Today I’m starting by cutting my coffee(I can’t do black coffee so I must cut it) and just sticking to water. I ate bad breakfast and lunch so dinner will be clean. Baked veggies and chicken.

Mind if I join in here?? I started today. My goal is to at least make it until January 27 and then we move, which I'm sure will throw me off track in the home stretch. To get prepared I stocked up on fruits, veggies and meats today. I also threw out most non-compliant things in the fridge (I have an 18 year old son, so would be impossible to only have compliant food around). I need to try to remember to take a before and after pic. Stuck to it so far today, so that's a win! Lol

wakemom have you ever tried coffee with coconut oil blended in it? I also can't do black coffee, and the first whole 30 I did two years ago I just substituted coffee for green tea. But then I discovered black coffee with coconut oil blended (has to be blended with immersion blender or regular blender). It becomes creamy and has just enough sweetness for my liking. If you do try it, I recommend drinking it from a travel mug that you can shake (the oil does start to skim the top, so from a purely visual, it's gross in a mug). GL!

My breakfast and lunch are the same 90% of the time. I can eat the same things daily without getting too bored which helps me a lot.
Breakfast - egg muffins with green pepper and mushrooms Snack - clementine Lunch - salad with tomato, cucumbers, carrots, avocado and chicken tenderloin Dinner - salsa chicken with roasted Brussel sprouts and broccoli

So far, so good today. I had veggies, roasted sweet potato & 3 eggs scrambled together fir breakfast. I ate shrimp & salad for lunch. A clementine & sweet potato Apple mash for my snacks. For dinner I had salad & 2 plain meatballs. I put a few raisins in my salad for some sweetness. I had a bit of a headache after work, I think it's a combo of the late meeting I had, sugar withdrawal & withdrawal from my evening cocktail that I enjoyed all vacation.

Ali7P my headache is just starting slightly too, most likely due to missing my evening cocktail. That is definitely my down fall.

The sugar withdrawal headache is getting old. Hopefully tomorrow it starts to taper off. On the positive side I love going to bed at night knowing I ate clean all day. Food regret is exhausting and it’s a relief to set it down for awhile.

Due to a blizzard, my usually short commute home took more than two hours. It was really tempting to say Screw this, let's have pasta or rice or grilled cheese sandwiches, but I stayed focused and figured out what I could do quickly. I didn't make tonight's planned meal, but instead heated up a baked chicken thigh, and put a runny egg over some sautéed asparagus and bacon. Clementines for dessert. I'm definitely proud of myself for not caving but let's keep our fingers crossed that this doesn't happen too often bc it sucked.

I didn't eat garbage today for the first time in a long time! Breakfast was a vegan protein powder with zero sugars which was horrible. Lunch was steamed spaghetti squash with homemade tomato sauce and compliant meatballs. Snack was a grapefruit. Dinner was seared tenderloin, roasted potato, steamed broccoli, and dump ranch.

As I was eating dinner, I started to feel really weird. So hello from my bathroom floor! I have a stomach bug. I’m allowing myself to have ginger ale because ughhh but assuming I’m feeling a little better in the morning, I’m all in.

I'm already frustrated. I bought canned diced tomatoes for my marinara sauce & didn't read the ingredients until just now. They have both sugar & soybean oil. Ugh. At least I didn't start cooking it, I guess. Rao’s is compliant, FYI.

I went back to work today and the heat was broken, so my office was 38 degrees. I stuck it out for a while, but eventually decided to leave early, do some wfh, and then I was able to get to the Y early, before the rest of the resolution crowd arrived. Ran three miles on the treadmill and did the erg. Stayed on track with food all day, and I think my sugar withdrawal headache is almost gone now. Feeling good about this!

I need to grocery shop tonight, my meal planning is on a ~3 day time horizon right now. Hopefully I can figure out how to plan for a full week sooner than later! Unfortunately it is supposed to snow tomorrow so everyone will be shopping.

I made enchilada chicken in my new instant pot last night and I freaking love that thing. 10 mins to cook shredded chicken?!
I put a peppercorn roast in this morning on slowcook. The fam is having french dips and I will have roast beef with some veggies.
