I brought a salad for lunch today but forgot my dressing! I had to go to the grocery store to pick up milk, etc. (big snow storm heading our way tomorrow) and found a dressing without sugar! It's made with canola oil, but I guess that's not banned from W30 just recommended that it's limited. It's Annie's brand, called Green Garlic. Not bad.
Tonight is spaghetti squash w/ meatballs & I'm going to make my own sauce.

I did chili with ground turkey for dinner. And tried not to glare at my child as she ate crackers with it.

I did yoga this morning and a spin class in the evening. Going to have fish, sautéed mushrooms and spinach and a cauliflower mash for dinner. I think it will be good (almost done). I made a veggie quesadilla with DD for her dinner though, and it was really hard to not have a piece of it.

I bought delish looking filet mignon for dinner tomorrow. I was feeling like I was missing out on the snow storm carb loading that I love so much. Then I decided I could still have a treat tomorrow, just not a carby one that I would regret.

I have to say I can REALLY tell just how awful I have been eating/drinking lately. This is the 4th whole 30 I've done, and man do I have a wicked headache. I hope it eases up tomorrow.

I had roasted potatoes and eggs for breakfast and Greek chicken salad for lunch. I was craving sweets so I had a few dates. Dinner was red curry coconut curry with chicken thighs, broccoli, and carrots. Usually I add soba noodles but used thinly slices cabbage instead and it was so good. I also prepped a turkey Keilbasa and shrimp hash with peppers and sweet potato that I will probably top with eggs.

I've made something similar (based on the recipe) but they were called sweet potato sloppy Joe's. They were also yummy! (sorry can't find the exact recipe, it's somewhere on pinterest! Lol)

I made smoothie bowls with DD for breakfast this morning with frozen bananas, spinach, frozen berries, almond butter, maca powder, cocoa powder and a pinch of cinnamon. I topped them with some cut up fresh fruit and some unsweetened coconut flakes. DD declared that we were having “yummy bowls!” They were really good.
We’re home today for the bomb cyclone and I’m trying to figure out something that might be indulgent/ fun but healthy to eat. I live across the street from a little 24 hr grocery that is open despite the weather so I can run there for ingredients if I need.

Home with the kids today for the bomb cyclone. I'm an HR rep for a school so they called classes yesterday. I'm grateful for that! Today's meals: B: Veggie/egg scramble L: leftover spaghetti squash & meatballs D: chicken burrito bowls (mine w: cauliflower rice)
I'm aiming to eat enough at my meals so I don't need a snack. I added a 4th egg to my scramble (it's only 20 cal more than if I was adding cream/sugar to my coffee). The past 2 days I've had 3 meals/3 snacks.

Today was super tough. I was back to work and it was super busy, so I did not get a chance to get a proper lunch. I ended up with hard boiled egg for breakfast, a fruit smootie, some almonds/cashews for 'lunch/snack', and almost cracked by the time I left. So tempted to call DH and say let's go for dinner. Feeling proud that I did not do that, but made steaks, potatoes and veggies for supper.

I just did a Fitness Blender workout and now I plan on stuffing my face with steak and broccoli and then having a grapefruit.

I braved the snow and got to the Y and did 3 miles on the treadmill, 10 minutes on the erg and some of the weight machines. And I did day 3 of the yoga with Adriene. Definitely feeling accomplished in that area.
For dinner I made caramelized beets in an orange saffron cashew yogurt sauce. It sounds fancy but it was actually pretty easy and it was so good! I do a CSA so I always end up with a ton of beets in the winter months. I’m definitely going to make it again.

I had a banana, mango, spinach smoothie for breakfast, a bowl of my chicken and veggie soup for lunch and dinner. I am so bored. But I know as soon as I start adding back in "fun" meals, I'll be off the rails. I have so little self control when it comes to food it's so sad. H is off work tomorrow and I'm sending him to do the grocery shopping so I'm looking at meal plan ideas today and coming up painfully short. What kinds of foods do you like? My absolutely favourite whole 30 meal is buffalo chicken zucchini boats! They are so good, and even good cold the next day! www.mariamakes.com/home-1/2015/7/20/buffalo-chicken-zucchini-boats-whole30

Well our oven is being screwy so that’s wonderful. Hopefully it’s acting normal tomorrow. Otherwise I’ll have to bust out the knock off instant pot my borderline hoarder FIL bought, never used, and left at our house.
On a positive note, I’m feeling good about this. I know we are only a few days in but I’m excited/motivated instead of dreading the rest of the month. Which is a switch for me.

I did better tonight; chicken breasts cooked in the IP and steamed broccoli and green beans. Pretty yummy, but I'm craving all the worst foods on the planet.

nochill, that sounds really hard. Are you able to play around with some spices? I know peppers are out, but maybe ginger, cinnamon and turmeric? Or some Italian seasonings— garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, etc? Then you could use some of the same ingredients you’ve been using, but flavor them differently.

I've gotten very familiar with turmeric lately. I just found a "recipe" for taco seasoning mix. I know it won't be spicy spicy, but maybe it will be good? A few weeks ago I made ginger and coconut aminos (tastes like soy sauce) meatballs that were very good so those might go in the rotation this coming week. I'm getting there slowly. It's a daily struggle because my husband is not following the diet and hasn't really respected my request that he only eat certain trigger foods when I'm not around. Taco seasoning sounds promising! Have you stumbled across these recipes for AIP friendly spic blends before: www.foodtohealourselves.com/six-essential-aip-spice-blends/ The “mole” rub and the “curry” powder sound like they could be really good!

I came across these lists that lay out where you can buy different W30 approved items. I always struggle with planning out what to buy from what stores. Thought it was an easy reference and wanted to share! littlebitsof.com/category/favorites/shopping-lists/

I'm pretty sure that the headache I have been blaming on sugar withdrawal is actually a sinus thing. I'm considering that good news as I thought perhaps my body was just never going to get on board with W30 and was starting to waiver in my commitment. Between the headache and being pregnant my brain is coming up with 1 million reasons to quit but I'm staying strong. I really do feel better eating this way, I'm just addicted to processed garbage.

I’m sorry about the sinus headache catspajamas2. Those are the worst. Hopefully the healthy W30 eating is actually making it somewhat better. I bet a spicy, gingery soup would help a bit.

Mostly lurker hoping to post here more often. I’ve completed one W30 before and am trying to reset and create longer lasting habits. This time I’m trying something a little different for dinners, since that’s my weakest time of the day (hello working all day with children with autism and then tackling pick-up, homework, cooking, baths, etc.), so we’re doing some meal delivery kits. So far so good, and now I have the recipes of things we really liked, so I can make them again in the future. Keeping breakfasts and lunches super simple to offset the cost, but I find myself looking forward to a nicer meal at the end of the day. Resisting the 4:00 snack attack is still really hard, but I’m hoping that levels out over the next week or so. I’m going to keep tabs on this thread for other recipe ideas - thanks!

Sunbasket 3x per week and Blue Apron 2x per week. I haven’t tried the Blue Apron ones yet (their W30 line starts next week), but the Sunbasket ones have been really good so far. I choose the Paleo option and skim for the ones that look W30 compliant. The quality of the ingredients are excellent. Last night was chipotle turkey chili with cucumber sumac salad and tonight is braised chicken with vegetables and thyme.
