Speaking of finding time for myself, my husband signed me up for pottery class, which I really enjoyed 15 years ago. And it’s after work so I don’t have to feel like I’m compromising that aspect and it’s basically a non-issue with the kids at this age. The first session I felt like I had no idea what I’m doing but I did manage to make a couple of pots the second session. Similarly, I picked up tap dancing lessons in January (after about 20 years) and it is bringing me so much joy. We're even performing during the spring showcase - the only adult class brave enough We always invited our adult classes to participate in spring recital and it was so fun when they did. The crowd would go nuts over a pack of retired school secretaries tap dancing to Eminem

B has oral surgery to extract four teeth tomorrow and we have to be there at 7:30 AM to check in. I'm nervous for him since they're not putting him under, only using nitrous, but he's ready to get through this so he can get prepped for braces. I'm proud of how brave he's being because DH is a wreck. He can't handle teeth things. I hope everything goes smoothly for your son! If anecdotes make you feel better, DS was younger (only 5 at the time), but he had a tooth cut out (and 2-3 more pulled), and they gave him "sleepy juice", but it didn't work. He was awake the whole time, and it was fine. He did stumble around like he was drunk for the rest of the day, though. He's had baby teeth cut out, but these are adult premolars with roots and everything. I know it's just my nerves and I'm doing my best to keep them to myself and not project any fears onto him. He's handling it much better than I expected so far!

DS had an extra adult tooth, so he had one adult tooth cut out (the rest were baby teeth).

DS had his first swim lesson without me in the water with him, and he did so well! He also cheered on the other toddler after he did something and said “yay! You did it!” And clapped. 🥹
We then went across town to pick up the cheese board I ordered at my fave cheese shop, for H’s and my anniversary tomorrow. We aren’t going out bc the sitter couldn’t come, so we are going to do a date night at home.

Oh my gosh @ dc2london how scary. I'm glad everyone is ok but what an end to the night! I found out today how much braces are gonna cost and I think I'll need to start selling feet pics or something 🤣

Hs cousin got married today in a 3pm ceremony. It was lovely, she was beautiful and happy. But it was a cash bar with the absolute worst wine I've ever had and my H and his brother almost came to blows. We peaced out before dessert and I'm ready to put my soft pants back on.
Eta my BIL was being an ass. H handled it perfectly

We just got to the hotel after 4ish hours of driving and H took the kids down to the pool before bed. Kids are getting better at traveling, so that’s been nice.

First nice Spring weekend here with temps in 70-80s! The grass is “greening up” and everyone is working in their yards & grilling. We took a nice walk around the lake last night and got on the bike trail for the first time this season.

The weather is beautiful though so I’m not going to let him spoil this gorgeous day.

But it seems like lately we get two weeks of that before the summer swelter arrives.

I was trying to be positive and tell H that at least we were earning interest on that money instead of giving the IRS a loan but he wasn’t interested in looking at it that way, lol.
