Hi! I haven’t been here much. I got sucked into a video game for a while.
I did manage to finish Legends and Lattes. It was very cute and easy to read. I think it was a little too cozy for me. I need more tension or conflict in the books I read. Otherwise the characters are great, the story was good. I am glad I read it.

Oh and I forgot it mentioned I started How Does It Feel? It was one of the books I got for free from B&N. It’s technically an ARC but it comes out this month.
I am only 11 pages in so far. I will give more of my opinion when I am further in.

I finished Listen for the Lie. I’m not sure how I liked it. I liked it enough in that I was interested but I hated the ending and I don’t think I liked any of the characters

The Wharton Plot gets 3 1/2 stars from me. I did enjoy the story, especially since it stemmed from actual events. I did struggle a little with the writing though, it felt a little bit like something written a century ago - and perhaps that was the author's intention given the time period. But I'm often distracted or interrupted when reading and have to reread pages so appreciate when the writing is a bit more to the point. That's a me problem though.
I'm halfway through Listen to the Lie, which seems to be aimed at my short attentions pan as I've been flying through it and enjoying very much.

Finally got my hold on Fourth Wing. I wasn't sure I was going to be into it at first, but I'm getting there.

I finished Listen for the Lie this morning. I thought it was maybe a little cliche but I still liked it. Easy read and I wanted to find out what happened which is all I need in thriller. Four stars.

Finished Mask of Mirrors last night, while the power was out (don't mock the neck light LOL). It definitely took me a while to get into it, but the story and world building were good. I think it's sitting at 3.5 stars for me right now. Looking forward to where it goes in the next book.
I wound up returning Will of the Many to the library unread since I knew I wouldn't finish it before it was due - it's already back on my hold requests, though. So on to Crescent City 2!

I read The Sanctuary by Gustavo Eduardo Abrevaya - it was a short and interesting Argentinian horror novel about a young couple, Alvaro and Alicia, who have car troubles and find themselves at a crappy motel in some eerie rural town. When Alvaro wakes up the next morning Alicia is gone, and the town isn't the most...helpful. I enjoyed it quite a bit, even if some of the writing didn't work for me, but it gets pretty dark. I would read more by this author as the story was a great take on various horror tropes.
I am currently reading Butcher & Blackbird and am really digging it.

I finished Vera Wong over the weekend and I loved it. I had a couple of issues with the resolution but they didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book overall. 3.5 stars.

I finished A Love Song For Ricki Wilde and it wasn't what I expected but I really enjoyed it. It did take me a while to get into it so I ended up giving it 4 stars.
Now I'm starting Murder Road by Simone St James.

I binge read The Seven Year Slip over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I cheated and used my kindle search feature to find The Dead Romantics call-back before finishing the book 😉
I started Before the Coffee Gets Cold, and it's slow so far. Hoping it gets better. I'm also slogging through One Summer in Savannah. It's really well-written but heavy.

As I've mentioned here before it's one of my favorite books although I've never re-read it so maybe I should. I just always assumed another book would be coming but so far he hasn't written anything more.

Everyone on this Train is a Suspect finally came out in Germany and I thought it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it more than the first and I love that although it's meta it still had a fun whodunnit to solve.

I finished Jar of Hearts last night. Uh wow. I liked it up until the end. The last few chapters were too dark and twisted for me. 3.5 stars rounded down to 3 on Goodreads.

This just came in on my library hold, except I realized I hadn't read the first one yet so I'm doing that now. Last night I finished Listen for the Lie. I gave it 4 stars - was a little let down at the end. Editing to add that I still enjoyed the read overall and would recommend
