Oh man today is a rough day. Well this week actually. I've stayed pretty much compliant, but did not want to! Lol! I was sick on the weekend, so barely ate anything. And have not planned meals this week. Work is bananas so I'm not eating much during the day, even when I pack lunches. We ended up going to Swiss chalet last night and my meal wasn't great, but not as bad as it could have been (white meat chicken, no skin and fries..should have been salad but damnit I wanted fries! Lol). Today is no better. I'm currently waiting for DH to arrive at the lawyers (paperwork for our new house...we move in one week). So doing the whole 30 during all this stress has been difficult. All I want is wine! Thankfully it's all packed, so no cheating. I usually try to get by with soda water and squeezed lime/lemon. Helps me get through sometimes. I definitely notice a difference in my body, but have no clue how much weight I'm down because I packed the scale! Lol!

How’s everyone doing? Weekends are always a struggle for me. I want to indulge! I keep telling myself I’m more than halfway there now though.

I had... a lot of beer yesterday. I am a cheap date now. I managed to stay on track with food tho, so back at it today.

I survived a first birthday party without cheating but my kid was a disaster for the rest of the day and my H was waiting with a glass of wine when I got downstairs from bedtime. I don’t feel guilty but I’ve had to focus a little more on not slipping today

I've been saying for about 4 days that today is the day I'm going to have a glass of wine. Today may be that day. I'm feeling overwhelmed with our upcoming move, and everything happening at work, and DS1 is acting like a major jerk right now (he is not happy about the move, and I do understand, but he is having huge tantrums today about packing etc.). I'm just having a rough day. Having a glass of wine is definitely not the answer...but I just kinda want one. Sigh.

redandblue, you can get through this. Is there something else indulgent/ relaxing you can do. I know it’s hard because you’re packed/ packing, but some tea and a face mask or a bath with the door locked and a book/ show/ podcast/ magazine.

I’m 23 days in and going strong! The weekends are the hardest for me, but it feels very sustainable Monday -Friday. I’m considering keeping it up during the week for as long as possible.

I find that long term it’s easy for me to eat like this most of the time, and allow for maybe 1-2 drinks and a small “cheat” per week.

And same, sterling and @rosegold. I was just discussing with H that although I don't intend to keep this up longterm, I've certainly learned a lot and I think most of the W30 principles are easy enough to implement. If you'd asked me in December, I would've scoffed at being able to make breakfasts, lunches, and dinners with no dairy or sugars whatsoever. It's fun that I've been proved wrong, but I do intend to start introducing maybe one or two things back into my diet come February, to see how I feel. And FFS I need a glass of wine every now of then. My skin lately, however, is horrible. Patches of acne on my chin, cheeks, and forehead. Is anyone else seeing an increase in bad skin on W30?

This is basically my plan as well. We’re in the home stretch but I want to keep going for weekdays after the 30th! Because, I’d love a glass of wine on a Saturday. And maybe a piece of chocolate.

I did browned ground turkey with compliant marinara sauce, and roasted broccoli tonight. Simple but good.
I’m not sure what to do about lunch tomorrow as I’ll be driving around a bit and I don’t know how long my lunch will keep without being in the fridge. The insulated lunchbox I have isn’t big enough.

I made vegan fresh spring rolls using red cabbage leaves for wrappers, with an almond butter dipping sauce, and a daikon radish “noodle” stir fry. It was really good, and I’m finally through my crazy CSA stockpile of radishes and cabbage.... although I pick up my next share tomorrow and I think I’ll be getting more.

I've been wanting to try cabbage rolls so badly. I've never had them but it feels like the texture of steamed cabbage would be just right. A nice bite to it but still soft? Yes— the cabbage worked perfectly and had a great texture! It was pretty easy to work with too. I definitely recommend trying it.

We are getting so close to the end! How everyone feeling? Homestretch! So ready for a glass of wine, but planning on otherwise pretty much sticking with the diet. H is on board too which helps. He’s been really into the food I’ve been making.

We are getting so close to the end! How everyone feeling? I’ve been reading along, but the days have been crazy busy at work! Being almost done makes me both excited and nervous...like I want pizza but I don’t want it to lead to old habits. I can be pretty all or nothing, so I hoping this is the time I can finally find some balance. We’re keeping the Sun Basket meals going for dinner, and I’ve always eaten compliant breakfasts, but lunch/post-work snacking is my forever weak spot of my day.

But even on those occasions I still really want to focus on making healthy choices

Did anyone finish today? How do you feel?
I started on the 2nd so tomorrow is technically my last day even though I plan on continuing. I’ve been weighing myself but haven’t taken measurements since I started so I’m hoping to see a change tomorrow

I finish tomorrow too, but am staying strict through Friday because I have an event Saturday. I’ll have a good meal and alcohol Saturday night then back at it on Sunday.

I finished yesterday. I ended up losing 11 pounds. I still have to take measurements, but I can definitely notice a difference in my pants. I’m hoping I can keep this momentum going for the next month.

I had started Dec 31st (I'm a Sunday-start kind of person) so by yesterday I was done. I treated myself to an everything croissant from Sbux... and spent the majority of the evening in the bathroom. I suppose a pastry loaded with butter and sugar wasn't a very prudent first step? Oh well. It was delicious.
Anyway, like many of you, I will be continuing (albeit a little less strictly) for another month. I lost 3.5% of my initial starting weight and think I could lose more if I keep going.
