Like they make chicken "sunglasses" because they are attracted to pecking red things so they put them on them to make red look blue. So when the chickens are molting so they don't peck each other to death. I would really like to see a chicken in sunglasses. Hold please.

They aren't used much anymore. But you can still buy them on eBay.

He is adamant about not wanting to wear socks 🙄🙄🙄, kids... I can’t wear socks to bed. No matter how cold it is. It creeps me out when Adam wears his. I know this is weird. I always take Millie’s off before bed too. I'm in this boat. I hate socks, period.

Appointment this morning was a waste of time. The Dr. acted like he didn't want to be there and kept asking me if I understood what he was saying. Basically, my rheumatoid factors are high, but since there is no visible joint swelling on my feet or hands it all means nothing and unless I start swelling there is no need to check the rheumatoid factors again. He didn't run any tests, felt my finger joints and sent me on my way.

Hiii from my cubicle! Thanks for all the well wishes!
This morning went smoothly and we were all in the car by 7.04am, not to bad for the first day. Drop off went well and B is just ecstatic that at that time of the morning him and J get to be in the same room.
Work is....the same. My desk has been cleaned and I'm all set up but I'm not sure I'm ready to turn off my 'out of office' quite yet.

klong11 he's garbage. Get a referral to another doc. You're not feeling well, and you know something isn't right. Don't ignore that and don't let anyone dismiss you. Does he know about your low levels of Vitamin D? It's fairly common but it's also more common with people who have AI conditions. Do you know if they checked you for other ANA titers or just ran the RA factors?

I'll likely go back to my pcp or have him refer me to a neurologist so I can get an MRI to check for MS. My mother has it and I want to rule it out. I am also hoping they can check my carotid artery path because my Dad had a defect in the anatomy in his which enabled the stroke he had to effect both sides of his brain. That doesn't have anything to do with how I'm currently feeling, but hey if you're scanning my head, might as well look for that too. After reading that I'm sure I sound like a complete hypochondriac.

And in all seriousness, I’ve met lots of people who do seem to think only red meat constitutes as “meat.” Does anyone know where this thinking comes from?
Didn’t we all learn in elementary science class that Birds, fish, even insects are classed as animals? Not being a smart ass, genuinely trying to understand.

I hate when MH leaves his on during sex! Do not want your sock foot rubbing up against my leg or foot. Makes me want to throw up.

klong11, I'm sorry the doctor sucked and didn't take you more seriously I hope your PCP can help with additional referrals and you can figure out what's up.

I am not opposed to socks. I actually don’t wear them that often though. I wouldn’t choose to wear socks to bed but if I fell asleep with them on I wouldn’t be freaked out when I woke up.

It's so scary. I can't imagine being one of you ladies on the board who's scare turned out to be not just a scare. It happened to me several times with M, only 1 time with H, and obviously the other couple times weren’t good outcomes. I just wish they’d do the ultrasounds for the first half of the pregnancy until it’s super easy to find the heartbeat with the Doppler. You probably had a mild heart attack while they were getting the ultrasound machine in the room. My OB does ultrasounds at every visit. That’s just standard at his office. And he’s the one who does them, not a tech. It was nice to be able to “see” her every time. And I think it helped to get Sierra’s diagnosis sooner. Gave me more time to prepare (and worry).

I do not wearing socks to bed. 9 times out of 10 if I am wearing socks in bed it's b/c I'm sick.
MH sometimes wears socks for DTD. I don't mind that b/c, honestly, his feet totally skeeve me out.

If at all possible I go bare feet at all time. I hate warm feet. I have problems with fluid retention and as soon as my feet are warm, they swell up like balloons and I have blisters very easily. Upside of this is I always have soft feet.

Didn’t we all learn in elementary science class that Birds, fish, even insects are classed as animals? Not being a smart ass, genuinely trying to understand. I think maybe it's a religious thing because I remember Cher saying some of her family doesn't consider fish meat. Like they know it's not logical but tradition just had them thinking that way is what I took from it? My grandma was Catholic and on Fridays they couldn't eat "meat," only fish, so I'm guessing that's where it comes from? I'm not religious at all so I could be wrong but I always assumed that fish gets a green light because the Bible says Jesus are fish? ETA: I have no idea about the chicken thing, but I think this is just a case of them not being mammals, thus making them less similar to humans and easier to view them as "just stupid animals."

Good point, cagoldi. I grew up with the, "No meat on Friday's, but eat fish". A lot of Catholic churches will have big fish fries on Friday's during lent because it's a "no meat day". My Orthodox in-laws don't eat meat on holy days, but will eat fish I think.

Re meat: both chicken/poultry/mammals and fish are animals. But I’ve always thought of them as two different categories foodwise: meat and fish. I think this has more to do with the nutritional qualities of the two 🤔?
