Morning from the office, the glorious office! No children are whining about commercials from the other room or trying to nap on me while I work. I had to brave disgustingly low temps to get here, but it was all worth it. So Colin has peed the bed now 3 nights in a row, after only having 2 accidents in the preceding 2+ weeks. This morning he claimed he peed while awake, but I'm not sure if he was just messing with me or what. We're going to start carefully monitoring his fluid intake before bedtime but I'm worried we'll have to put him back in pull-ups. And on another note, Chase's room is in the coldest corner of our house. Usually it's only actually a 2-3 degree difference but his room was 62 this morning thanks to how cold it go overnight. DH is very blase about the whole thing but it's driving me nuts. That same corner on the 1st floor is our powder room and it's even worse. It's embarrassing when we have guests over! Get a space heater for his room! That’s how the girls’ room is. It could be why he keeps waking at night, he’s cold. I've thought about that. I have such an irrational fear of them causing fires, which is ridiculous because I use one myself at work year round. This calls for a lunch time trip to Walmart, which is conveniently right by a Starbucks.

H peed the bed almost every night for a long time. I’m 90% sure most of it was behavioral. Like she’d wake up needing to pee, but didn’t want to get out of bed. We limited drinks, made her go potty a lot but nothing helped. Until one night I threatened to put a diaper back on her and she stopped mostly after that. Now she very very rarely pees the bed. Thank goodness because I was sick of cleaning it up every night.
Eta: it started about 6 months after she was potty trained.

I turn the one in the girls room off during the day and only keep it set at like 70 at night.

Speaking of peeing in the MOTN, M woke me up at 4:00 to pee. WTF kid. This has been happening for a few weeks now. She still wears a pull up at night and she had peed in it. Maybe she's waking herself up mid stream or something. I don't know. I guess I should be happy about it since we're probably a step closer to being night trained but damn kid. I just want to sleep. lol.

The maintenance guy that stole my heater is here. So I turned mine off and now I'm shivering. I just walked by the conference room he's using and he's got a space heater! Oh hell no. Mine is on full blast now. Try to take it jack ass. Oh hell no, I'd steal his. Thats what A said to do lol.

I'm pretty sure all of us on here arent' plopping are kids down in front of the TV or the ipad for 10+ hours a day. So, no one should be worrying about screen time. This. I give exactly zero fucks about screen time. There are days the kids have a lot, days they don't have any. Like any other thing it's all about moderation. My kids have learned a ton from their Kindles, but I also don't care if they watch straight up cartoons with no educational value. Kids need downtime too. Lately they have been into playing Nintendo a lot. It's a great carrot for me to dangle in front of them that there will be no Nintendo until they do xyz and then it gives me some time to exercise/get shit done.

SweetPotato , I agree with you--this was the longest "short" week ever in the history of weeks. I have to go to my other job tonight when this job ends. Then I work this weekend...and next weekend.
Random, but if you're looking for something fun to do with the kids indoors the girls have been loving optical illusions lately. We started with looking at some from an online article. Last night we watched a few minutes of Brain Games (Netflix) and they loved it. I'm going to order a book.
ETA: But fuck that Magic Eye 3D shit. I never could see any of it.

None today. 30+ tacos and they all have egg.

My brother and his wife don't let their son (2.5 yrs.) watch any TV. Like once a week maybe a half hour show. So when he's at our house we have to turn it off or he stands 2 inches from he TV the whole time completely mesmerized. I meant to quote this before: i think moderation for tv watching is great. If it’s on all the time (or with some frequency) it’s not as big of a deal, whereas not ever being allowed to watch it makes it the biggest of deals. Sort of like how underage people are with drinking.

Sort of like how underage people are with drinking. Exactly. I put it on when they eat in the living room (when there's to many adults to fit everyone at the table) so they leave all us adults to chat and eat in peace. But he won't eat. He stands right in front of it in complete silence with his mouth hanging open. I worry they'll do this for a lot of things though. Pretty sure I was the first to give him a pop-tart so now every time he sees me he asks for one lol. ETA: and chocolate milk. I don't think SIL will ever forgive me for that.. Joking about the forgiveness lol.

Heater procured. It's a super tiny one without settings - it's literally all they had left in the damn store - but it flips off if turned over. It'll do!

The clinic wait time went from 2 hours and 6 minutes to 45 minutes but still no hold you spot feature. Then I refreshed and it went back up to 2 hours! Dammit! I'm going to go as soon as A gets home tonight.

My kids watch tv, YouTube kids on our phones, and have kids kindles. Some days they use/watch more than others. Without it, we would all be insane and my marriage would probably be even more stressed than it already is.
That reminds me, ive been wanting to start a thread on what apps your kids play on the kindle. O just really started to use it so i need to download all the good ones. Z doesn’t use it yet but I’m sure there are age appropriate apps for her as well.
