 6 weeks and start in a month. We'll be going to the Alps, Tuscany, and South Tyrol. Some of the weeks are alone with just our boys, some are with friends, and some with family. We'll also spend a week traveling around Germany and visiting friends who live in different cities. I'm very, very excited.
Sometime in September I'm going to do a week to MN with my middle son which should be a really fun mother/boy, and then in October we have fall holidays and we'll be doing the Italian lakes (Lake Como, Garda, etc) but if the weather isn't great we will just travel farther south to the Italian coast and towns like Naples. In December I want to do a long weekend to Paris or NYC with H, and last year we went skiing over Christmas and we might do that again- H wants to wait and see how the snowfall is.

adelbert, there are so many fun things coming to Paris this December. Besides the Christmas markets, the musée d’Orsay is having an exhibit on the scienctific advances of Gustave Eiffel, and the grand palais is having one on Michael Jackson. I’m excited for both. Also, the first weekend of december has the annual salon of indépendant wine producers where you get a tasting glass at the door 😋
