I just made the ugliest soup for dinner. It's potato, corn, and ham chowder. It's gray and lumpy. It does taste delicious, but I hope it looks a little more appetizing when I add in the dairy.

The clinic wait time went from 2 hours and 6 minutes to 45 minutes but still no hold you spot feature. Then I refreshed and it went back up to 2 hours! Dammit! I'm going to go as soon as A gets home tonight. Could you go to a cvs minute clinic or something like that?

And the one closest to me isn't in my insurance network and cost me a fortune last time I went there.

We are so inconsistent about the TV. They don't really watch it during the week since DH has it on sports or HGTV/Food Network. Col will sit for a minute to watch a favorite skier or to watch the Rangers "walk through the glass" between periods when they're playing at home, but he's generally not paying much attention. Weekends vary. We pretty consistently let him watch an hour or so of kids' shows on Sunday mornings and sometimes he'll watch PBS shows on my phone (usually for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes), but that's usually it. We let him watch more over the holidays since he was really into the Grinch, Rudolph, etc., and you can bet yesterday with everyone home and DH and I both trying to work, that he got a couple hours of extra screen time. It's clearly not an issue though like cagoldi mentioned, I could see Colin becoming a couch potato down the road if we're not careful. Kind of the opposite, I worry that we haven't let him have much access to phones, tablets, etc. My Mom and my MIL will both bring their tablets if they're babysitting for any extended period of time, but that's really it. And let's face it, a mastery of technology is going to be an expectation for these kids. I'm just concerned about tipping the balance over to too much screen time (see above comments about couch potatoes!).

kim22 What will you have todo for it? Nebulizer treatment? She said we can do saline in the nebulizer since we have them but he doesn't need actual meds. I did find a sealed bag of all new tubing and stuff in my cleaning yesterday. He's been stuffy all week but this morning he had a coughing fit and coughed up a bunch of nastiness. T was such a healthy baby, I was hoping to get lucky again. If he gets a fever or wheezing gets worse, we go to the ER. The doctor thinks today is the peak and he should improve.

I use the Amwell App. $39 and you will be seen in minutes from your desk if you want.

I'm now having some pecan praline bundt cake someone brought in. You know, to make up for the lack of calories in my lunch.

The kids cannot go back to school soon enough. They are driving me nuts. Ditto, and I only have one. If school is cancelled on Monday I may riot.

This has crossed my mind, but I think they will be exposed in school pretty early (B has computer class every week or so at age 3-4; I had a weekly computer class starting in 1st or 2nd grade in the early 90s). Also, I read something recently that resonated...if you gave an older student an iPad—who had never seen one before—how long would it take them to become as proficient as a child who’d been playing on one since preschool? Probably about 5 minutes.

I'm going cross eyed refreshing their page lol. Not really, I got meds for a UTI twice with no labs. I told them I get them all the time and I know what they are. Download the app and it says what they can and can't treat.

We need to incorporate it privately at some point, lord know how, because Dh and I are not handy at all with technology.

peachsmama you think you have a sinus infection too, right? They would probably give Augmentin for one or both, and just based on you describing your symptoms they'll know if you have a sinus infection. The ABX you get for that should knock out an EI too, if you have one.

I just got an email that one of our credit cards increased the available credit by $3k. I didn't request this. The only reason I would want to keep that amount available is for emergency purposes, but it's completely unnecessary. Does it adversely effect my credit to have the available amount high? Even though the card is pretty much paid off?

Doesn't impact your score but could be a factor if you are looking to take loans or open other lines of credit. 3k isn't enough that I'd worry about it, personality.

cagoldi I don't know WTF I have. I just feel like complete shit and no matter what I take it doesn't get better. I would feel more comfortable seeing a doctor though.

Like you only use a 1/5 of your available credit..shows that you don't spend all that is available. Whereas if you had a lower limit and used 3/5 of it, that would look worse.

If that makes you feel more confident, go that route. I've used Amwell once in the past for a sinus infection and I was happy with them. A doctor is only going to be able to see visually if you have congestion and drainage and/or feel swollen glands. Easy enough to describe those symptoms over a video conference, IMO. And the treatment for EI and sinus infection would be the same.

As long as you don't end up using more, you're making that ratio more favorable.

I know to improve your credit score, you want to use 1/3 of your available credit. So if I had a credit card with a $3000 limit, I'd want to use $1000 of it, making payments on time every month, but keeping the balance around that amount.
We aren't applying for anything anytime, so I'm not overly concerned, although I would like to continue to improve our credit scores as much as possible, for future.
Before we bought our house, I worked with a credit repair company. I had previously filed for bankruptcy and H's credit was shit, so I learned a few 'tricks.' Like the not having credit cards, or having them with no balance, isn't improving your credit. Neither of us had a credit card at that time and the first thing the credit repair place told me, was for both of us to get credit cards and charge 1/3 the available credit. It's such a game and I just hate to damage what we have worked so hard on.

I think I'll grab the boys and their tablets (full circle) after work and just go wait. I called and they turned off the hold your spot thing for the cold/flu season.
