Does anyone want to try to do a Whole 30 in January? Some local to me friends are doing it with me and I thought it might be nice to start here too. I’ve never done it before, but have wanted to and am ready to try after Christmas. I’m struggling this month for sure, haven’t gained any weight, but I want to eat all the bad foods and drink all the wine.

I can't do full Whole 30 (because pregant) but MH and I were just saying we need to get back to eating more W30 meals so I'll gladly join your thread.

I posted this in the Noom thread as well, but: I joined Thrive Market - if anyone has been thinking about it (I've seen it mentioned before), they do offer free membership to students, teachers, and veterans. So getting the free membership really helped. I didn't know about it until yesterday so that was what spurred me to join. They carry a lot of whole 30, AIP, Paleo, and vegan options at a discounted rate. Isn't Thrive an MLM or am I thinking of something else?

I was just coming in here to start a W30 thread. I’m starting one on 1/2. My workouts are great but I need to chill on my eating. I am planning to cheat a bit: sex with your pants on (sautéed bananas and other things that are compliant but not appreciated) and W30-friendly protein shakes. Oh and I weigh myself. This helped me lose the baby weight before and having a board to diary all my food held me accountable. So, I’m in!

I’m in. I completed 1 last year and came super close on 2 others. I ordered a spiralizer today so I’m excited to try that out this go around.

I researched a bunch of other protein powders and Vega makes a decent one. Low (or in some cases no) added sugar and not insanely expensive. I will say, however, that it doesn't taste awesome. I mix mine with water only and I basically have to chug it. Probably tastes better blended with fruit.

Also hi. I'm here for this. I'm writing my meal plan ATM, and plan on doing some prep today and tomorrow. If you guys haven't looked at the dump ranch recipe, make sure to google it. Shit is delicious and I pretty much put it on everything during W30.

I won't be home until 1/8, but I think we're going to be eating "clean" for January. I can't do super strict, but I definitely need a sugar detox.

Cher are you dairy free all the time or just while breastfeeding? I try to be all the time. After my first W30, I found that I lost a decent amount of weight when I cut diary. But, I do allow a splurge here and there because cheese and dessert. I find that my body is so used to it though that when I do have dairy, I end up feeling sick.

If you know anyone that sells it and they’re not annoying AF, you get a 25% discount when you go through them. But I have said before, the person I buy it from is a unicorn and never tries to sell me anything. If she was into that MLM lyfe at all, I would look for an alternative, rather than deal with that.

I love that grocery stores sell zoodles now. So even if I’m feeling lazy, I can make it happen.
One of my favorite W30 lunches is spaghetti squash, ground turkey meat and Rao’s tomato sauce. Compliant, filling and so easy.

I’m in. I am pregnant so not trying to lose weight but need to get back to healthier eating. I did Keto for a year and liked it but I am having a hard time getting back to it since thanksgiving. Hopefully trying something g a little different will help get my head in the game.

I have never tried it so I can't speak to the taste but the Aldi brand is popular in the keto world for low sugar/carb count. I believe Elevation is what it's called. It is whey protein though so that's a diary product, not sure if dairy was an issue for you or not. This is what H uses, but yes, whey causes bloat for me.

I made a batch of Caribbean pork in the IP with fresh citrus juices, a head of garlic, oregano and cumin. Froze some for later in the month. Also froze some turkey kielbasa, leek, cabbage, and potato soup. I broke down a chicken and made stock from the bones and will use the meat to make lemon butter chicken later this week. Today I will prep some veggies: roasted sweet potato and brussel sprouts and sauteed peppers.
