Does the coding change the billing? Is that the issue? Yes. Levels for office/outpatient visits depend on how much time they spend with you and how detailed the exam, history, tests, etc were. This could have more to do with the amount of time spent. Can you tell I'm almost done with my coding classes? (Thank goodness!)

Struggling hard with work these past couple weeks. My company has had a huge organization reshuffle that resulted in a lot of layoffs. So while I'm thankful that I still have employment, I got a fairly significant demotion. While I keep being told that my salary won't be affected, I had a company vehicle & full office as a senior manager and I will lose those perks. Now again, I may sound petty, but these are things that I worked really hard for and now they are being taken away.
I've also come to realize that I was in a severely toxic and possibly mentally abusive environment with my former boss. Now again, I am moved away from this boss so I am grateful for that, but this has affected my career and outlook on my company where I've been happy and employed for over 20 years.
One more thing work related, while I'm at it. Our CEO did a townhall and he spewed his political affiliation through out the whole thing. He's clearly in a political party that wants to limit women's rights and then at the same time wonder why there are hardly any women in senior management positions.
It's really hard for me to get any enjoyment out of work lately and for the first time may seriously be seeking employment elsewhere

I have my free Starbucks venti cinnamon latte and all is right in the world again.
Tonight we are going for steak at our favorite steakhouse and I can’t wait.

I figured it had to do with billing but I don't think I've ever seen how they code our medical stuff so I was just curious

I'm working late tonight because we have an event, which is kind of a bummer but also it was SO NICE having the morning to myself. I took a hike. We have a wedding tomorrow, too. We celebrated my birthday last weekend and so tonight I just get to go home and eat cake.

I'm sorry missmissy234, I'd be bothered by all of those things too. I don't think you're out of line for feeling unhappy and wanting to find employment elsewhere. Life is too short.

I thought it would have my shit together in my 40s. (Narrator: She did not, in fact, have her shit together.) Also, to quote the great Nora Ephron, I feel bad about my neck. But I have relatively good health, which I do not take for granted. I mean, I moved away from everyone and everything I knew and started over basically. LOL Shit happens.

I've really seen a change in my ability to take time for myself and friends in the past year. My kids are 8 & 5, and I hope it just continues to get easier. I have been prioritizing my time with things I want to or like to do since March 2020. I am living a different life.

We have had another death in the family. I feel emotionally fragile like I could cry at the drop of a dime. I am in the office today, trying to hold on. Anyway, reading the day to day posts here as been strangely comforting.
(no need for condolences please it will just make me cry at work, a like will be received as such)

Speaking of finding time for myself, my husband signed me up for pottery class, which I really enjoyed 15 years ago. And it’s after work so I don’t have to feel like I’m compromising that aspect and it’s basically a non-issue with the kids at this age. The first session I felt like I had no idea what I’m doing but I did manage to make a couple of pots the second session.

I have to lay a bunch of people off in a couple hours and I am so nauseous. I hate this part of my job.

Act like it's a band-aid and just rip it off. While they won't be happy about it, I'm sure, the least amount of conversation, the better. Good luck!

I managed to get the youngest to before care a bit early this morning so had some extra time before I had to login so I was able to sit on the porch with my coffee and read for thirty minutes. With a hoodie on and a blanket over me, because the weather isn't that great yet.
I really want one of those propane fire pit things. And a patio makeover in my backyard. That's not in the budget right now but I'll keep dreaming.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the day MH and I met, and he very thoughtfully surprised me with reservations to a new José Andrés restaurant we have been drooling over reviews for. We had a lovely time, had fun eavesdropping on the tourists, and headed home. Then the check engine light started flashing and by the time we pulled over the engine was on fire 😒
My poor H. He loves that dang car. (We are completely safe, nobody got hurt)

B has oral surgery to extract four teeth tomorrow and we have to be there at 7:30 AM to check in. I'm nervous for him since they're not putting him under, only using nitrous, but he's ready to get through this so he can get prepped for braces. I'm proud of how brave he's being because DH is a wreck. He can't handle teeth things.

Similarly, I picked up tap dancing lessons in January (after about 20 years) and it is bringing me so much joy. We're even performing during the spring showcase - the only adult class brave enough

If anecdotes make you feel better, DS was younger (only 5 at the time), but he had a tooth cut out (and 2-3 more pulled), and they gave him "sleepy juice", but it didn't work. He was awake the whole time, and it was fine. He did stumble around like he was drunk for the rest of the day, though.
